Your videos and video quality including the detail where the tensioner will be difficult to remove within the engine compartment makes this video outstanding quality mate
Hey thank you all the way from Jamaica for this video, it was a great help.. i have a 2016, s650 and the tensioner wheel was jammed cooking the belt. Local dealer had the parts and i followed your instructions on the repairs.. bigup! And nuff respect
Thank you for this detailed video. You covered everything needed for me to change out the belt, bearing, and tensioner arm. My T590 is quiet, and performing great after these repairs. Please keep this level of content coming when you are able!
Thank you so much for this great video. It was so easy to install once I watched the video. I replaced the idler pulley and got the whole thing back together in a little over one hour. I’m located in Japan. Although parts are available there’s not to many service providers who have experience working on these machines. You saved me a bunch of money and downtime!!
Great video! It’s awesome to be able to see how that belt system is put together. I would hate to be paying for the repair on that machine. I would also like to see what’s inside the main pump if you ever have one apart.
Man thanks so much.Everything you said was spot on and just straight to the point and simple...for the most part 😅.We work at a car and eighteen wheeler shop but don't do stuff like this normally.Took us like two hours but er literally learned from this video so I feel it was pretty good. Also the belt got stuck behind the harmonic balancer looking pulley so we had to bump her to get it free! Thanks so much, our new bosses appreciated it so much and we got to look good 😂
Thank You so much for all your stellar videos! You have saved me so much time, $ & aggravation. I really appreciate what you do for all of us that watch these. Your videos are always well explained and it is immensely helpful.
Fighting with one right now something is going on with the tension spring not exactly on right. Inwhich I did not torque either......I think your video will be a blessing to get me back up and going...fingers crossed.
Thanks I have a T190. Just gave me a Hyd pressure shutdown warning and shut down. Removing the cover, I see the belt is incredibly loose. I'll use your info to see if I can tension it. Thanks!
Great video bud we have a 2018 t650 that chirps when operating used to do ot under heavy stress but has started doing it with light loads video helped alot now just hope it works lol 😆
@11:02, Very important step to make sure that bracket rotates completely where it's touching that 'pendulum' part, and pull it down a hair past that. If working with mechanism inside the Loader, it might be good to wear gloves, otherwise you might slice your pinky open on the battery box tray on the bottom if these wrenches slip during that rat trap maneuver. Note: Most torque wrenches are not "Bi-Directional" where you can get a torque read in both directions. When you are trying to put the 40 lbs of pressure, your garden variety Torque wrench will not give you the 'click' you are waiting for. You will need a Harbor Freight Pittsburg torque wrench that is "reversable" or something better if you want to make sure it's torqued correctly. I found the best thing to do is just like shown here, make sure that bracket rotates where it can't rotate any more and the belt is tight. Otherwise the belt will start slipping, it will make a loud clicking/rattling noise when you strain the hydraulics like when turning and you will have to re-tighten. If you get the belt on right, your machine should feel 'peppy', like it has got some power back.
Great video. I have a question. My S550 is very similar to this setup. However, my tensioner appears to be frozen/stuck to the hollow shaft. I loosen the mounting/pivot bolt and the tensioner will barely rotate even with a breaker bar. Is this common? I am considering heating up the hollow shaft, but am concerned. Any ideas?
Hi yes I did remove all the fuses the sockets did feel tight. I will unplug the aux controller tomorrow.Sorry what do you mean see if gateway comes back online. The machines controllers seem to be working I don’t have an external tool on it. The codes just pop up. This happens erratically but once it does it continues for a while.
On my 763 we find that we cannot keep tension on the belt even with a new tensioner. There were two belt lengths for 763's one is too short and the other is too long. We drilled and tapped a new hole to make it work. However, after just a few minutes we lose tension. You've seen many more of these than we have do you think we would have a chance of mounting the new style tensioner to the old style of housing? It looks like a single threaded hole and a roll pin. The adjustment and tensioning look much more forgiving. I think we could buy one from salvage.
I really like your teaching videos. One suggestion, when filming and if you can, make sure the bright light it to the camera man’s back and not in front of him. Thanks for taking the time to post all of your videos, they help me a lot. GOD bless!
Thanks for the comment, I do struggle with the sun, I'm using a tripod and stands. I try to use filters but it's to dark sometimes when trying to show an up close shot. Maybe I just need another camera, still trying to figure it out.
I got a 2015 t770 that will need a input seal on hydraulic pump sometime. Wondering what the best way to go about that? Even a video on pulling the engine and pump assembly would be nice!
Click, click goes the sound of a well calibrated torque arm!!! I laugh just about every time you do that, it is amusing for sure. Thanks for showing how to do that!! Not too difficult, but I now know WHY you did this video in a pulled motor. Way easier to show this process!! Again thanks!!
How do you change the mounting pivot tube the tensioner slides on that is mounted to the side of the engine? Mine is just like this but I can't figure out how to remove it?
Im a beginner in this field of work I have about 2 years on Bobcat and Genie scissor and telehandler maintenance and repair. You have helped me tremendously. Thank you very much. I am beginning to understand the Bobcats. I had an issue with a 2017 T650 it has erratic trouble codes( M4404 "aux controller no communication)and (H7404 gateway controller no communication main controller no communication. I have check all the fuses all good, and have unpluged and check the wires and plugs from the controllers that route behind the drivers seat. I lifted the cab and checked the wires and plugs Any thoughts.
Have you ever had any of the bolts loosen during normal operation and cause a squeaking? sometimes under heavy/ med operation i'll lose all hydraulic function and but the motor revs will stay the same, then when i back off and let it idle down they'll come back, but it'll do this infrequently. think its a slipping belt? I'm going to dismantle it this week and try to figure it out using these videos, but I was just wondering if theres anything in particular I should be looking for while I'm in there other than a bad pulley bearing or bad belt? 2015 t750 kubota engine btw. Thanks!
Nvm. I used your video and found the uhmw bushing was destroyed and allowing a lot of play under heavy load. Ordered new parts. Thanks for the video! My bushing and spring/arm are one piece though. And the whole thing has two bolts holding it into the motor. Different than the two I saw you replace.
Great video, as always, thank you. I kinda cringed when you held the tensioner up by finger tightening that bolt, and removed the belt. I was thinking, this thing is gonna snap down right on his fingers! LOL Glad it didn't. I believe and trust your skills.......But from my general experience, that just did not LOOK right. I guessing it must have a wedge factor in it versus a smooth travel that would require more torque on the bolt.
Haha, no you're exactly right I'm always scared to put my fingers near that tensioner. It does wedge itself in there pretty tightly but again that would definitely leave a mark if it came loose.
If a drive belt wants to run off the side of the drive pulley would that mean it’s not tensioned enough? Or does it mean the the tensioner wheel is no good?
@@tetradgroup thanks for the quick reply. Yea the thread part of the bolt broke off in the block. Brady, What is your opinion on the belt drive Bobcat used for a long time (what like 90s-2020?, until the R series) vs direct drive they used to use (my 843 for example), and pretty much any other manufacturer? When the R-series marketing came out I remember a video where Bobcat acted like they re-invented the wheel by using direct drive instead of a belt. Which made me laugh since no one else (that I can think of) used(s) a belt and Bobcat itself used to have direct drive. Just curious what your thoughts are. Keep the awesome videos coming!
When the universal joint failed on a friend's 843 it sheared off the shaft. Not a fun repair either. The belt allowed a transverse engine mount to simplify maintenance. The original M series like my 610 used a variable belt drive.

Weld nut to end and use all thread to push shaft out. If engine is out of machine then just use slide hammer.
