Till date you didn't understand the difference between a Novel and History.
In simple words, you haven't researched about Thamizh Kings out of curiosity and further learned thru approaching Thamizh & History scholars.
Couch potatoes like you are the platform for people like Mr.Krishnavel to execute their intention i.e., to abstaining people from kindling their curiosity to learn, practice & develop.
You nailed it Sir. நடக்காததை சேர்ப்பது புனைவு. நடந்ததை மறைப்பது: புரட்டு. The book managed to escape criticism by historians those days. Kalki cleverly planted the distortion towards the end of novel when Adhitha karikalan was killed. Already many issues were published with the தொடர்கதை and it was too late to ban, even IF someone had wanted to ban. Also readers those days were less critical and more hungry for the suspenseful story, they accepted anything that was dumped on them ignorant of the consequences. Had the novel been banned, this movie would not have been made. It maybe too late to ban the movie now. The damage is already done, because Mani Ratnam has spread the distorted history amongst Tamil youth and people of other languages with his pan India and international releases. This is a literary crime.

Ponniyin Selvan is a novel with cholas as backround. The author has every right to use his imagination to spin a story around the events of that period. There is no point to criticise the novel. You like to read,do it,if not do not. The voice is yours. Endless discussion on this is meaningless. Only people who have no imagination,no skill to write will do.

Yes. Krishnavel is an authentic historic researcher of Tamil history with logical reasoning, which we may not agree in few incidences, but agree on many points. He has his own viewership.
We may see the tremendous flow in describing it for an hour video.
I watched few of his videos and knew the points he explained in bits. I saw a smooth flow in this format than his solo videos. He also looks smart. I suggest more videos in this format from him.
Most of them who read Ponniyin Selvan knew that it is not a historic Novel. Maint characters are imaginary in Kalki's Novels. Not only Nandini in Ponniyin Selvan, Sivakami in Sivakamiyin Sabatham are imaginary characters.
PS-2 is a Maniratnam's romantic film of Aditya Karikalan (Historic character) and Nandhini (imaginary Character).

The discussion that Kalki n Maniratnam had distorted history are baseless Firstly it is right in the open in inscriptions.
