Btw I'll add that I felt the Atlantis in G was most flattering for your voice with just the preamp. With the weight tank I preferred the Atlantis in N and the Eden in F. If you wanted it a little more forward you could do a soft boost to the highs or run it through Clariphonic or Aphex and you're probably right there with the Eden in F.

I agree. The Eden on F sounds much better than the Atlantis on F. However, the Atlantis on N sounds much better than the Eden on N. Great video. Thanks!

@joebelmaati I typically track final takes with some EQ on the front end. I usually bypass that in my review videos but I feel like both mics could’ve used a touch of EQ treatment on the modes you’ve mentioned and the results would aid in reaching a desired tonal goal. Hey man thanks for the love and checking out the video! I recently worked on some holiday music and I used the TLM49 for my lead Vox on a tune and it performed gloriously lol. I think the price point puts a few folks off concerning both mics but they definitely deliver! Thanks for checking out the channel! You know but I tell everyone, the interaction goes a long way!

@@LinkbruhProd I say it all the time… I can do ALOT with the wa14. I’ve used 1073 style preamps, tube pres (UA610 & Manley Force Pres) and api 312 pres with that mic and I wasn’t disappointed at all

I do feel like the XL-II is too bright on most sources. And honestly the XLS takes EQ processing very well in my opinion. I have 2 of them and they get used regularly!

@ So, ifyou could have just 1 mic, which of all would it be? U87ai, C414 XLS, TLM 103, M49, JZ BH2, Some Warm Audio… ? Just 1, but specially for voices and sometimes acoustic guitar…

@@MrRaphaelRobinson hmm that’s interesting because I checked mine and they sent me the parts that they replaced. Do you think this is a one off situation? They modded my wa8000 and it was fine. I haven’t had any issues from it either? I’m not trying to discredit your situation. Just posing other questions in response. Thank you for sharing. I’m not in favor of bad gear

@@CarlMooreMusic That was the weird thing. I also had my WA8000 modded by them and I got all the original parts back with it. When I got the wa1b back I only got the original tubes back and I thought this was odd. So for months I have been dealing with this weird low end on vocals and no matter what I could not edit it out. so I finally opened it up and nothing was done on the inside except for putting in the Telefunken tubes, and on top of that they were bad. On top of that they do not want to refund the money. Not sure if this is a one off situation but I definitely want to put the word out there since it is a lot of money on top of the cost of the unit itself.

@@officialdiomer it’s super consistent! The mic takes processing well too. Build quality is solid and their customer service is great. All and all, I plan to get another one

Thank you honestly for the kind words. And I’m glad you stopped but the channel and checked out the video. In my opinion these are two of the best of both worlds mics. They cover so much ground and do an awesome job at it. I’m glad I have them in my arsenal! Grateful for the interaction!

@@Viibe_4422 no I can’t say that I find myself adding high gain amounts. If I’m using a 1073 stylist pre, between 40-45 db works. 50 can start to break up depending on the volumes going in from the source. With tube style Pres, My saturation is typically at alike 2-3 o’clock. And I can dial back the output if I want to drive a little more. Same with api style pres that I have and use with this mic. What pre are you using with it? Glad you like it!

@@CarlMooreMusic totally agree, but important is that delivers price/ratio more than a U87. For me the U89 is better than U87, just the capsule differs and is more liniar across the spectrum. Used much on orchestra. Try one if you have the chance! Same is for the Gefell brand, even though is same level of quality as Neumann is not much known...

@cristian-marius-albu I’ve only been fortunate to experience a u89 in a session at a studio. I’ll have to do some digging to find one a good condition to try for myself. Another RUclips user was supposed to get me connected with someone they knew connected to Gefell. I believe it was licensed reseller of some sorts but I never heard back from them either. I’m definitely curious because I’ve heard good things with them concerning quality to price ratio
