Awesome vid man! Definitely looks like the Link Mod Max is an option for anyone wanting the C800g sound without that price tag. And thanks for mentioning that you requested them to tune this mic to what you wanted. That's helpful for anyone looking into this and great to know they provide that service.
Those are two tonally different mics. I always start with the source being captured, then I look at what my tonal goal is. I’ve got both mics and I’ve used them both on vocals. I’d say, TLM if I want something smoother up top and needs a mid range push. I’d say wa8k if the source is darker and needs presence boosting along with the top end. I’d have processing to record on both mics so that makes a difference too

I sure can. I have access to the original Townsend L22 but not the new version.
Sing man! Lol
If you had to choose between the wa 8000 vs tlm 49, what would be your go to?

@@CarlMooreMusic Awesome. Thanks for the insight!
the link mod sound just like the Sony 800 . the slate don't have smooth tube sound like the mod. the link mod sound good threw these Adam speakers.
Appreciate you for checking out the video and commenting.
I definitely feel like the Link Mod Max puts the WA8000 in a usable state.
