From what I understand and my play through, the Guns of Urban event didn't trigger because you didn't have enough money in bank for the event. It took me several times to figure out why I wasn't getting the event. Can be solved by not hiring armies or waiting til you have I think 0.3 years worth of ducats. I think it was around 76'ish. But just fun stuff learning the mechanics. I'm still trying to figure out how trade companies work for income/merchants.

Fun part of Ottoman-Pope alliance, that I discovered from my recent runs. There is an event, in first 20-30 years of the game I assume, where Pope propose to convert Ottoman leader to Christianity and pop up some catholic zealots. So there is legal way to switch ottomans to catholic at the start of the game and become HRE emperor without any cheesy moves.
Sadly, this event only converts your ruler, not the country. And as far as I know, the only event that converts the nation to the rulers faith is disabled you you're using one of the dlc, so without dlc shenanigans, to become emperor of the HRE, you still have to do rebel strats. If you know otherwise, I would love to hear how.
it's a historic theory/conspiracy kind of thing. it is believed by some that Pope sent a letter to Fatih Sultan Mehmet (Mehmet II the Conqueror) asking him to convert. Some say that the letter didn't make it to Konstantiniye. He is also believed to be liberal on matters of religion by some historians. His death was also pretty suspicious, he was hated by his not-favourite son. He also intended to march on Rome, as after his conquest of Constatinople he claimed the title Kayzer-i Rum (Caesar of Rome) and went onto conquer Otronto a fort on the tip of Italy. It was his childhood dream to become Roman Emperor, he was the first Sultan to have his portrait made (which is considered haram in islam), he had renovated the church of 12 apostles and renamed to Fatih (Conqueror) Mosque where the body of first christian roman emperor Constantin the Great was and was even buried ontop of him in accordance with his will (Which is pretty significant in Turkish Culture, mostly people's wives, husbands or children are buried ontop of each other).

Playing some of the lesser nations is always fun and IMHO more interesting that the obviously overpowered big boys.
Would love to see Saxony (become Polish king, rule or dismantle HRE and get a monopoly on porcelain?) or Takeda (unify Japan, as much cavalry as possible?)

Sad thing about Ottomans is that I feel like their way to play is pretty cemented. U just gotta conquer everything around u, there is no bigger nation u can form and once u are at a certain size it is kinda over because u are just running down everyone else. Idk about anyone else but the decadence mechanic also never really mattered to me

Decadence was great because of how inevitable it is. There is barely any ways to reduce it. But I guess pdx overdone it's inevitableness people are going full on accelerationist on decadence. I ince got ottoman decadence disaster IN 1560. Sure it sets me back for 40 years, struggling to get it off. But as soon as I do so. I just get ottoman empire with western tech and units. An unstoppable force by then.

I would have liked this to be a Mehmed’s Ambition achievement run.
I feel like if you can stabilise the Yuan (which will probably be 100x harder than stablising the Mandate in EU4), then the Yuan in china will probably be even stronger, since whilst plagued by instability, they had a robust army, and I feel the devs will give a few lil bonuses cos they do know we all are gonna wanna try restore the mongols from the Yuan.

If he makes a video, and no one enjoys or likes the video, but he spends all the time needed to record, edit, and post part 2 and 3 to not get any views (which hurts his youtube algorithm in the process) then he hurts his channel, where as if he asks for likes and comments telling him what ideas to do or to continue with a idea/video, it tells hum what videos to make for our enjoyment and helps him.

Please do a second part where you address the Decadence system. The one time I played the Ottos after the Domination DLC, the late-game disasters made me rage-quit more than a dozen times. The amount of rebels in those three events is unfathomable, it‘s like it‘s a bug.

I remember funny bug which worked for me cool. As Ottomans I invaded Moldova with Eyelet CB. While at war Moldova bacame a vassal of Poland and in the end of the war I pushed my demand on... Poland, which became my good little Eyelet

Constantinople was multicultural city not a greek city.
Its not that u nake it in one click but constantinople has been a city in decline and after the siege it had less than 40k population or so, so the ottomans migrated ppl there and made it their capital and after like a few decades the city had a population of around 200k so multiethnic ye
By the time Constantinople was conquered it was a 30K shitty village reduced to rubbles by Crusaders, the click means people migrating there and making it thrive again

giray family was second option in the empire, if ottoman dynasity gone they would took over the empire. as a turkic khanate who based their family tree to genghis khan, they had the strongest legitimacy. even some plots in the throne could be done by them.

ottomans attacked hungary by the suggest of french king. france lost the war on the western side and the french king was in prison. he wrote a letter and sultan accepted his wish and french ottoman alliance started.
normally ottomans were not thinking to go war with habsburgs (central europe).
they were believing that ottoman reached its natural borders in the west.
afterwards hungary became ottoman. and the western front reached to krakow and vien.
during german turkish war (sieges of vien etc) france gave a port for the ottomans near marsille to prevent spanish aids to reach habsburgs.
it was a first multi country war including poland germans italians spain algeria balkans crimean tartars and the help of france. almost all europe was at war in vien front.

The event to just take Konstantinople and get the rest of Byzantium as a vassal is quite beneficial: 0 AE (due to event -> more conquests without coalition) AND more importantly: you get to keep the 2nd. level of hagia sophia (worth 2500 gold) - would get reduced to lvl 1 otherwise. Also there is no need to wait for other castles to fall, saving a few months of time. Only downside: white peace with Athens. Bonus: Diplo-Vassalize Dulkadir for the first lvl of the hospital (worth 1000gold).

aq(ak) and qara(kara) words are also direction words like north west but i dont remember which one are they it doesnt actually mean white or black
black sea means kara deniz in turkish which (kara is north) meditterenean is white sea(ak deniz) white is west black is north

Aaaah, f it. My last run on EU4 will be a world conquest attempt with my favorite nation.
Only thing bad about it is decadence and it take a while to end it by completing the mission tree about it.Especially if you didnt hear about decadence events before.
They need to make the ottomans inner strife a tad more effective. It almost does nothing. I usually go the Prussia to Germany route, which can go head to head with the ottomans
In age of reformation you get "Zenith of ottomans" which still decreases decadence. You need to go to age of absolution to actually show that mechanic

Do not ally with France in the beginning. He invites you to his war with England!. Ally with bohemia instead.
Dulkadir and Fezzan will easily become vassals in starts.
Lastly, if you increase your relationship with Crimea to 150 (alliance) and the favor is 60, you complete a mission. This mission ensures that Crimea will come to you as a vassal.(when the events come)
Note: Don't forget to convert vassals into eyalets

The alliance with the pope is kind of historical. Many Italian states played with the idea of allying the Ottomans to counter French, Imperial and Spanish ambitions.
bellend is two words, bell end, meaning the end part of a bell, which is the thing makes actual physical contact with the metal wall of the bell, resulting in a ding dong sound when it hits the bell.
