as a proper riga enjoyer, i see all the time the mistake that youtubers make to not leave the tradeleague of lubeck after you joined the empire. a tradeleague is a collection of opms that all give there tradepower to the tradeleader for protection of the entire tradeleague. this means that after you joined the empire, you can simpy leave the tradeleague and get instantly about 20% tradepower in the balticsea and 5% in lubeck. thats about 4 ducates you are missing out on after 2 years of gametime... and with later missions, you can simply take over the tradeleague even though you are not part of it to get alot more tradepower
You can also get Gotland this way into your Riga trade league after goverment reform, and your take over Lübeck league mission do not need to share the same trade league with Lübeck, only got relationship.
Something really fun to do is in multiplayer one person plays Riga the other play Gotland. Riga will temporarily become Gotland's vassal because Gotland has a mission that buffs the province of Riga for the rest of the game.
As soon as you have the defensive Empire membership (or even before) you should leave the Trade League with Lübeck - that's taking half of your trade power
I really like the historical overviews you occasionally do in the intros of your vids. I've learned a bunch just from those little overviews. I'd legitimately be interested in some kind of EU4 History Class series on the channel, and hopefully other subscribers would be too if you decided to do something like that lol. Keep up the great content!
4:10 Mr Lubi, you are wrong about the estates. You can immediatly give out two Manaprivileges. You want the Crownland to be 0, because you need 30. Estate statutory rights triggers within a couple of months with 0 crownland, giving you the 30 needed instantly (obviously dont seize land before this). Since Riga is a OPM, it is not effected by Estate statutory rights debuffs. So using this you get the equivalent of starting with 50% crownland instead of 20%, with no downside other than having to cancel the privilege in a couple of decades Plus with a tiny bit of good rng and loan funded presents, you can claim the polish alliance within a couple of months, allowing you to vassalize Livonian Order and Teuton easily within a decade (basically as soon as Polands truce runs out and you get ten favors). So you dont have to sit around poking stones while you wait for the needed techs
Wouldn't develop pre 01.01.1450 and renaissance spawn, and "ally lübeck", leave trade league, to actually get rigas trade power back. And mid game goal, riga into Lübeck, riga/gotland/danzig can form lübeck, and get lübeck mission tree on top of riga mission tree.
Lubi: i must stay 5 provinces or less or i wont get the bonuses Also Lubi: if they don't exists i get core instead of subjugation and it's better to get the cores -.-
Thats his biggest mistake on this video. Having cores its much better, its true but not for Riga, you can subjugate them and also make them your historical friends. Its so worth to vasallise them.
I was playing around with Castile the other day. You can pretty consistently force an early Iberian wedding by triggering the Castillian civil war and making sure the Isabel event triggers as a consequence.
The Rigan mission tree can take you well into the mid-game. The reformation missions give crazy buffs and are long-term goals that can take a while to complete
Anytime I'm playing Russia/Sweden/Poland, Riga's one of my favorite vassals. They REALLY punch above their weight class for just a single relations slot.
I had funny rng and my Riga was added to HRE without event. I was improving relations with Austria and just became HRE member. Then reward from event gave 75 each manpionts.

hi im new to game im trying to figure out how to get elector as riga as evry elector is so far any advaice or could u show in your next videos if posible about riga going colonial
Riga/Gotland/danzig can form Lübeck/hansa, so it is better to finish there mission trees, (Gotland and Riga are very strong as pirate or non pirate), than form "Hansa", which is a tier 1 goverment, get full lübeck mission tree, do it, than swith prussia, do there mission tree, go germany, "mission" tree". So you can stack 4 full, super strong mission trees which each other, with zero culture swift.
@@maras3naraz p.s. and forgot, hansa gets lübeck mission tree, including the "queen of hansa" mission, who brings all your trade league members into a vassal swarm for you, and adds +6 dip slot, to handle it. So you have liv/tauts as super loyal mega vassal, plus all the super rich free city inside the HRE, as super loyal mega vassal swarm. Biggest I ever did as Lübeck was a 21 member trade league, which i forced into vassal through "queen of hansa".

@@Oujouj426 I never said anything about them being a majority. A rich minority still would have had leverage to do SOMETHING when the Reich came marching in. Silence, however, is the option they chose.
In the beginning of ww1 Germans were around 20% of Riga citizens and 11% in all Latvian territory. Before huge industrialisation in late 19th century and mass immigration from Russia, yes, Baltic Germans were around 60% in all major cities and around 25% in all Latvian territory
