    First of all, nice idea, good selling points ;-). Even if it lets you make a mistake with linement belt adjustment (practice should make it ok). However, it is great for the telephone pole tree type. When you need to mauver - you need third rope (period). "Just move it" will not work because both lines are connected to the same panel..., your weight on it and it will not go eazy.
    ++ anything ! not attacher to your saddle/pack/harness have a chance to stay home/truck/box and miss the tree ;-)

    Awesome product! I think it also solves one sticking problem of keeping your fingers from going underneath your tether while advancing it. CGM and a few other companies have made great products that solve that problem, but this also acts a tether stopper, gear hanger, and accessory belt. It also looks like the product will make advancing your tether much quicker and more efficient for both one stickers and two tether climbers. I'm looking forward to testing it.

      how would this work for one sticking? I would love to use something like this for it but you'd still need more of your tether in a dump pouch on your saddle and then how hard would it be to pull it down since it is gripping the tree from the steel spring? my thoughts are you would likely need 2 pull down ropes then... 1 to detach the slap strap and 1 to loosen your tether but it also depends how hard it is to pull the tether through the slap strap still

    • @Bubakarrr
      @Bubakarrr 2 месяца назад

      @@ryansullivan9413 Good points that I didn't consider since I climb and descend with a sladder or two tethers. For storage, you'd probably want a bigger pouch than what it comes with or store the rest of the rope on a dump pouch elsewhere. For descending, I think you could pull the enough rope out and reattach to the tree without the spring portion on the tree and rappel and retrieve your line the same way you normally would. I will need to play around with it to see if it would work the way I envision it.

    Going to put my 2 cents in here. It promotes just moving the slap strap up the tree WITHOUT adjusting the linesman belt. This is bad technique. It allows you to keep a bunch of slack in the linesman belt. If you take a fall the slap strap is NOT acting as a tree squeeze. It's not going to keep you in place. As you lean into the tree it's crucial that you adjust your linesman belt. Most people do not use their linemans belt correctly in the first place. They step up and with one hand try to drag the linesman belt up the tree. You're supposed to put both hands on the linemans and flip it up the tree then adjust. If you use the linesman correctly is doesn't fall down. If you want it for the tether/linesman management and gear strap, that's great. But it's not keeping you safer when climbing.

      I agree. And another downside is you could easily forget this or have it pop off your body as you move through the woods. With a saddle and pouches installed with lineman’s rope girth hitched to the saddle you can’t forget it at the truck or lose it. Cool idea, but it’s not perfect
