When do I start airbending? :)
Literally that’s the reason why I’m watching this video 😂
Hello fellow air nomads
@@savyluwiii Hello fellow air nomad! 😊
Lmao loving these reply’s
You can’t air bend till you master this
I’m gonna master each vid by watching them over and over for a month and moving on and becoming a fighter
So are you then going to fight Courtney??
But you dead.
metaldude21 apparently not!

have you done it?
This is the best staff spinning tutorial I've seen yet. Very clear step by step instructions.

Persevere guys! Complete beginner here - I made a staff out of a wooden dowel + hockey tape for $10 the day after I saw her "make your own staff" video, accidentally hit various parts of by body a few times while practicing, scared my cat by dropping the staff loudly on the floor, and overall felt the classic frustration of a steep learning curve from *not knowing anything* about a skill to *being able to do one basic skill.* After about 4 days of practicing for a few minutes at a time throughout the day, I can do this skill smoothly & quickly and it feels great! Thanks for these videos Michelle, u a queen
Made mine yesterday, working on this today!! Would love to see ur progress!!
I grabbed a stick thingy i found outside, yk for free :D
how are you doing now?
2:25 i swear i slowed this part like 7 times and my brain is not processing how mind blowing this is

What she says after about "this no mans land of... stuff" is exactly what I was doing lmao
Try watching Jake Likes Lightsabers shes just keeping the hilt outside of her arm

Wow no offense but that is a bad attitude. Of course you guys can build these skills and learn.
It’s amazing how simple this Manoeuver is when it’s broken down into steps but it looks so complicated, flows and professional when you simply speed it up once you’ve learnt it
That is crazy, it looks complex but you make it simple. Thanks.
@RAHUL Raj not all people have been doing this since they were 10. it may be easy for you to do this but it was also probably hard when you or those kids learned too. this stuff can be hard to learn for some people. don't insult people just because they're learning how to do something you may be experienced at
I want to be able to do this, but I’m lost whenever I see the wrist moving so fluidly. I need big help
I just don't understand how she makes it go so fast
@@_ductape_471 just make a fast infinity symbol with the tip in flow withe the staff
Thank you for this tutorial. I've watched a bunch of other tutorials but, just using clock references helps tremendously. You do a wonderful job of teaching!
You rock!! thank you for making you teachings available to all of us!! you are impacting the world more than you know!
After all you have already taught me through your live streams, I find it worthwhile to revisit the basics, see things from an experienced perspective, and find points for improvement: specifically for me the rev. Fig 8 and the transition between them. Thank you!
Thank you for your detailed instructions. Makes this easy to understand and fun to add to my own staff training
Fascinating! Million thanks. I've just started learning and I found your tutorials. Your skills are amazing and your teaching is the best.
This was so helpful. I’ve been learning bo staff for 3 years now (via youtube), and my one hand figure eights are fast but hard to control. Staff size is a little shorter than I am. I actually learned from Jake Mace (which I now see why he’s gotten a lot flack for his channel) and I was teaching myself 80% of the time instead of actually learning from someone else. A few days ago I received the steel collapsible bo staff and I really enjoy it. I’m gonna subscribe definitely and relearn my basic forms though. Thank you for the clear and precise instructions. Best bo staff video I’ve yet to see. (And I’ve seen at least 100.)
My pleasure. Thanks for watching!
jake mace is a fraud!!
So 100% Jake Mace just wants clout and is not actually wanting to teach? A "fake expert", of you will

Watching your videos is really helping to improve my bo staff skills.
Say hello to your newest apprentice.
Peace out!!!
Awesome verbal instruction. I've already watched 10 video on this, finally i understand!!
I'm practicing everyday this tutorial, and getting better. Thanks so much for teaching us. ❤
You got this!
You are amazing and you explain things so well in your videos. Thank you for these tutorials!
Excellent job teacher, you are the best, you explained the basic, follow in slow motion, then full speed ...
Thankyou!!! This is the best tutorial I have found- i started lockdown wanting to learn to spin a staff but gave been in a splint for ages. My hand is finally free so here goes "spin class" :D
Thank you very much Michelle! This and your other videos help with my Aiki training!😊
Thanks Michelle, I’m recovering from shoulder surgery. Decided to learn staff spinning for exercise before my injury. I really appreciate your clear, relaxed presentation. You do a great job of patiently demonstrating the motions for us beginners. I’m two or three months away from safely doing this with my recovering shoulder but I’m starting with my other side. Big thumbs up.
How do you make it flick around your wrist when you speed it up? And, I can't not hit myself in the face when doing the reverse :(
SAME
Same my staff is too long
I believe she’s using a 4 foot dowel stick. I’m not exactly sure what type of wood she’s using in this video but she has a separate video on how to make your own bo staff and she went to Home Depot and got a 4 foot dowel stick. I got the exact same length for the dowel stick to practice this forward 8 and the length she’s using seems to be 4 foot long because it looks identical to mine.
If you keep practicing, your wrist will adjust or loosen and you will be able to do it much faster and even move it just with the finger's instead of the wrist.
I came here for the same question! At 2:58 she says do slightly wider figure 8s if your stick is longer
I am a 62 year old man and these videos captivated me. I try and I like it. I took my old Bo out of when I was young and hop !!! Thank you very much. 😎
I've always wanted to learn the staff, especially after starting TKD, but that was years ago. Grateful to find these so I can get started. Funny thing is while walking to the office I sometimes carry a big golf umbrella that I twirl/spin. After seeing this I tried your flow patterns. Its hard but doable! Will work up to the 100 repetitions!
This is a great workout for the shoulders back and rotator cuff. Took me a half hour of practice to get the basic pattern. Stick with it, it’s worth it
Thank you very much! I am a beginner and happy to watch these!
I appreciate your Instagram too!
Thank you very much this video is so informative 💖💖 your illustration is very clear
Great delivery of the method and technique. Thanks
Omg you are such a good teacher and you look especially cool while doing it! For someone who has nothing to do during summer this would probably be fun and also maybe even helpful. 😄
Thank you for making this. I’m a martial artist trying to learn bo staff flow and I really appreciate the way you break the technique down. Subscribed and I’m checking out your other videos. Huge thanks and please keep up the good work.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching. :)
Wow! I am glad I came across your video. Me and my five-year old love playing with our sabers. All the times I though people were spinning the sabers around their wrist, my I was wrong. Too much pain I have endured trying to do so. Tomorrow I will practice and master this first skill , this way when I get to another battle with my son I can show him my skills. No more him giggling every time I drop my saber. Thanks for posting.
Love this video and im gonna start practicing tonight but with two 26" sticks . . two handed . . like escrima sticks . . cant wait!
Hello Michele. Parabéns. Obrigado por nos ensinar. Valeu :)
Very clear instruction. Thank you for posting. 🙏🏻👍
I just started becoming interested. The teaching is perfect for me.
So awesome. Thank u for teaching. Hope to see more.
Best explanation I have seen so far.
that was really easy to learn. subscribed.
Awesome! Thanks!
So glad I've found your channel. will be really helpful for my training
Ever since I was in middle school (I'm 24 now) I've been dancing with everything I could find. Staffs, curtain rods, ect. All of it self learned and taught. It's nice to find a professional that teaches what it is I want to learn - I can only go so far teaching myself. I tried this today - ended up giving myself a goose egg on my forehead. XD But I'll keep on practicing! You've really inspired me to take this habit I started as a kid and become serious with it.
Very cool! I have learned a lot and I slowly get into the flow and feeling of it.
Thank you😎👍
This video really helped me polish up my 8s!
Thank you so much for this. I'm learning the bo staff in martial arts, and this just made it easier for me.
Fantastic, thanks.
Love your teachings. Thank you so much. :)
I just learned the only things I know about spinning. Thank you. I'll keep watching and order a stick.
Excellent! Explanation
Thank you! Today is my first day of trying this!
You are a great teacher
I really like your videos. Thanks
Excellent explanation.
Such a good tutorial 👍 very well explained and so easy to follow thank you 🙏
Thanks for teaching😌🔥
Really good video loved it! No comments for the explanation. It was just fascinating the way you did! God bless you and keep up the excellent work =)
This video is awesome. It have drastically improved my bo staff skills. Been in and out of the martial arts now for 20 years and this video has broken down the single hand figure eight motion so anyone can learn it. Thank you.
Great to hear!
Oh my god......I am spellbound after watching your performance 👌👌👌
I really love this sort of martial arts.
Your videos are the best you can really learn from them
Great explanations, Thanks!
Hey, i am watching your videos since around one year. Always thingking "some day i will start learning this". About a month ago i decided: now its time to do exactly that. Best of all, i have a sports group with around 10 children between 10 and 16 years and couse we arent allowed to do contact sports, i can give each of them a staff for theire own and we can learn staff manipulation. Thanks for that!
Thanks for sharing your skill
Wow !
Awesome !!
Thanks a lot for this tutorial !!!
Your tutorial is really helpful...
I have a few star wars enthusiasts and just some people that genuinely enjoyed the skills I display at work and I owe it to you. I cant really watch the newest ones on quarantine staff work but I have you on lock awaiting skill upload.
Although i feel the slow demonstration was overdramatic, I've been told it has helped my friends. I just love how thoroughly you explain everything.
Awesome video!!
you are skilled and you teach very well.
Thank you so much for all your videos!!!
I've been practicing on these basics so much today and it's been a little frustrating since I'm so new to everything, but when I turn my brain off and muscle memory takes over its SO BAD ASS 😂

Thanks teacher
Thank you, I love you
Coming from a hula hoop background I see so many similarites...palm up, palm down. Infinity is our ninja move! I tend to treat my stick as if it were a hoop but I can see already you have to prepare for the catch differently. Good instructions!
Thankyou so much
I do Taekwondo in this video helped me a lot and I would like to say thanks😃
Super! ty
I noticed many of the moves are similar to the moves of Cossack Sabre dancing. I just subscribed and so far enjoy your teaching style, skills and experience, thank you@
Amazing !
Thank you for a greatly precise and informative instructional video. I've made a few changes to my practices, thank you. (star wars nerd, not kendo or nothing)
Thanks Michelle C. Smith. This video helped me walk through how to switch from the forward figure 8 to the reverse figure 8. Greatly appreciated. Found you through Matt Pasquinilli's channel.
Amazing!
I did too, I've been doing this sort of thing as a passing enthusiast for years; I believe I've found my next skill acquisition/refinement pursuit for 2018 :)
Thank you! Just got my first staff and started with this tutorial.
Awesome!
Thanks for your guidance

Im trying to learn that intro of yours...it freakin rocks! ...❤it! ..yur such a badass Michelle..u rock!
