I’ve had the grey and the green one for about 5 years. Still look great today - awesome quality. Nice review too!

I have this very one, and the green version. They are great sweatshirts, soft, thick with great fluffy interior.
Highly recommended. I've been debating with my self as to which to get next, red or navy.

Definitely looking forward to getting this into circulation, warm and comfy!

Also, this winter I bought one of their sweatpants, the ones that look like the ones Ritchie from Happy Days, or Rocky when he was poor, used to wear. They’re made with the same quality and the same care, and (unfortunately) with the same fanatical historical purism: they’re drawstring pants, and only drawstring, meaning no elastic like every other drawstring pants I’ve ever owned. It’s not practical at all, which is a pity because I really love the look.

I only really wear sweatpants at home, but prefer a modern tapered cut... no elastic would not be good!

Merz b schwanen loop weave some of their sweatshirts, t shirts Henley's etc. They shrink after the first wash. Haven't noticed a difference as far as keeping the shape goes. Very comfortable high quality and long lasting. Loop weave is the way to go. The stitching from the neck to shoulder is known as overlocking.

If Denimio hadnt restocked this one I would have definitely been looking at Merz b Schwanen

The fit on the Merz, particularly on the neck and shoulders is far poorer in my view.

Brilliant review as usual, and it's a lovely sweatshirt. Have you ever bought any Nigel Cabourn stuff? I like his Japanese repro style with modern twists.

Sunspel, Hebtroco and Burrows and hare do a similar loop sweatshirt

The Sunspel is a substantial cut below in quality. I own both.

I have a couple of these which I bought from various places (best deals from Hinoya and Rodeo Japan online). I like them, but I’m in between an S and an M - the S being slightly too small for my tastes and the M being slightly too baggy. Put the M in the dyer the first time, shrunk a bit but nothing crazy. But enough to not want to repeat the process with the S. Now I always tumble dry my M-sized ones. After a couple of months of washing weeklu, the fabric is developing, not what you’d call pilling, but it’s definitely looking a bit more worn in. Both yours and mine seem to have a ripple effect on the collar, no idea what that is. I only have it on my grey ones funnily. Still, a very versatile top, and I’ll probably buy more eventually, both plain ones like these and also the ones with the graphics on them, both military, Peanuts-inspired ones and so on. Thanks for the review though, you don’t find many reviews on this kind of thing.

Thanks for watching.. I think I am between M and L but going a shade larger you can work with, layering etc

I tried one on at American Classics in London and I think I had to size up two. I think this model seems to come up particularly small.

I wish they made loop wheel shirts in my size. The chests are just too small and they shrink on top of it.

What chest measurement are you? I am not sad to hear there may be a little shrink, Medium would not have been right, but I think this one could look good losing a little in the body and sleeve

@@DevonReviewer 52 inch chest but 34 inch waist. I spent many years doing push-ups and pull-ups.
A friend of mine wants me to do RUclips because I've struggled so much with heritage clothing. He thinks my journey could help others.
