Very well done!!!!! Great way of showing how mic in different price ranges perform. We have 2 of the GTZ 87s and they are outstanding mics for the price for sure! It's really a great time to make music with all of the affordable recording options.
Much appreciated! I think too often, price tags are assumed to directly correlate to performance quality outcome. Sonically, if it sounds/feels good, it is good to me. I’m in the process of reviewing that mic in totality. Thank you for supporting the channel, checking out the video, and commenting.
No problem! I feel like there’s a fair amount of this range of gear covered but there’s always a lane. Thanks for checking out the, commenting and stopping by the channel.
The Aston Spirit is actually one of my favourite Microphones in the $400, and under range. I like it a lot better than the Origin, and if someone can find one used for $200-250 it's definitely a worthwhile Mic in my opinion. I have much nicer Mic's, but still find myself using it quite a bit, and though I don't use it a tonne on Lead Vocals, I actually really like it for Backup Vox/Ad Libs, Drum Overheads, Outside Kick, Room Mic's, Guitar Amp.
I’m in the same boat and that’s primarily the reason I don’t readily get rid of gear. I’ve found so much use for pieces like this that served a legit purpose. I tossed this on percussion once because both my 414s and 214s were already assigned… this thing did the job for sure. It helped to have a decent chain to run it through but I’m not one to write off gear based on price… I’ll chuck it if sonically I can’t make it work and that’s pretty tough to do in my opinion. Definitely appreciate the interaction! Thanks for stopping by the channel and checking out the video
It does matter but I haven’t had an issue with the mic in this video. I will note I have much more expensive mics that are a lot noisier than this one though. I try to strategically use the noisy mics I have
@ Thanks for the response. Always good to hear from experienced guys & excellent singers like you! Between the Manley reference mic & Telefunken copperhead, which would you pick for your singing ? I’m trying to get their GTZ clones !
@@gaboonschoolofmusic9848 I can appreciate this comment for sure. Where I think these mics would allow someone to capture a source, I think there are much better options on the market

That pre amp makes all those mics sound about the same except the last one.
That makes sense to me be it they’re all around the same price point.
What about floor noise? Does it really matter?
