I think one of my favorite tiny detail things in this game was how the gave Lex that metal elbow since he was doing that as one of his finishers around that time. Playing up the whole metal plate in his arm from the motorcycle accident.
I had this game for PS1! It was amazing! My friends had it for SNES and when I went over to play it, I was like WHAT THE?? Doesn't even feel like the same game!
Agreed. I always thought Vader and British Bulldog and Tatanka would have been good fits. Maybe Bastion Booger as a joke. Younger me wished there was a WCW version as well.
@@House.Of.Pain. thanks man , 30th anniversary of Dirt , R.I.P Layne & Mike , they were a sick AIC , last great era of rock music ,maybe even killed it lol , can never be topped.
I loved this game because finally learning how to chain combos together was such a satisfying feeling. It felt like when you figured out how to do a Brutality or an Ultra combo in Killer Instinct. Also, for the life of me,I cannot understand why they wouldn’t release an updated version of this game/In Your House today. The characters in WWE now are PERFECT for a game like this. Just imagine them borrowing from ‘In Your House’ and each wrestler having their own themed arena. They could borrow Mortal Kombat’s Tower mode and have you face Roman at the very end and his theme would literally be the Island of Relevancy.
@ 14:45 , i thought the fan in the white shirt looked like the British Bulldog when he was sitting ringside for Bret Hart (and I believe owen) in the steel cage. He had glasses on and was calling for a sharpshooter, for whatever reason. Then i squinted and took a closer look, it actually looks like Ron Jeremy.
Aaahh, yes, my lil bro & I were some of the ones who owned the SNES version, back in the mid '90s, & we loved it, but it sucks to know that there were much better versions available, out there, at the time. Only thing we hated, back then, was that Yokozuna & Bam Bam weren't on our version. We played WrestleMania: The Arcade Game, all the way until WCW vs NWO World Tour came out, & we quickly picked up that one!
Happened to go to Galloping Ghost in Chicago back in March when Scott Hall passed. WrestleMania was there and every single person, myself included, was playing as Razor. Fell in love with this game that day and while I'm still not very good with it, I adore this game and would've loved a proper follow-up!
I had read a strategy guide for what I think was the arcade game. It had pictures and the inputs needed for every character's fatality. I'm guessing the guide was in Electronic Gaming Monthly, but I could be wrong. I had tried these inputs multiple times trying to get a fatality on either the Genesis or 32x version. But none worked. Got so fed up that I called the Acclaim Gamer Tips Hotline about this issue. The girl on the phone, after leaving me on hold for awhile, came back and told me that the home version does not contain any fatalities, only the arcade version did.
Shawn with the running Canadian Destroyer....how fitting. Loved the games where you had to actually input moves, instead of all the button+direction simplicity.
This was such a big deal for me. Back in the day when it appeared in the arcades, I practically lost my mind. I bought every gaming mag I could find that featured it to try and get better... funny how times have changed. I was a Genesis kid so I got it for that. One of the few places the Genesis cleanly beat the SNES.
I played this in arcades for like 2 years and STILL asked for the SNES version as my Xmas present. I don't know that I've ever played the Genesis version.
I always wondered exactly why Diesel wasn't in this particular game also but it's important to remember that this game started production around mid-late 1993 at which point Diesel was still Shawn's bodyguard and had not yet had a proper one-on-one bell to bell match in the Federation. The game only featured top stars of that era at the time; Diesel was still on the come up.
This was hands-down the best wrestling game of that console generation. Not until WCW World Tour would it be de-throned. I remember hearing Kevin Nash talk about how pissed off he was when he didn't make "the Midway game" because that was the first wrestling game that really delivered massive royalty checks to all of the wrestlers featured in it due to its success.
I grew up with the SNES version. Yes, I did notice the butchering of the port, but I took it with a grain of salt. It was the only version (besides the Arcade) I played, so I had fun with it.
One of the most rewarding, addictive, and fast paced games ever if you master it. Also very nostalgic in numerous ways. A great arcade game. As a huge wwf fan in the mid 90's I loved this game. I still remember when I first saw it at the arcade and I was blown away.
ALWAYS appreciate a good play guide like you did here for an Arcade Game, WB. Emulation makes them all so easily playable nowadays, but its not like they have tutorial modes or anything after all. Having to bring up an FAQ on your computer or phone or whatever isn't exactly ideal either. Thanks for going above and beyond here!
It was definitely my favorite game growing up with a Genesis. I even bought the PS1 version later on, somehow thinking it will have better graphics lol
Razor Ramon was my favorite character.. Was hoping you'd show him doing the Razor's Edge at least once, but all he did was the piledriver lol.. I personally had fun with "In Your House" too, mainly cause of Owen Hart, Vader, Ahmed Johnson & all their finishing moves..
Bought this for PS1 in about 1999. Didn't care that it was out of date by then, I was just wanting to buy anything wrestling related. Pretty fun for what it was.
I wish WWE would either remake this game or make an updated version with current superstars! You could definitely load so many characters since it wouldn't take too much data!
I remember beating the Genesis version with each wrestler and doing all of their combos back in the day. I still have the cart and Genesis for that matter
This was one of my favorite games on the Mega Drive. Absolutely loved it! Still one of my favorite wrestling games to this day. No other wrestling game before or since was even close to how wacky and fun(ny) this game was! Really wish the concept gets revisited some day :).
My first exposure to wrestling was this video game on a class mates Sega Genesis. What a terrific introduction to these wrestling characters this was. Lex and HBK’s move animations haunted my brain for years.
I owned the SNES and other than the limited roster I was very much pleased with it. I was a teenager and was just happy to have it at home. Great vid!!
Maybe it was because I just made due with what I had, but I actually had a lot of fun with the SNES version back in the day. Granted, I didn't play any other home port, and only played the actual arcade version a couple of times.
Another awesome upload from the wrestling channel with the most jam on the planet! I’ve only briefly played this one, on the Mega Drive, back in the day. What I remember about the game, more than playing it though. Was the short video I had back in the day, at the end of my In Your House 4 VHS. Where Bret Hart speaks about how he helped make the game and the wrestlers, such as The Undertaker talking about hints and tips for the game, while they were in full character.
Wow that arcade cabinet with WM the arcade game is a beaut. Now that's some serious dedication to this awesome game. I love this game too. If you get a chance to put Pit Fighter and Guardians Of The Hood on a cabinet that would be cool too.
First time playing this game was at an arcade place in Sept 95 before a WWF house show. At the show, there was a draw to win the actual arcade game! Got the SNES version for Xmas 95 along with the VHS secrets and codes. 30 minute video, I watched it so many times.
I hated it, but it was 99/00 when I played it at a friends house. They had every PS1 wrestling game out at the time, so it was play this or play SmackDown, ECW or WCW Mayhem.
Back in the day, I was 7 years old and I loved wrestling. I have a soft spot for the Snes version despite the fact that it isnt very good. I do remember being disappointed that Yokozuna and Bam-Bam weren't in the game. My guys I would rotate between were Bret Hart (who I would consider my main), Shawn Michaels, and The Undertaker with Razor as an honorable mention. For awhile, I did own a Sega Saturn a friend of mine either gave to me or sold it really cheap to me (like $20 or something like that). And of the nine games WrestleMania the arcade game was one of them and I did enjoy the Saturn version when I would bust it out. Recently I ended up selling my Saturn with the games, but I had one of the best versions and the worst lol
I remember being so happy to play this game especially on the PlayStation 1 due to the fact that WrestleMania the Arcade Game was my first exposure to wrestling games and I loved the graphics. Not a fan of the sounds but it’s still a fun game to play every now and then.
My buddy had this for his Genesis, and we played the hell out of it. Also used to jam out the arcade version at the local skating rink on Friday nights, especially before I got my first girlfriend.. lol wow, thanks for the awesome dose of nostalgia, my friend!
The arcade version was definitely the best! I played it recently on a MAME emulator on my 65” TV it looked amazing! One game I do remember fondly along side this one was WWF In Your House on ps1. I always believed if that game would’ve been released on the arcade cabinet like WWF Wrestlemania it would’ve been amazing aswell. I remember all the “rumors” that went around about this game, Adam Bomb secret character, blood code ect…One being 100% true was that the undertaker was the only one that had a “fatality” which is only able to be done on the arcade version of the game. WWF In Your House also copied that with “super pins” and all the wrestlers had their own unique “super pin” but the game itself falls miles short compared to Wrestlemania. It would’ve been great to see Vader,Warrior, Owen, Bulldog, Ahmed,Goldust and Triple H on WRESTLEMANIA along with its original roster of WWF superstars
Played the hell out of the SNES version in the 90's. Undertaker had some insane combo that were easy to trigger by mashing random buttons. Did anyone ever figure out what the longest possible combo was?
I really hope Arcade 1 up make a cab of wrestlemania that the only arcade game the WWE can rereleased because they have the right of all 8 wrestler !!!
I think they had a version that came out the same time the n64 games did, it was wwf royal rumble and I think it used the warzone engine. There’s still a machine at either the foxwoods or mohegan sun casino arcade.
Austin turning into a large raging rattlesnake, the Rock electrocutes his opponents with electricity, Mankind calls in the rats, HHH’s sledgehammer would be used as a real attack move and etc.
You also get McMahon and Lawler back at the commentary desk too…”if thats your thing.” I have no idea why but i busted out laughing at that when you said it.
I wont ever forget this game. I was 11 with an SNES and had a choice between this for full price or RAW on sale for $29.99. I chose this after looking at the back and thinking the graphics looked so much better and since it was new, thinking it HAD to be better. Unfortunately, I HATED this game on SNES. I played it a few times and quietly put it away, never to talk about it again. Playing RAW at my buddies house and having a blast was just salt on the wound. Honestly one of my earliest memories of disappointment in life.
This game was so fun to play. I only felt if there were more move sets and more superstars to play with would’ve made this iconic. Gameplay was very Mortal Kombat esque
my first time seeing this game was the sega Genesis version at our local blockbuster, I rented it one weekend and instantly fell in love with it. just thought it was fun and out of this world how you could play as the undertaker and shoot ghosts at your opponents. or jumping 20 ft in the air to give them a chokeslam. i have a portable sega genesis that i use to play the game again every now and then, for a little nostalgia .
I'm familiar with the Megadrive/Genesis version but having literally just downloaded the Arcade original while watching this , wow , it's so much better. Does anybody remember Bret playing this game with Blade in Wrestling with Shadows on the PS1 & amusingly getting his ass kicked.
This was the first wrestling game I ever played. What a fun time! Always lost it when the meat chunks came out of Yokozuna's rear end. And I popped for the flaming headbutt
I've had only the snes version and i am blown away finding out now...like 25 years after i got the game, that there were 2 more playable characters...i also had the raw version and like it more because there were more playable wrestlers but this game was way more fun. Didnt know that yoku and bam bam were in it until today :D
Dude Wrestling Bios, Do you realize you answer every question I have lol! I was so curious between the 32X, PS1 etc.... Your awesome! I was thinking of myself gosh I have so many questions but it's great I didn't even have to ask any of them and you just answered all of them lol
I was blown away by how little effort was put in to In Your House. I had only played Wrestlemania (both in arcade and on PS1) and I never knew of IYH until I started collecting PS1 games again around 2010. I was really pumped for it. But I was surprised by the just dingy look of the graphics, although I did love the stages, and "Tri" was a selectable character and it also featured plenty of Destrucity, so theres that.
Played this first on the Genesis, and the amazing thing was, WWF Royal Rumble & Raw were great games, this was the first game where the wrestlers finally played completely unique from each other in every regard, even down to the pin animations. And the over the topness was so much fun. Do wish people like Diesel, Owen Hart and such could've made it in. I also would enjoy the PS1 version later on and of course mainly play the MAME version now.
Mortal Kombat wrestling was pretty fun, I remember killing many hours playing it but that thumbnail of Bret trying to Russian leg sweep an arcade machine is hilarious.
I think one of my favorite tiny detail things in this game was how the gave Lex that metal elbow since he was doing that as one of his finishers around that time. Playing up the whole metal plate in his arm from the motorcycle accident.

Forearm..but yes it was cool.

as ludicrous as seeing yokozuna's ass fly at you from across the ring?

True. I guess it's a testament to how far Nash went in such a short time.

Dude Wrestling Bios, Do you realize you answer every question I have lol! I was so curious between the 32X, PS1 etc.... Your awesome! I was thinking of myself gosh I have so many questions but it's great I didn't even have to ask any of them and you just answered all of them lol
I have the full arcade version on my phone too. Was playing it again today. Still my fave wrestling game ever! ❤
I remember playing this at the corner store when I was a kid
Thank you sir great video
Killer - can’t wait to see pics of your arcade 1up machine. I’m probably gonna do the same thing
Played a ton of this game on PS1. It's a simplified fighting game more than a wrestling game. The combos and fast paced action is a ton of fun.
*Fun Fact* Shawn Michael's was going to be put in NBA JAM as a secret character after this game was released.
Why ? Shawn was not a basketball player
I play this sometimes on my phone with emulator
I had this game and in your house on the Saturn. So many hours of fun!
Mortal Kombat wrestling was pretty fun, I remember killing many hours playing it but that thumbnail of Bret trying to Russian leg sweep an arcade machine is hilarious.
Great video as always!
This was legit one of the greatest wrestling games of all time! Man, I loved this game growing up lol. My characters were Razor Ramon and Lex Luger.
I loved playing this game would play it for hours the graphics and detail of the wrestlers are awesome even by today's standard if not better
Man dude that would be awesome if you reskin that arcade stand! And yeah your video as usual brings back some wonderful memories!!
This video about a wrestling video game is more entertaining than the last 15 years of WWE anything . How sad is that, thank you Wrestling Bios.
i had this game back when i was kid.. loved it
going to the arcade on bikes, waiting in the line-up to face the kid who beats everyone with yokozuna, thoses were the days !
