Sgrena was rescued from a kidnapping by Calipari, and it was claimed that the car they were escaping in failed to stop at an American checkpoint, whereupon U.S. soldiers opened fire. Video evidence shows the car was respecting speed limits and proceeding with its headlights on. Never forget when an American airstrike killed eight Kurdish Iraqi soldiers. Kurdish officials advised U.S. helicopters hit the men who were guarding a branch of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) in Mosul. Never forget while supporting Operation Market Time, USCGC Point Welcome was attacked by USAF aircraft, resulting in the deaths of two Coast Guardsmen. Never forget 16-17 June 1968, HMAS Hobart, USS Boston and USS Edson were attacked by US aircraft. At 03:09, Hobart's radar picked up an aircraft approaching with no IFF transponder active. At 03:14, the aircraft fired a single missile at the ship which killed one sailor, wounded two others and damaged the ship. Two minutes later, the aircraft made a second pass and fired two missiles which caused further damage, killed another sailor and wounded six others. The aircraft came around for a third attack run, but was scared off when Hobart's forward gun turret, under independent control, fired five rounds at it. At 03:30, USS Edson, in company with Hobart, reported coming under fire, and Hobart's captain ordered both destroyers and USS Theodore E. Chandler to take up anti-aircraft formation. At 05:15, the three destroyers linked up with the cruiser USS Boston (which had been hit by a missile from another aircraft) and the escorting destroyer USS Blandy, and continued anti-aircraft manoeuvring. Debris collected from Hobart and the other ships indicated that the missiles were of United States Air Force (USAF) origin. The attacks on Hobart and the other ships were the capstone of a series of firing incidents between 15 and 17 June, and an inquiry was held by the USN into the incidents, with three RAN personnel attending as technical advisors. The inquiry found that a few hours before the attack on Hobart, Swift boats PCF-12 and PCF-19, along with USCGC Point Dume, were attacked by what they identified at the time as hovering enemy aircraft, but were believed to be friendly planes; PCF-19 was sunk in the attack. F-4 Phantoms of the USAF Seventh Air Force, responding several hours after the attack on the Swift boats, were unable to distinguish between the radar signature of surface ships and airborne helicopters, and instead opened fire on Hobart, Boston, and Edson. Never forget the Battle of Norfolk where a large number of friendly fire incidents took place resulting in 5 American casualties. Never forget 23 August 2007: A USAF F-15 called in to support British ground forces in Afghanistan dropped a bomb on those forces. Three privates of the 1st Battalion, the Royal Anglian Regiment, were killed and two others were severely injured. Never forget five United States Special forces operatives, and an Afghan Army counterpart were killed by friendly fire in Southern Zabul Province on June 9, 2014. Whilst on patrol, and coming under heavy Taliban fire, an air-strike was called in and a B-1 Lancer bomber misdirected its payload killing the six military personnel amongst others. Never forget SPC Donald Oaks, SGT Todd Robbins, and SFC Randall Rehn of D Battery, 1st Battalion, 39th Field Artillery Regiment (MLRS, M270 A1), 3rd Infantry Division Artillery (Previously C Battery 3-13 FA ), were killed when a US fighter jet mistook the rocket artillery from US MLRS as enemy targets on 3 April 2003 while 3rd ID DIVARTY conducted a counter fire battle with Iraqi positions along the Euphrates River. The ordnance struck the vehicles of the soldiers killing SFC Rehn instantly, while SGT Robbins and SPC Oak died shortly after from their wounds. 5 other soldiers were WIA from the event. Never forget when a U.S. Patriot missile batteries fired two missiles on a U.S. Navy F/A-18C Hornet 50 mi (80 km) from Karbala, Iraq. One missile hit the aircraft of pilot Lieutenant Nathan Dennis White of VFA-195, Carrier Air Wing Five, killing him. This was the result of the missile design flaw in identifying hostile aircraft. Would you like me to continue? USS liberty incident was like all of these, a friendly fire incident. Such things happen in every war and its unfortunate. However unlike you Americans we actually care. We payed millions in compensation to the families of those who were lost in USS liberty. How about next time, don't send a spy boat to the shores of an enemy country during an active war. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

The XCR had a run of popularity in Canada 10 years back as it was arbitrarily placed in a different classification than AR-15's which made it more attractive as it could be used anywhere & not just at a range (yes, our gun laws suck & have since changed to be even worse). I had one & liked it.
@Félix Im in Brazil and I feel your pain brother, 9mm and .45 were restricted to army and police until 2 years ago (even in the range), and with today's election we might go back to only 20+ cm shotgun and .38 as short caliber.. in the mean time the good people of the favelas have AKs, ARs, SMGs, .50s, but god forbid the rest of us have (legally) a 9mm that we cant even carry, only from home to range lol
@@PhilWitDa_45 AK's have been illegal here for decades, but we all still have our AR's & such that got prohibited in May of 2020 as a knee-jerk reaction to a mass shooting (where the psycho did it with illegally-owned guns & arson combined, all while dressed as a cop driving a fake marked cop car with replicated decals). The killer had no gun license, had a Mini-14 he got from a friend's estate, the rest of his guns were smuggled from the USA. Licensed owners still have all of our now-prohibited guns, we just can't take them anywhere or use them lawfully. For me that's 3 AR's, a stripped AR lower & a Sig MPX. The current gov't will likely be replaced by the time they figure out confiscation as even many of their own supporters are getting sick of them. LE agencies & many provincial gov'ts have said there will be no help from them as budgets are already tight & policing budgets are provincial jurisdiction. Undoing the dumb bans will be easy as they used an administrative process to bring them in, not votes in Parliament, so they can be undone just as easily.
I’ve had an XCR-M for a year or so now and completely agree with the ejector. I had the old Gen of ejector and it would misalign and seize the bolt, and was just a pain in general. However since I live in Utah I was able to take it in to Robinson Arms and they replaced it with the newer model, and even tuned the gun to my suppressor for me while I was there all for free. Great company!
Cool guys for sure, when I went to pick up parts there one of the techs there let me pick his brain for a good bit about the torque specs and other tid bits for the caliber exchange kits.
Oh shit he finally did it. My XCR-M is my favorite gun. The platform is fantastic and packed full of features. It also did what the ACR couldn't in having available caliber exchanges with a lot of different options. It's a shame it isn't more widely known.
I'm also a "Mormon" (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or LDS) so the title had me curious. There are many of us that care about personal and national security just like everyone else, so of course there are quality arms produced here in Utah, no surprise. And lest anyone forget, John Moses Browning was also a member of the LDS church. I'm glad the XCR is a quality weapon and I hope many people buy them for self-defense against all threats, foreign and domestic.

Have been looking at purchasing an XCR in .308 and the first person I looked for a review from was you….2 weeks later I see your Instagram post with the XCR and knew it was coming. I love my DD5V3 but I want something in a 12.5”-14.5” chambered in .308 and that is piston driven. I’m very impressed how quiet it is suppressed and how smooth it shoots. It has zero recoil. Love your content Garand!!! GET OUT AND BANG!!!
I actually met the owners at gun show two years back near Salt Lake City. I was like whoaaa this looks like an ACR and he angrily explained how they were battling for the rights to the contract cuz he came up with it first and patented it. Then he avidly explained the whole gun and I definitely plan get one eventually. Easy system to learn and swap out.
Owned an XCR-L since 2006. One of the unknown things about all models of XCR-L and XCR-M is the charging handle is also a "forward assist" that goes forwards and backwards. Notice the charging knob can be pushed in. There's a spring on the knob. The shaft on the charging handle goes into a machined hole on the left side of the bolt carrier group. This helps if you extract a stuck cartridge. I just hold the foregrip just ahead of the mag well with my right hand. Press in the charging handle with the left hand. Find a patch of grass on dirt and mortar the rifle to extract the stuck cartridge. This was one of the design characteristics that Alex Robinson made in all of the XCR series of rifles. For those that have an XCR-L or XCR-M try the charging handle "forward assist." One of the great, but, little known things about the XCR rifle.
If Mike and Micah could find a committed producer, director, cast, and most importantly investors, they can make the next biggest independent film. 😂 I honestly love the cinematic, great and quality video and audio editing.

I've wanted to pick one of these up for a while and I'm so glad you finally did a review. Really gave me that little push I needed to get one. Left handed charging handles FTW.
Thank you for this video. I’ve gotten emails from Robinson Arms for years but have never bought one of their rifles because I hadn’t seen anyone review one. Like you said, they’re not an inexpensive gun and with AR’s being more available and cheaper they aren’t for everyone. But I’ve wanted one just to have something different. I may decide to get one some day.
I'm glad I have mine; I have the old first Gen (sub 200 SN), and I love it. I haven't gotten around to tuning it or anything serious, but it's a great platform for my 4x ACOG. The recoil has a light chonk comparable to the SCAR, the old FNC-esque folding stock is my favorite folder, and having a left-hand charging handle is very convenient for my style. I stand by this rifle, and I would feel I had done all that I could if fate called me and this is what I had.
I’ve had my XCR-L for roughly 9 years. It still is up to par with what’s popular today. Easy to adjust the gas block to your ammo type if you run a standard length upper. Gas block get HOT so you may need a glove depending on your grip type. Company is good to work with and replacement parts are always readily avail online. So even tho they aren’t a huge well known company, they’ve been around and always there to help customers.
Thank for the Review The vidéo reassured me in my choice for a XCR-M 308 win 16 inch. Thanks for the content; it's just great. Keep Going. Salutes from Normandy France.
A lot of the "AR alternative" rifles from the 2000's are wildly under-rated. I'm glad to learn that small technicalities and logistical things were the only things holding it back and not the actual performance or reliability of it.
Most underrated rifle ever made. One of the top 5 if not top 3 rifles ever made. 5x better then a scar. Looks incredible. Functions unbelievable. Legit a dream rifle of mine. Thier cobalt grey is unreal looking
Took a while to get in after ordering but was hitting MOA groups with my xcr-m and was able to get the rifle plus another caliber barrel for 1000 less than a scar, loving it so far.
I own the XCR-L in 5.56 and also ordered the 7.62 and 300 Blackout conversion kits (took about 7 months to get them). Super simple to change between calibers and a nice option to have a single rifle with multiple caliber capability. As GT noted the ergonomics are great. Really nice rifle.
Been waiting for this review for years, glad to finally see it, I've been doing research on it for a long time, and I even learned something new about the rifle in this video, I was actually planning on getting one for myself as a Xmas present
Own both XCR-L and Scar 16. Mr Robinson has gone back and forth on his product support of the gun and it has gone through many revisions. Both guns are good and have a niche. It’s a good “what if” thought experiment.
Robinson seems to have changed their pricing a little. M-Lok and Key-Mod are the same price now on their website. Glad I got mine before GT made a video about them. They are almost always on backorder so wait times are very long. Probably going to be longer now. Other nice points about the XCR: the stock and lower receiver are metal as opposed to plastic like on the SCAR. It's a little heaver but well balanced. As GT said, it is a thinner platform than the SCAR. Personally I like that as I think the SCAR is a little too thick. For those who do prefer key-mod, it is thinner still than with m-lok, though I think the m-lok version is the "just right" thickness. Part of why the XCR is able to be thinner than the SCAR is because of it not having an ambidextrous charging handle (I believe they explain this in their FAQ page). Glad GT pointed out the accuracy of the XCR. The M variant has had reviews demonstrating sub-moa accuracy (especially with 6.5 Creedmoor). Funny note, the original XCR's were made with barrels from FN. Robinson eventually changed to making his own barrels and was able to make the rifles even more accurate. While the XCR is more pricy than some of the high end AR's out there, it is cheaper than the SCAR.
@@kevn22 Ordered mine last year (they were still charging extra for the M-Lok version at the time but I went with it anyway). The fact that I got them before Christmas this year was a miracle. Got both the L and M. The L came in sooner as apparently someone else had placed an identical order but backed out of it. Even then, it was still several months after I placed my order that I got it. My local dealer mentioned some of the other customers have had to wait over 11 months.
@@kevn22 At least you placed your order before GT made this review. Wonder how many knee-jerk orders were placed because of this. Hopefully you get yours relatively soon!
I've owned a M for a couple years now. It works, haven't had any malfunctions that weren't directly attributable to user error, but the rifle is overweight and very gassy with a can. I've also had issues with the screws in my grip and stock coming loose and needing to be retightened. My initial customer service experience with robinson was ok, but it quickly soured.
I forgot about this rifle, and had no idea it was made in Utah, the last time I heard of it was it being used as a reference for CMMG's commission to design a believable futuristic rifle for Bohemia Interactive's new game. Yup, there's were the charging handle design came from, on top of overall look along side the ACR.

Great Weapon and worth the wait. The website is cool and interactive in the building process. Bought mine in 7.62x36. It is amazingly accurate for that round and very controllable. Just ordered the 5.56 conversion kit. And yea it is expensive, but I am like most people in that there is alway another thing I want to change or add to my AR. But other than the grip and an optic, there is nothing I feel like this weapon needs. I have a CZ Bren 2 which is not that much cheaper, and swapped out the safety leaver, trigger, hand-guard…. Ect. So the Bren, which is not as good has cost me more. American designed and made on top of that. !!!!!
The 7.62x51mm was in a large, scientific trial done by Karl from Inrange and Primary and Secondary. The result of that was that the XCR in 7.62x51mm was the winner of several categories and generally was the favorite.
I have an older M with a 13.7in barrel. It's a monster. Happy to see people agree with what I've been saying for years, it's ergonomically unrivaled and runs like a Singer. I just would mentioned the quick change barrel system, it's another rad feature.

When I owned one of these, I thought it was a great platform. I would have loved to keep my XCR but opted to sell it because the availability of parts and lack of service from the manufacture was unacceptable. I had one issue with the rifle and it was non-operational for months. The owner eventually made it right but I was scarred for life at that point. Hopefully, the business and service has improved. The rifle is truly great when it works.
@@timschneider5850 I had similar issues. Took me an eternity to get a firing pin that broke after a few hundred rounds… they sent me the wrong one and then I couldn’t get a hold of them. Just ended up buying the new BCG to solve the issue.

I’ve had one for a few years now, 9.5 suppressed 5.56. Let me say this it shoots smooth and accurate , the ergonomics are excellent. That’s about it. I’ve had nothing but problems, blown out extractor, stuck casings after it gets hot(steel or brass). I even went to the factory and worked with them to fix it. They machined some special parts and I took to a tactical response class. Broken firing pin on the last drill. The rifle has been a disaster but for some reason I love the thing.

When I used it at tactical response I didn’t have a single issue until the firing pin tip broke off, didn’t diagnose it until I got home and inspected/cleaned it. Like I said the controls/ergos are fantastic and it is the smoothest firing rifle I own, despite the ridiculous amount of issues I had with it and the not so great customer service in the beginning I still love it. Would I trust my life with it? Not my first choice, my custom built(by me) AR is my go to rifle.
@@Slay_No_More yea the customer service was horrendous until I went into their facility. They couldn’t ignore 225lb retired Ranger standing in their lobby 😂. I had a gen 1 XCR and it was a tank. A bit heavy but it was mega fun to shoot and I did several three gun comps with it. Was super great. We also had it microslicked with a Cerakote coating that inhibits carbon build up. It was the test rifle for the coating and we had 37000 rounds through the gun, not one cleaning fluid or oil ever touched the gun. Ran flawless... now that could be a testament to the rifle or to cerakote... or a combination.

The XCR had a run of popularity in Canada 10 years back as it was arbitrarily placed in a different classification than AR-15's which made it more attractive as it could be used anywhere & not just at a range (yes, our gun laws suck & have since changed to be even worse). I had one & liked it.
They'll be back
Did yall have to turn in AR and AK rifles?
@Félix Im in Brazil and I feel your pain brother, 9mm and .45 were restricted to army and police until 2 years ago (even in the range), and with today's election we might go back to only 20+ cm shotgun and .38 as short caliber.. in the mean time the good people of the favelas have AKs, ARs, SMGs, .50s, but god forbid the rest of us have (legally) a 9mm that we cant even carry, only from home to range lol
Pretty soon be able to buy all their XCRs

I may decide to get one some day.
Just got home from a weekend exercise, got the kit off, and a Garand Thumb video is in my notifications. Life is good.

Another piece of the lore has been given to us. How blessed we are this day!
Thank for the Review

Own both XCR-L and Scar 16. Mr Robinson has gone back and forth on his product support of the gun and it has gone through many revisions.
Both guns are good and have a niche. It’s a good “what if” thought experiment.
I had one of these when I lived in Utah. I absolutely loved it, even though it was a little heavy.

That "you're not really fine" edit absolutely killed me. Well done.
"My parents are LDS"
Yeah, that adds up.
hahaa the lore begins to complete itself
“Hello, my name is Elder Thumb”
@@GarandThumb Are they converts? Because I would assume that you would have just said you were raised LDS otherwise.
@@TheLadderman old comment I know, but I doubt it. A lot of us leave the church but don't feel like explaining things. So I usually phrase it the way he did even though I grew up in the church. I never had interest and left when I could but instead of revealing myself, I just live life. If people ask, I will say my mom was a Mormon, or my mom was a member. It just makes things easier to explain.
“It’s ok my parents are LDS, they’re actually pretty cool”😂
I love my xcr. I think it blows the scar out of the water. Kinda bummed they did this review because I was gonna order another one and I bet their about to get a lot harder to get after this review clues on everyone else.
As an XCR owner and member of the church of Jesus Christ of L.D.S. I loved the video. How have I not heard mountain Jew that is awesome!
My gun is a 7.5 inch in 7.62x39 it eats any ammo like a champ suppressed or unsuppressed and without gas in my face. I love it with Brown Bear 196g, quiet as can be. I got it for a backpack gun with a bit more kick and it has been perfect. Looking to get the 5.56 barrel for it. It swaps with one solitary bolt! So easy to swap I just have to.
Great video, a great cast, great rifle. Just received my XCR-L 5.56, and it's amazing.
I own the XCR-L and absolutely love it. One screw to change the barrel system out for a caliber change. There's more history with Robinson Armament and FN, and it's unfortunate. I instantly put on a @Lantac 556 Dragon. I am ordering the 7.5 300BLK kit.
