Also wrestler influences Biff and Gunloc are supposedly inspired by the Von Elric brothers, Lex Luger (Gunloc) and Nikolai Volkoff (Biff) Haggar's "Macho" is obviously a play on Macho Man Randy Savage and he even lifts up Jessica on his shoulder like Randy used to do with Miss Elizabeth. Alexander the Grater as you pointed out is based on Big Van Vader but he also has a little bit of Road Warrior Hawk as well. El Stringray is based on Lizmark but the Stinger is obviously a play on Steve "Sting" Borden's name. Titanic Tim obviously his name is a play on the Titanic and Tiny Tim names. He's also inspired by Giant Baba. Great Oni is based on Great Muta and the Great Kabuki. King Rasta Mon is modeled after Bruiser Brody and his Japanese name is based the Missing Link. Jumbo Flapjack or Kimala the Bouncer is based on both John "Earthquake" Tenta and Kamala due to the name and face paint. Scorpion or Astro is modeled after Tinieblas and he has some moves from Tiger Mask. Victor Ortega is modeled after Billy Graham and Hulk Hogan Rip Saber is modeled after Sgt Slaughter
I wasn't into the fighting game sequel. On Slam Masters though, El Stingray was my guy. After unlocking Scorpion, him and Stingray became my go to Tag-Team.

These are always the best kind of games. I just like games that are games and don't try to seem to real
What a intro🔥🔥🔥. Intro game growing day by day. WB editors on fire 🔥🔥❤️
Absolutely LOVED this game when it came out. Wish I still had it, my Super Nintendo and all the other games I had. 😢
Definitely one of my favorites on the SNES still remember playing it very young it was a blast!!
Used to play this when was kid game was diff from any other wrestling game
Loved this game and was glad to beat it on both the arcade and SNES wit Alexander the Grater. And in tag team mode with Grater and Scorpion.
I played this a ton as a kid on the home consoles. Maybe one day we will get an unexpected sequel or collection of the old ones.
I had Muscle Bomber on the Super Famicom and what struck me was the music. It was as memorable as the themes from Street Fighter II.
damn i remember, SNK also made an arcade wrestling game, it did have some similarities to this too. It was called 3 count bout or something
This is the game the got me into wrestling in the first place. I rented the SNES version because I saw Mike Haggar was in it cause I was big into Final Fight and got hooked on the wrestling aspect.
Also wrestler influences
Biff and Gunloc are supposedly inspired by the Von Elric brothers, Lex Luger (Gunloc) and Nikolai Volkoff (Biff)
Haggar's "Macho" is obviously a play on Macho Man Randy Savage and he even lifts up Jessica on his shoulder like Randy used to do with Miss Elizabeth.
Victor Ortega is modeled after Billy Graham and Hulk Hogan
Rip Saber is modeled after Sgt Slaughter
This game was one of my favorites from the pawn shop
I never played the arcade version, but I used to rent the super nintendo version all the time.
One of Capcom's many underrated games of the 90's. El Stingray is one of my favorites, specially in the sequel.
I wasn't into the fighting game sequel. On Slam Masters though, El Stingray was my guy.
After unlocking Scorpion, him and Stingray became my go to Tag-Team.
The Scorpion seems to be modeled off Mexican luchador Tinieblas
Great game. I used to play it as a kid. Lots of nostalgia. I actually just recently bought it a couple of weeks ago for the super nintendo. It's not that expensive. Around $30, but it might go up in value.
I played that game all the time and I bought a super nes with 1500 games down loaded it had that game it brought back memories
Man I used to play this for hours on my FM Towns Marty! What a great name for a console
WrestleFest was the best wrestling game of that era, but it never got a console release. Slam Masters is better than any WWF or WCW game on the 8 and 16 bit consoles, I'd say it's the best console wrestling game of the time, unless you're a total fanatic willing to put in the time to learn Fire Pro.
Wrestlefest was awesome. A bit overrated though.
I agree with you though, aside from NES' "Tecmo World Wrestling" and "Pro Wrestling" (Fire Pro Series Grandfather), Slam Masters was the best Pro-Wrestling game in that time period.
Specifically, it uses the CPS Dash hardware. It's an in-between board as it's mostly CPS1, but with QSound (what the CPS2 has).
i rented the SNES Slammasters game. it was fun.
Played this on SNES. Thought it was gonna be like the other wrestling games but damn it blew my little mind away. Rented it at least 3 more times and it was gone.
Absolutely loved this as a child.
I'm pretty sure that King rasta mon is based on Pampero Firpo, who sometimes went by the name "The missing link". The look fit as well.
I thought he was based on Bruiser Brody.
That's funny the Missing Link I remember from wccw wrestling was actually Dewey something or other.
@@RemoWilliams1227 Dewey Robertson.
@@Anomaly188 ty friendo
@@RemoWilliams1227 yes as stated above Dewey Robertson also used that name. Firpo used it when he worked in Hawaii.
A rare Wednesday upload from our Good pal Wrestling Bios
A rental at Kelvin's TV! Good times!
Thank you so much Wrestling Bios! You are Legendary!
I love this game would definitely put it in my all time favorite wrestling games
I absolutely loved the hell out of that game as a kid!
