I am 62 years old and I still saddle hunt. I never thought about my scent being on my rope. I will always pull it up in the future.

I am surprised the first guy didn’t attach his tether before stepping onto his platform

Great video guys i appreciate it. I have the Plateau pack and i find that having my sticks attatched at the bottom of the pack and me wearing my saddle walking in the sticks push the saddle down my waist. Do you have any suggestions? I tried straping my sticks to the top of the pack but the platform jept hitting it and it was noisy. Thanks

Good comparison video. With having to walk through heavy cover, and concerns about how high you can climb, have any of you tried 2TC?

    Great video.
If it’s legal shooting hours, now is in my hand and platform is on my pack.
If it’s before legal hours platform is in my hand and all gear is placed on my body, harness so I just get to the tree and start climbing. Don’t take my pack off my back. Everything goes up the tree with me.

Hmmm. Never tried the tether at belly button area. Increases the distance you might fall.

They say u should step down off stick onto your platform, not up and then down searching for step when getting down in dark ...

I don’t climb with my backpack because I got caught in between tree limbs and I was stuck. I couldn’t go up and I couldn’t go down and then my Line Man belt got stuck around my bottom stick step where my foot was and so I was just stuck in the tree Could not go up could not go down and the buckles on my backpack were too tight and I could not undo them because I didn’t have enough slack. My brother ended up coming happened to get me down to get my backpack unstuck.
After dark for about an hour

For short people like me, gotta run aiders. Have to in order to get decent height. And I'd NEVER climb like this hunting alone. That said neither person has a path to ground...so you're asking for it. You're kinda F'd with a bad failure at height. Only takes one, and it happened to me, but luckly my system had a path to ground. Saved my butt big time. And never climbed with a backpack.

Sliding down a tree after a kick out is much more comfortable with an 11 mil lineman’s than an 8 mil lineman’s.
    Trust issues. lol

I hate pine trees they are too loud to climb with a climber or saddle anywhere close to bedding

You guys should try the S.M.A.R.T. one stix method. But it might be too easy for you.
