Getting into a saddle for the first time this year and trying to learn as much as I can ahead of time. This is by far the most comprehensive video I've found, you hit all the stuff I could think of. If you don't already have one, you should make a video of how you climb all the way to hunting height with the sticks, awesome vid!
Amsteel is what your bridge is made. Amsteel is not suitable for using with a ropeman1 or other mechanical prusik for several reasons. I think your tether and lineman are both sterling climbing rope like rock climbers use. You mentioned it at the start when you where going over your setup. Sorry for bringing it up. I use the same tether and lineman with a mechanical prusik too, but my bridge setup is a little different. I love you guys though and I've been a huge fan since y'all started. Glad you guys decided to give us some summertime content.
Possibly the best saddle hunting, how to video I’ve seen in years. Your video and audio will also excellent but your content was superb. Keep up the good work. I learned a lot and I’ve been saddle hunting for a couple years😮
Thank you. I’ve watched many videos and was about to give up bc I never saw a good one that walked thru the process as clearly as you just did. I felt like an idiot after most of them. After yours I got into the tree and it made sense. Thank you You have a gift for teaching.
KC is the best teacher on RUclips. I feel like my brother is teaching me how to do something. You can tell he’s been camp counselor or worked with youth at some point.
I’m in the saddle now for the 3rd time and have been watching vids and this one was by far the best one! It helped me get comfortable and showed me how to take sitting breaks if needed! And those shooting angles also are very helpful! Thank you for posting!
Excellent info and well-explained. I recently had a buck come in at my 4 o'clock I am a right-handed archer also. I was knees to the tree and couldn't stand for fear of detection. When the deer went behind a clump of brush I passed the bow from my right hand to left over the tether as you showed at the 1 o'clock shot you took. It was not comfortable but I made it happen. Saddle hunting isn't for sissies. There is a lot of freedom to move about but there's a lot of stuff that can go wrong when the deer shows up unannounced in the wrong zone you set up for.
Another good tip if you get bad poison ivy and poison oak is to make sure your tree is clear of that also! 😂 I see the the he’s demonstrating on isn’t but some people don’t get it as bad as others
@@TheElementWild I just stay away from hairy vines. Poison ivy is everywhere here in Texas, and they have hairy vines when they get big on trees like that. That one there looks just like poison ivy. Even the vines without leaves can get ya!
You were REALLY prepared to take a #1 from the saddle from the start 😂 I think I got poison ivy watching you touching all over that huge vine 😂. Thanks for the tips. I started saddle hunting last season. LOVE IT ✌
Genesis 3D makes an excellent lightweight accessory called a Hip Pinch Eliminator that spreads that bridge out even more. Makes a huge difference in comfort level even if hip pinch isn’t a major issue
I set my sticks up 1/4 of the tree away on my left so I can just loosen my bridge up and swing around the tree. That way the tree is always in front of you and there is less movement. You gotta make sure ur sticks are on solid though and leaning that hard can be uncomfortable.
I don’t think it’s poison ivy. It’s creeper vine that can irritate the skin but not as bad as poison ivy/oak. I’ve always called it Georgia creeper but some people call it Virginia creeper.
How do you pee or get in a pocket. Seems like it would be hard to keep good form shooting my bow on offhand side dangling from ropes. Don't get the interest bow hunting while dangling
Practice makes perfect. While I get in the tree I practice for the first 5 minutes and that 1 o’clock gets easier. Always practice in the tree once up because tree aren’t the same. I shot my buck in the position. Check out the hunt on my channel.

Awesome video. As a new saddle hunter this answers a lot of questions I had!

Haha! I do believe that’s just Virginia Creeper.

Same here he had to of gotten it. Great video
Great video, your Mic and editing is great! Despite the wind we can hear you nice and clear. I appreciated that haha
Need the seatbelt tip today 🤦♂️ Thank you! Lesson learned 🦌 🏹
Those saddles are game changers !
Thanks
This is the content that i have been searching for.
Actually shooting from a saddle.
Wonderful perspective.

A sailors bosun chair works like a charm also !!
Good video. I personally like to try to and set my sticks to my left side so I can step onto it to make my weak side shot.
Great idea!
Really enjoyed this video, great presentation!!!!!!!
I got a wildcountry ropeman ascender 1, everyone seems to say i should only use it fo my linesman rope, and my tether should be a prusik
Well done! Thanks for the info.
Grate video thanks for your time and advice!!!
Top grade explanation.
Thanks.
great instructional video. TY.
Great bit of teaching K.C.!
Solid video dude! Thanks!
Thanks for the info, really helpful
INFORMATIVE! Thank you!

Nice video, watch out for those poison vines going up the tree. Thanks for sharing some good tips!

Gotta zip your fly lol, great demonstration definitely plan to try one out
I went the single rope technique instead of the climbing sticks. I'm ramping up for my first successful hunting season. I'm open to advice and ideas.
Great video! are you wearing the FL origin hoody in this??
Thanks! Yes. That’s an Origin Hoody. Great piece of gear.
Is that the 8mm rope that cruzr sends with it ? I just got the cruzr and trying to find the mechanical prussic for that size rope not having any luck?
The “kong duck” is what we’ve always used and they work great with the 8mm ropes.
What kind of climbing sticks are those?
What model CRUZR Saddle is this?
XC
Good job
Where can I get that brand of saddle ?
It’s a Cruzr Saddle! Tell ‘em we sent ya. They’re great people!
It is a great low maintenance
What is the axle to axle lenth
33”
Been looking more and more at a saddle...great info, thanks.
The CRUZRs are awesome!
Where’s the horse?
We save the horse.

Those shots look kinda hard.
Just the dude… he’s hard.
@@TheElementWild Hard to look at
Got'em
Yikes, shooting right at the cameraman. That’s really dangerous guys. Mahhhh
It’s ok. He is very committed.
Kkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Anyone notice the poison ivy
Got a bunch of internet botanists on here that don't know the difference between three leaves and five lol.
Hard for me to focus when I saw that poison ivy vine...yikes!
