- The new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Intelligent Electric Hybrid has an economy of 27.97kpl which equates to a theoretical range of over 1300km on a tank of petrol. We're putting the numbers to an extreme test attempting to go from snow to sand to sea in just one tank. Rahul Kakar is the man behind the wheel.

Your efforts in portraying all the details is really appreciated but at the same time I wonder how practical it is to drive in such economical speeds in the expressway... Like if given a choice to reduce the travel time or to increase the mileage in scenarios of long road trips, one would choose to reduce the travel time more often than not. Cheers to your patience though!

This vehicle is seriously for senior citizens only. Slow, Efficient and silent 🙌
Highly impressive, 1779.3 km with just 40.47 litres of petrol.
So the mileage efficiency is little less than 44 km per litre (43.96)
The avg fuel efficiency is more than my activa 5g... amazing 😮
Hyryder and Grand Vitara have really changed the way people look SUVs in India. Props to Maruti Suzuki for the design, and Toyota for the Technology.

So, full tank RANGE would be = 1978 kms.
[ Mileage = 43.96 kmpl, fuel tank = 45 liters ]

Grand Vitara - the only thing I found negative about this SUV is its never ending waiting period 😕😄
The patience needed to drive the car on the highway at 35 kmph is rare.
Can Autocar do hypermiling runs on EVs? from the big battery BYD e6 all the way down to a Tiago MR 19.2KWH version. Let us see how much you can stretch an EV's range!
What's like the top speed you're doing? You need to maintain a minimum speed, don't you?

Lift 1.5 I4 (62 kWh MHEV) 5-Dr Compact SUV (RHD) with the 6-speed auto could seriously do with the AllGRIP® 4WD & a 1.0 in. or 2.0 in. suspension lift . . . & 33.0 in. M/T radial tyres . . . instead of 4WD being available only in the 5-speed manual transmission variant . . .

230 kms in 7hrs welp that's a bit stretch, the performance is none ig because of fuel efficiency
30 ke speed pe chalana must be a nightmare.
Mileage is good but like i just read a comment it is for senior citizen because driving at avg speed of 30-35kmph on highway is bit too much for everyone to achieve.
Regardless it is a good achievement for Grand Vitara this is the 3rd video i have seen in which car have achieved 1300+ km range.
Set cruise control at 40kmph on highway and maybe you can achieve a bit more out of it 😅

Great Rahul,the Range (One full tank mileage -supported by battery ). of Grand vitara strong hybrid is awesome,thanks for sharing the full tank capability of Marutis’s flagship SUV with us.
However, what would also be more important from customer perspective is the per km running cost(petrol + electricity units consumed for battery charging)).It will be very helpful if you can do some approx calculations for us.
Also I m interested to know how many times did you charge the battery and for how long,was it during your night halts only or more frequent during day running also.And what was the battery level at the end of each day run.
