I confirmed their M18 pruning hatches has a metal plate for the studs. I can't find anywhere if they updated the chainsaw or top handle chainsaw with a metal plate. Really questioning why they wouldn't install a metal plate for the studs especially on a fullsized tool.
Mine also leaks a lots of bar oil just sitting and I asked Milwaukee about it and they told me it’s in the manual to drain the bar oil after using. Completely unacceptable in my opinion and have not been able to fix it with a new one ring.
That’s definitely a cop out with Milwaukee. Who the heck drains their bar oil on any saw? It’s a total pain in the neck. I find myself not reaching for this saw much anymore. It’s to much drama to upkeep it.
Mine also has the same problem with the studs. Milwaukee really blew it on this aspect of the design. I have many Milwaukee tools and this is really the biggest issue I have ever come across. What a shame on an otherwise good tool.
I just bought one a few weeks ago and used it today for the first time. The chain came off 4 times cutting down a shrub and oil is leaking out of it, a lot. I'm returning it. It came with a blower that works great. I'm so bummed. It was not cheap.
@DemoDad101 I turned it on its side and the oil stopped leaking. Still returning it because of the chain falling off. Maybe it's a bad build because so many people don't seem to have this problem.
@KollynJ I turned it over to the left. Of course my wife moved it for some reason and set it down on my garage floor and it left a puddle of oil that will leave a stain.
@@steelewheels1365 I think it's a pretty big deal that an electric chainsaw not leak. One of the big selling points is that its "less fuss than a gas engine".
I used mine to cut down some tree branch over growth, and then as i was downsizing the brush to load onto a trailer the chain derailed. “More than a home owner needs”

It’s pretty wild. They claim this is a pro-grade tool. Without a metal stud plate….its not even home owner grade imho.
What do you do if one of the studs, which was shown in your video, is slipping and you can't get the nut holding the bar to loosen?
Must be the stud is spinning in the housing? Not sure what you can do. It’s new saw time.

I wonder how much more it would have cost them to do a steel plate with the studs machined into it.
How’d you fix it?

All my Milwaukee chain saw variants leak oil like it’s their job. Definitely below the quality I’m familiar with in their other tools.

@@steelewheels1365what size does it have to be on to not leak?

Was yours damaged?
Absolute trash. How many hands did this go thru and no one actually tried it!? Nope just send us another $400! Never again Milwaukee.
I’ve had several Milwaukee tools that were complete failures. That’s a video for the future!
