I Love you full
These time tags are really useful! Danka!
Or we could watch the full awesomeness of your video
Thanks alot .... 👍
Thanks a lot miss Michelle, but what if I can't turn wrist that smoothly because of my injury? I am screwed right?
Step one: Remove light bulb. Preferably not the way I did.
😂😂
😂😂👍
Oh silly
Yeah my parents learned that the hard way when i had to practise inside XD
As a professional musician I SO appreciate how you discuss practise method - starting slow and master it - before speeding up. The number one issue I come across with my beginner students is they want to take off and play too fast without mastery of skill. Thank you for such an excellent tutorial!
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast
Practice
I did too lol you gotta know how to do it right before you do it fast
As a wooden stick I appriciate the parallel support during the incline twirl
Yes sir?
I've finally figured out something that confuses me -- The high-low whip and the Obi-Ani from the movies are not the same move...now working to separate them in my head. (I'm a 50-yr. old dude who has managed to learn enough from your videos that my friends are way more impressed than I ever thought they'd be (^_^) Thank you!)
Seriously appreciate you commenting! I'm a late 30s dude who was thinking that I couldn't keep up with people who are in their 20's and spinning like pros. You've inspired me to give it a go! :D
I'm in your scenario. I'm a 50+-year-old individual. I will never be able to do the summersaults and flips, yet I want to learn the spinning staff techniques. Excited to begin.
@@brentatkinson7241 You WILL be able to do the summersaults and flips - the force is strong with you Atkinson.
🤔just don't try it while breakdancing...
I practiced with a spatula! This was really fun and it really did help me get the movements into my muscle memory a bit, thank you!!
Practice with your non-dominant hand first, your dominant hand will catch up. Been spinning for 20 years. Love your stuff Michelle, I always learn something new.
Just about to start learning. Love this suggestion…will do!
Great, clear instruction. I'm trying to learn staff after years of escrima training. Thanks for introducing basics and not just another video about how fast your technique can get.
Thank you for your clearly effective teaching method. I am 65 and have taken an interest in understanding the Bo staff. It seems physically immersive and yet challenging to master. I've now joined your club and look forward to future videos. Well done Michelle!
You got it! Thanks for joining in!
You explains things so much clearer with this one thank you for the updated version of this!!
Love the 2.0 updates, new graphics, and George appearance! So important to review the basics. Today's practice is just going to be basic flow focused for me. Thanks Michelle!
You’ve just resolved what it was I couldn’t figure out in your vid from your RUclips beginnings. Thanks for bringing in this updated version! 🙏🏻🥷
Love the new approach to basic flow - especially the transition lessons - great stuff!!! Thank you!
Just found you through TikTok, and I am obsessed! I’m a newbie to bo staff at 40, and I am so excited for your videos!!
Thank for the instructive video. The figure of 8 is also a great exercise for rapier stramazzone cuts, which are essentially the halfs of the figure of 8.
I just found your channel a few days ago. I’m a 66y.o. Former martial artist (when I was much younger) that has always wanted to learn the Bo. My style Tae Kwon Do, only taught the staff to upper black belts. And I only got my first degree before giving it up for family life. I have been working through your videos and have learned so much already. Thank you sooooo much for making these lessons. They are absolutely fantastic!
She has no formal training in Ryukyu KoBudo Bojutsu. What she is doing is just Baton twirling, no combat/martial skills
Your videos helped me get through quarantine. Thank you!
😍 Love your tutorials so much, Michelle. You break things down and explain them so well I think you could teach me how to build a starship, lol.
Great instruction! Broken down very simplistic, then slowly accelerated up to more complex movements. Wish I could take a class.
Thank you so much for your work. I’ve learned so much from you. Hope you are doing well. 💕
This is a fantastic tutorial! Thank you.
Really enjoyed this video; the way you explain the BasicFlow with your arms straight really helped me and I found it to be much clearer than the other tutorials I have watched. I’m a bit unsure about the footwork though as other tutorials talk about standing in a neutral stance and using your hips to give momentum but maybe this is more to do with using this in a more combative rather than just spinning for fun :-). Looking forward to watching your next video after I get the skills shown here up to a reasonable speed. Thanks for posting.
Valuable lesson. Thanks Mitchell ❤️
I appreciate you sharing your wonderful and amazing gift.
Amazing, Michelle
Thanks Michelle. What an awesome intro.
THANK YOU! I’ve been watching your old video on slow speed trying to figure out the transitions for 2 days.
Happy to help!
Excellent explanation. I know how to do that, but explaining it as you did on this video, I COULD NOT DO. Excellent work!
Great Vid TY
Michelle must have practised like a ton and a half to be this smooth.
I picked up a Bo 6 years ago at 60 but I am no where near this level of smooth.
It is amazing what can be done with a stick.
Great fun, good exercise, good for meditation as well.
This is amazing.❤
Beautifully shot video. You're the best teacher 🙂😉🙂😉
You explained terrific thank you
I appreciate how you discuss practical measures- teaching the method as I try practice thank you for the tot
Bought myself a training staff by cold steel a couple months ago and knew right away it was one of the best investments I've ever made in my life. I've been flowing with gada and clubs for a couple years, so i took to it quickly. Wish I had invested in these skills much earlier in life, but it's better to arrive fashionably late than never to arrive at all 🖤 very happy to have found your channel. Thank you 🇨🇦
Just ❤ your teaching! 💯👍🙏
so cool how she was for sharing such things and getting people to be open honest supportive.
good leadership example❤
Hi Michelle, find myself with some time on my hands as a beginner. This looks like a perfect place to start when I've made my staff. Good for mild cardio bc I have asthma a little. Thanks again.

you explain very well thank you very much!!!
I really love your teachings. Its really awesome.
yes...this is the tutorial I was looking for...more than this that cat's picture is amazing! 😄
Awesome tutorial!!
Excellent video very easy to understand even for a beginner
Michelle, absolutely wonderful, concise, clear lesson! I know I keep hammering away at you about continuing to do the “slow mo‘s”, they really help. In the past, I have suggested to you, using different angles. But, especially the OVERHEAD SHOTS. I think it worked out great on this video. Bad ass as always! Thanks
Valuable lesson 🌸🌺💕
Thank you for your time Your are the best of the best one Instructor I am really appriciation for all the detail explaination..
love your....
Nicely explained. Thankyou. 😍🙏😍
Love This. Congratulations Michelle 😊
Thank you!! 😊
Thank You!!
So Poetic with your teaching
thank you for this tutorial, it’s very nice because I wanted to learn with you. 🙂
This is extremely good teaching technique.
Excelente video muy bien explicado, muchas gracias maestra, saludos desde Mar del plata.
I come from the hippy dippy hula hooper wannabe background but honestly switching props opens up so much, have busted out the bo staff and literally just been playing and it's so much fun to watch different concepts play out. Really falling in love with the staff, when I'm not whacking myself in the shin lol! Have enjoyed your tutorials for a while, you rock!
Thank you, Michelle. I always loved to spin staff since childhood, but never learned a proper technique. I was just trying to reverse-engineer movements from the movies.
love it!
I was trained by Steven Seagal and have achieved a level of Master of Silent Death, you are indeed a Bad Ass. Great presentation, top shelf! Subscribed.
Clear, concise, gracious and incredibly beautiful teacher! A pleasure to watch you! Poetry in movement.
so goodwork sis
I'm new here and just watched your video. Great lessons on the staff. Very professional.
Love the way you teach !
Thanks so much!
Just awesome!!!🔥🔥🔥
The video came up in the recommendations some time ago...
In the past, I started spinning poi. Started several times..😊
So.. I decided, that this video would be just as interesting and useful for me.
And - it was!!!👍
You explain so clearly!!! So I not only began to try to rotate the staff, but also ...learn English from your lessons!!!!🤣
Thank you so much for who you are and God bless you!🙏🙏🙏
And sorry for my English; I just started studying..🧐
Fantastic my sister keep it up.
Great teaching technique :)
Thanks!
Michelle, I really appreciate your video not only because your explanation is so professional, but the quality of the editing of the multiple views as well. I am starting my training with a pvc pipe I found in my garage. Blessings!
Some "conduit pipe" is stronger than others... Bamboo staff is preferable, though you could spend the money on 1" diameter "Dowling.".. But, you'll find electrical tape can get gooey_compared to Gorilla Tape_for the center grip !
@@f_USAF-Lt.G great advise! Thank you.
I know that I'm late to the party by just seeing this channel, but I'm glad that I did. Her control is amazing.
Hey I love this
Dear Michelle Christa Smith; I thank you and appreciate this tutorial.
I am a beginner. I am ambidextrous, only from so much in this world being designed for right handed humans. I understand here that I will do the same on the right as the left :-) ❤️ handed
Fantastic 😊
Congrats!!! You explained to me very very well! All other sites don´t explain like you!!! Thank you😘👋🙏
Glad it was helpful!
I like the tutorial, very professional, from East Timor🇹🇱🇹🇱.
Great video..I need to pick my staff back up and go over this again. Thank you for the refresh. Also, what pants are those? They are amazing!!
Just bought my first dowel this afternoon and have already said RIP Ceiling.
Amazing 😮😮😮😮😮
thank you to teaching me
brilliant 🙂
Got so distracted by that cute grumpy cat painting I had to stop the video! 😂
Finding what works for yourself and expand from that understanding.
Hi Michelle, i would love/need to learn this, till the pro level, for my movie project! So you are the teacher i need! At this skills i lack, on others don't! Either you are perfect, for one character, along with your trousers! Great tutorial, into small details! 💥💥💥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥✌✌✌🙏🙏🙏
Really amazing move madam. ithil all the women in the world has to think about these tech to protect themselves tooo 👏👏👏
Brilliant
Very good 👍👍👍
Die Katze ist der Knaller , sie ist die Chefin :D .
Beast. Nuff said.
after 4 days of practice, i am able to transition between fwd to bwd motion. thank you for easy tutorial
My first time here. Just subscribed..... because the cutie kitty cat stole the show ❤❤❤❤❤
New here thanks for this❤
Thank you, Michelle. I am a writer, as we have already talked about. lol. But I like to work out. I am doing your flow exercises pretty well now, and I bought a good lightsaber for use in saber training. Better to use my home made ones for learning though. I have flung BOTH out of my hands and broke a ceiling fan blade and knocked over a lamp! 😅. So, I go to deck and put you on my projector on the wall. Then I work it out! I’ve advanced faster with you than a local instructor I tried a year or so back. So, again, thanks! Next I’m going to get the 2 saber workout going. Take care! Dark.
Tough screen material can double as a catch-net. And, really does well against mosquito attacks from below...
Very Good
Subscribed as soon as you said "professional badass"
Uao!!! PERFECT Miss you have the Force! Use very Force!
Wonderful tutorial as always! :) Thanks for all that you do!
Also, I kind of need to know (though I doubt they'll have one in my size) what top is that? I love it!
It is very pretty and great display of skill as well.
My own badass meter did not move at all-not even with the skull mask.
I just found your RUclips channel and I like this and this is so good and awesome and the best thing ever and you have one awesome RUclips channel and I cannot wait for more all new videos from you thank you very much and you are the best and well you are so amazing and you are the best and you have one awesome RUclips channel

Damn, this is good
professionell badass... 😂😂 i like this kind of title 👍
😮... mam u just Amazing🎉
La mejor 👆💪😎👌
Hey Michelle, i picked up flowstaff a couple of years ago and was curious where the top of your staff reaches from the floor, mine comes up to about my chin and while it's comfortable, i feel it's just a bit too long to hit some of the speed you are displaying. Thanks for the information, keep up the badassery 👏
Thank you for doing this. Iv been trying to learn basic flow this whole summer but doesnt really get it to be ok. And in this video Im seeing Iv been doing it wrong.
Where can I buy the staff?
