Hey I appreciate you taking the time to drop me a comment, honestly without comments I never know if the video is actually helping anyone or not so i appreciate it.
I worked at Bobcat in Gwinner, ND for 22 yrs as a machinist. There is a 1 in 3 chance(3 shifts) that I machined the gearbox that hydro motor was attached to
Hey James hope you’re having a great weekend hey I appreciate you stopping by and checking out the video and taking the time to follow up i appreciate that! Hey I try but I do slip up from time to time but i appreciate you keeping my accountability in check! Have a great weekend!
Gotta give props on this one . I questioned if my drive motors were working the way they should and looked at the cost of 1 and found it to be over 2K if i did not buy from Bobcat. After watching this video, i decided to tear into it after receiving my new seals from Loader Supply today. While my internals are slightly different on a Bobcat 763, the similarities were enough to adapt and rebuild without any significant problems. I set out to do the suspected worst of the 2, but got thru it easy enough that I decided to do them both in one afternoon. Nice job Sidewayz
Appreciate you checking out the video! Hopefully it helped! Yeah the drive motors are insanely expensive! I simply just don’t have that extra cash laying around. So hopefully it solved your issues! Something else that helped mine was doing the steering bushings. ruclips.net/video/W0TkPPZlIHs/видео.html If you need anything let me know! Have a great rest of your week! -DrSidewayZ
@@DrSidewayZ I used just a plain old white candle on exhaust bolts I knew from history will always break so I figured what the hey Pops I'll try it. Sure enough I heated them up and the wax sucked right in there like solder does, and out came the bolts smooth. I tipped him a twelve pack in thanks because I was all braced for at least two breaking and subsequent drill outs. And yes, I know how to tease bolts out with lubricant.
I have been a tech for 40 years but have no Bobcat experience. I searched for this because I have a drive motor(s)? pumping hydraulic fluid into the chain case. Thanks for the video
She’s definitely leaking on you if you have a 743/743b. I ended up messing with these because I found one cheap enough on Facebook marketplace. I’ve been a German car tech for about 11years now. These bobcats are super easy to work on if you can figure out what you’re actually looking at as that seems to be half the battle. I’d definitely recommend doing both drive motor rebuilds at the same time, if you have any issues feel free to leave me a comment.
Definitely helps guys like me that can build any thing but won’t take it apart without knowing exactly what you need and looking for makes the progress a lot smoother for us and you know like we all know how getting parts had been lately so keep at bro we need more coming I can’t afford a new one when I can reman one cheaper
Absolutely! I’m the same way I feel everyone should be able to do things on their own, it only makes you that more prepared as a man should hard times come! I think society as a whole says the contrary this day and age. I think having a guide or at the very least makes you that more prepared for the undertaking! If you end up needing anything or need some insight just hmu and I’ll try my best to point you in the right direction! 🤙🏻
The dielectric grease to hold things in place for assembly is a great idea. There's also transmission Assemblee Goo specifically for that. Thanks for the vid.
Yes Sir I appreciate you making and sharing these videos. It hard enough to make it through a job . Now filming it. Then editing all the rig a ramore that goes with it . Yes Sir appreciate it a lot. . Yes Sir I like that if there not going to engage with you what's the point. The time and money you got in these videos to help someone a person can and should be respectful . But we know how that is to. . So thanks again and stay safe from ur ole hillbilly buddy
@@P.Trim69 i definitely appreciate the feedback! Definitely means alot, seldom do I get any feedback on my videos so to know it helped someone I’ll keep cranking them out, and you’re right about that it’s def a second job setting everything up filming and then editing. Glad someone understands that! Well man have a good rest of your week and hopefully we win tomorrow! Hahah have a good one man
Thanks, especially some encouragement. Doing a 643, some pretty big differences in removal. Having some trouble removing the keyed gear shaft from the pump. On the 643 the whole shaft and gears comes out. The inside simular. Again thanks
Love your video! Found it looking around trying to figure out what's happening with my 743B. I feel feedback in the sticks at times.. almost like I'm stalling the engine with the clutch in high gear... But feeling it in the sticks. Also, my hydraulic light is flickering.. trying to figure out what's happening. I just did the lift arm seals. I put a jack under the rear and lifted the arms. Put a tall jack stand under the arms and took the front pins out of the lift cylinders. I pushed in on one and drove the other out as far as it would go. Then tilted it up and took the rod and piston out. Bungee corded the cylinder up to retain fluid, replaced piston seals and cap seals, put it back together and did the other side. Worked like a charm and took a little over an hour. Both lift arm cylinders are no longer leaking and I never had to break a line loose. Only lost a little under a quart of fluid. Wish I would have made a video on it. Thanks for making a great video!!! New sub!
That would have made a great video! It almost sounds like your pump to be honest, first I would check the brass filter that leads out of the pump and see if it has a blockage but honestly rebuilding the drive motors may be a good start as just how easy it is. I definitely appreciate you swinging by and dropping a comment! Have a great rest of your week!
@@DrSidewayZ I ordered drive motor seals from Bobcat. $91 and some change for each set. I also ordered steering bushings and cam inserts. I found that there was a wire coming across the top of the pump that was disconnected. Looking at the wiring schematic, it goes to a temp sensor. It was grounding out on the frame intermittently causing the light. I can't seem to find the temp sensor but figured I would clean it all out and when I work on the steering linkage, I will find it. The drive motor rebuild is a cheap and easy maintenance item that is probably over due. It has over 6000 hrs on it. If it needs a pump, then I may do that later too. I resealed the spool valves about 2200hrs ago. It's been a great machine and I want to keep it happy and healthy as long as possible. I also noticed that around the injectors there's a bit of dampness. Any ideas? I'm happy I found your channel! It's been a great help! Recently I bought an Agrotk 680 hydraulic breaker from Toolots. I was a little afraid since it seemed so cheap. It turns out it was a great purchase. That breaker is a little heavy for the machine buy it sure packs a punch! I was breaking out 12x18" footings without much effort! Helped a neighbor dig a septic in rock. It was a sedimentary concrete conglomerate and we had to go six feet down in it. I broke out a six foot wide, six foot deep, 60 foot long area. That breaker paid for itself quickly! Cheers!!!
I’m always looking for these type of videos bro you have no idea how much it helps I’m a diesel mechanic and it gives a idea what it should look like when you go into it in case mines is different or fall apart on me things happen but I alone with everybody else appreciate you taking the time to do these for us I’ve even wondered should I make some and help others to but the hours I work it would be hard to have a camera person
Hey man hope you’re having a good one hey i appreciate you taking the time to drop a comment and give me some feedback it definitely lets me know what’s helpful and what’s not, yeah it’s definitely a full job doing the filming let alone actually doing the work I know how it is! But yeah man have a good rest of your week glad you got it sorted!
It’s easy enough to take it apart id take it apart per the video and see what it looks like in there then relay back to this comment, can also upload pics to Imgur and provide me the link
i just bought a 742 today , drives bad , i saw your other video on the levers , so plan on doing both , the motors and the lever timing/bushings , i work on drag cars , and skid steer is a whole different ball game , but i see it is relatively simple
I build drift cars honesty it will be cake walk for you, you’ll be surprised how simple and crude these things are. Great machine to learn on though! Drop a comment if you have any questions and I’ll try to help, i appreciate you checking out the video!
Great video....to the point. Some guys are just too long winded for me. I just bought a 743b used and starting to see the leakages and what not it was guaranteed to have. I'll be working them out one at a time. But it runs great!!
I appreciate you taking the time to drop a comment! It definitely motivates me to keep making videos especially if they are well received! In regards to the drive motor it’s super simple biggest pain is just everything is large and heavy but it’s definitely doable! Let me know if you have any issues! Have a good rest of the week! -ds
Hey Allen hope it’s going good your way, ahh might as well do it ourselves that way we know it’s done right you know how it goes. Appreciate you dropping a comment.
Great video! Would love to see one by you on rebuilding the hydraulic pump. I don’t own a skid steer yet but I want to and it’s nice to have the confidence to think I can rebuild parts if I find a good deal on one that needs work. Thanks again!
Hi Doc, Very helpful. I have been rebuilding a 1997 753. I have been putting off rebuilding the drive motors. I ordered the parts today. What could possibly go wrong? Thank you.
Hey Jim hope you’re having a good one, you’ll be glad once you’re done it’s def going to be like a new machine! Honestly if you take your time you shouldn’t have any issues I would recommend disassembling it in a little tray or baking pan in the even you drop one of the little bbs it will be easy to locate aside from that you should be able to knock it out with ease, just follow the steps in the video and you should be golden. Appreciate you dropping a comment 🤙🏻 have a great weekend! -Dr.SidewayZ
Funny thing is this video just popped up when I was planning on rebuilding the drive motors in my burnt bobcat project. I've been subscribed to you for quite a while and never knew you made a video on this. I've been making my own little video series on reviving a burnt to the ground bobcat 7753, Seeing how everything is meant to look is extremely helpful. Thanks for the video.
You know how that algorithm be listening to you in the background hahaha I’m Trying to get a video together on how to do the pivot pins as well but having difficulties getting anyone to replay back with a parts quote. What else do you have that you need to do? You bet hopefully it helped out some!
@@DrSidewayZ It does seem that way sometimes. So far I’ve sanded and painted the machine, tore down the seized Kubota v2203 and got it running, tore down the hydrostatic pumps and had them checked. Rebuilt and resealed. All new hoses, plastic and rubber components. A ton of work but it’s coming together. I understand the difficulty tracking down parts. My project has taken a year to get where it is now. Half that time has been waiting on parts…
@@DrSidewayZ The dealer kept trying to sell me a new machine rather than help with getting parts for me. Getting the correct centering plate guides for my machine has taken over a month… it’s almost like they make it so difficult to fix your older machines on purpose only to make you get a new one.

Absolutely, I’m looking to do a video on how to do control stalk bushings and set the drive creep here soon! Along with other videos. I appreciate the viewership and the sub, is there anything in particular you’re wanting to see? Thanks
So jacking up the one side and putting it on some harbor freight jackstands on level ground I was able to get by without having to drain the case. Hopefully that helps some
Good content and explanation; gave me the confidence to attempt such a job so very successful. Look forward to further postings. Only rough aspect is learning more about the auto focus /field of vision on your camera. The voice over commentary works well so indicates your knack for editing. Thanks from rural South Australia.

Just what I was looking for ...... I never would of attempted this before . I will get the kits ordered for my 2000 bobcat 753 G and get to it . Thank you very much ! Liked and subscribed !
Hi , great video . I’m in England and can’t find a seal replacement kit for my bobcat 773 . The machine was built in 1999 so I understand the motors are an older version . Any suggestions where to get seal kit would be appreciated. Thanks
Hey Tom greetings from America, this is the seal kit I was able to find, it lists the 773 as one of the machines but in the description it outlines a serial number window just make sure your machine falls in that number window and it should fit, loaderpartssource.com/drive-motor-seal-kit-to-replace-bobcat-oem-6660256.html Let me know if you need any more input! -Dr.SidewayZ
Great video. Thanks for taking your time to post videos like this. I am looking to rebuild one of the drive motor on my Bobcat 753. The serial number on mine one is 6657024 and it looks exactly like your one. Can you please tell me the OEM number for the kit you were using in this video? Thanks in advance, and keep doing this kind of videos, it helps a lot 👍👍👍
Thanks for this video. I'm getting ready to rebuild two Parker drive motors that are leaking on a Toro Dingo 323 and I need all the help understanding what I'm doing.
I definitely understand that they honestly should be relatively close in concept and design, obviously it’s not the same motor but perhaps it will give you some insight. Have a great weekend!
On the 743 and 743b I know for a fact it doesn’t idk about other models but the 743 generation is literally what could be described as a water wheel style drive motor
Hey I appreciate your videos! I got a used 753 Bobcat and the hydraulics are really choppy feeling when I turn. Is the rebuild in this video what you think would fix that? Thanks if you see this and respond!
Hi! Nice video. Simple and to the point I have a question My one drive side is going weak, its happened before and i had the dealer rebuild the motor. 2 years ago. So i asked the dealer if its something i could do. He said rebuilding the seals in the motor is easy, but the timing part is whats difficult . Said if the timing is wrong itll screw up the machine I have a bobcat s100 2012 . Didnt see or hear anything in your vid about timing. What am i missing ??
question. is there only one part number for these motors? Is that it located on the outer side of the pump? My apologies, i will rephrase the question. Yes i know theyare separate to the main pump. I have had engine and pump out of mine. One thing I didn't do was referb the wheel motors. Are they branded, type and serial number on the actual motor? Again, great job.
So these 743b only have one style motor that they were produced with, so they work remote of the pump the pump is bolted to the engine these work remote with a hydraulic feed and return these are bolted to the lower case of the bobcat aka the chain case and they index into sprockets that have extremely beefy bike chains that drive the wheels
Hey glad it worked out for you! What did you find helpful? I’m genuinely curious as this is one of my better performing videos! Thanks for checking out the channel!
I think if you followed the same playbook (camera angles, part removal, rebuild, tips, watchouts ect) on other common rebuild parts you'd get a lot of views, because you'd build a following. The 763 is a very common machine with lots of people working on it so its a great one to do vids on all the maintenance and rebuilds. I don't own any others but different older machines mixed in with newer ones if you could find opportunities would interest me just so I can learn. Anything still in warranty won't have many people interested. But the most helpful is how you showed how something that seems undoable for must of us can be easy and like I said in my other comment, gave me the confidence to try, and we like seeing inside stuff that we never could unless you show us. @@DrSidewayZ
Big thanks. I have a late 90's or early 2000's 753. The thing moves slow in forward direction (fast paced walk at best) and only slightly faster in reverse. Watched another rebuild video where the guy didn't know what the two smaller O-rings were for but you did (about the 14:30 to 17:30 mark in your vid). Once the winter is over and the thing will sit for most of the summer I plan to do this rebuild; thanks to you and some other vids that boosted my confidence. Apparently there is a filter on the smaller line where it attaches to the drive motor on some models, for others it is under the cab seat. Just wondering if that starts to plug up it might starve the motors for fluid and power. Keep up the vids. Just subbed.
Thanks I definitely appreciate you taking the time to drop a comment! It’s definitely something you can manage, I would recommend swinging by lowes home improvement and grabbing a cement mixing vat, it will catch any fluid that drains out as you’re disassembling it and potentially any of the little check balls and springs should yours have it plus keep your work area clean. So there possibly are brass filter’s depending on your model, easiest thing I’ve found to do is hop on bobcat parts online and plug in your unit serial and try to search for the filter it should show you where it is. With it being a brass filter you can’t really clean it imagine you took a lot of brass shavings and compress them together that’s essentially what the membrane is in the filter so any debris work into it and you can’t really get it back out as it acts like fish hooks and traps the debris, so I’d definitely recommend replacing them. Have a great rest of your weekend! Let me know if you end up with any questions. I know my content has been all over the place hopefully soon I can get some more content out just been slammed and not having any free time
That filter you are referring to is the case drain filter and there should be one for each drive motor on the machine each in silver hosuings, the case drain just takes the internal leakage of hydraulic oil from the drive motor and returns it to tank to stop the motor pressurising and blowing out seals/causing damage. It does not deliver flow to the drive motor. Definitely worth replacing the filters while you are there and check for wear material which could indicate potential damage. Those filters can catch wear particles and reduce the amount of contamination in your hydraulic system in the event of a drive motor failure
@@A.and.H.Adventures so you’ll have a little come out honestly what I did was take two rubber gloves and just taped them around the end of the lines to catch and hold any fluid that comes out, with the machine off the lines shouldn’t have anything in them except what has been already pumped into them
I have a basket case, New Holland Skid Steer 2011 model year LX 565. I am betting I will need to work on the drive pumps. Do you know if the process in your utube production will be similar? Thanks Tim
The concept should be the same while there may be some inherent differences between the motors it should get you on target it might not be a bullseye but once you get in there if you apply these concepts you shouldn’t have any issues.
Your narration is remarkably good for such a small/young channel, I would though caution you on your use of background music, the wrong music/volume can make your video unwatchable to many people, some forego the music and use their narration and ambient sounds of them working to carry the video. Food for thought. Good job so far. Subbed.
Hey hope you’re having a great weekend, I definitely appreciate the time you took to give me some feedback i definitely appreciate it! I have seen music to be a challenge as from headphones to a tv it sounds vastly different and the gain levels sound completely different. I’m slowly learning about the audio side of it so hopefully with time I’ll get it worked out. Thanks again!
Question - The parts manual shows a seal that sits in the groove where the two check balls are. I didn't see a seal there when you opened it up and I don't have one in mine either. Have you seen this seal used possibly in a different version?
No the drive motor just indexes into the the side of the underbody what the shaft slides into is a chain sprocket that attaches to the drive axles inside the chain case. It doesn’t have to be timed there is a feed and return so essentially think of it as a water wheel, fluid comes in runs the drive motor and exits the drive motor assembly.
It’s honestly not bad man but I’d highly recommend doing both I did one side and then it blew the opposite side out I guess from it being newly sealed and passing that pressure on down the line. If you follow the vid you should be able to knock it out with relative ease. Just make sure to have a torch, vise and a decent work table
Awesome Video. Very clear each step. I have an old 863 that one side is slower that the other side. So this might be what takes care of it ? What was yours doing when you decided to rebuild it ? Thanks
Couldn’t hurt, sounds like either you’re not building enough pressure or the pressure is bleeding off around the orings, this is definitely the cheaper route in diagnosing it, mine would buck almost like you’re trying to start a car in 2nd or 3rd gear from a standstill
Thank you so much for this video. I have a 743b that I have to rebuild two drive motors on and this video was a tremendous help. And BTW, I love the fact that you were direct and to the point. I hate watching how to videos where the person recording rambles on endlessly about nonsense. Can you please let me know which kit you purchased for your rebuild? Thanks
Appreciate you dropping a comment, here’s the kits that I used loaderpartssource.com/lps-drive-motor-seal-kit-to-replace-bobcatr-oem-6659601.html Drive Motor Seal Kit to replace Bobcat® OEM 6659601 SKU: LPS6659601 $95.22 as of Aug 19th 2022 I’m in the same boat I hate those videos you always find yourself fast forwarding and end up missing some key points. Let me know if you need anything Appreciate you checking out the video!
I saw the mechanics doing this but man you made it so easy to follow, thanks! One question, how do you know if the drive motor is bad, or if the seal kit won't fix it? What does a shelled out drive motor look like?
So with this particular drive motor you honestly have to get foreign substances introduced into it to really wipe the vanes but even then the vanes are cylindrical round stock that’s machined to tight tolerances so the potential for it to bleed from one port to the next is extremely rare. Most of the time the the rubber orings just dry out and the Teflon backed is allowed to move about until the hydraulic pressure is able to shear the seals and then it’s able to bleed off pressure with no fail safe to catch it so it would feel like if you’re starting a manual car out in second or third gear because essentially you would be just on the second and third stage of the pump valving. Honestly I’d recommend doing it on any new machine you get or even if you have a old one sitting around it’s easy to do. Hopefully that helps some
Hey glad it worked out for you! What did you find helpful? I’m genuinely curious as this is one of my better performing videos! Thanks for checking out the channel!
It’s in the description but the lovely RUclips update made the description hard to find, Today Im going to be rebuilding my drive motor on my Bobcat 743B, the 743 should be identical. I recently rebuilt my left drive motor which is essentially identical to this DIY just a mirrored version of the right pump. Loader parts source which I am not affiliated in any way with has the best bang for the buck kit on the market the factory bobcat kit is insanely expensive and obviously not really worth it with this one coming in so cheap. To Do this rebuild you will need. 1. Breaker bar 1/2" 2. SAE standard Allen/Hex sockets 3. SAE socket set 4. 1/2" to 3/8" socket reducer 5. Various 1/2" extensions 6. Impact gun however not necessary will make your job easier 7. Heat source, I used a acetylene torch a map torch will be just as effective 8. A workbench or a vice secured so you can break pump bolts loose 9. Two large adjustable crescent wrenches 10. Some Dielectric grease as this type of grease will not swell the o-rings and provides enough lubrication. Hey Doc, I assume I need to replace both drive motors ($3000 aftermarket) on my 743 because they squeal like a pig in labor and are not at all smooth. If you think replacing the seals might help I'd certainly try it. Thanks for the great video; I'm looking forward to your upcoming creep adjust fix.
Hey Carl hope all is well, if you’re anything like me I don’t just have 3k laying around if I was in your shoes I’d pull them off and open them up honestly idk what would make them squeal the only thing that comes to mind is possibly hydraulic pressure bleeding off around the orings and Teflon backers or possibly the 9 rollers perhaps they got some rust in there not sure it honestly should make itself abundantly clear once you’re in them as to what the problem is. If there’s not much damage I’d just reseal them. As for the creep video I’m going to do it as soon as possible just been tied up with work and a non profit that It’s been too late of the evenings to film but I’ll get you something worked up here soon👍🏼 have a great rest of the week and let me know what you find.
HI , Thanks for your video really appreciate it I have a Toyota SDK7 and the hydraulic motor was leaking into the chain sump , your video shows a motor that's like mine with a seal i did not see until i watched you take it out ,hopefully this is my problem . just wondering what was the problem with yours? cheers from South Australia
No problem glad to help, so it would buck and not drive forward smoothly, almost like if you were driving a manual car and stared out in second gear. After doing the seals and bushings it operates great now, are you able to see where it’s leaking at? Is there anyway it could be a hydraulic line?
Haven't had anything to do with Toyota skid steers but assuming it's the same as a Bobcat it sounds like the carrier seals between the drive motor and chaincase are leaking and letting hyd fluid bypass into the chaincase instead of returning to tank via the drive motor hoses and case drain. Could be quite a big job depending on how the Toyotas are designed
It is for one motor, loaderpartssource.com/drive-motor-seal-kit-to-replace-bobcat-oem-6659601.html?amp=1 It’s went up a little I got it for $94 but now it’s $124 I guess the mess we went though made prices go up

There are companies who can inject foam under your slab to relevel it this may help with your sunken driveway. Never tried it so I am not endorsing it just thought you might want to check it out
Hey Fred hope it’s going good your way! I was tossing around the idea tbh I’m just wondering how it would do with weight, I have a Humvee that I park on it and she’s heavy. But at the end of the day concrete is crazy expensive right now so I’m torn.
@@DrSidewayZ Good question. My parents had tried it with a 4 ft pool slab around their pool problem was it was too broken and all the joints had grout repairs that prevented it from lifting correctly. Yours looks like a giant unbroken slab. Foam can handle alot of weight when distributed look at building foundations when they create them over foam sheet. I would investigate could be a great cheap fix. Like your channel very interesting repairs

Basically acting like you’re not starting in first gear but 3rd, it would buck and not move forward smoothly looked like some kid learning to drive a manual car for the first time
That’s a lot of money that you could save just follow the video and it should be real close to the 763 drive motor, for the seal kit it is different get your serial number off your bobcat and go here loaderpartssource.com/search/?q=763+drive+motor+seal+kit There are a couple various kits on their website so you need to find which one matches your serial number

Drive motor potentially being my worst case scenario so I’m tumimg in brother so like with anything I like to be comcious of meeey potential issues…… big question for u is because my s250 just Started clicking loudly when pushing forward/ rev leaver driver side lever today im not sure what all pertains mechanically to a tire man Not want engage as normal without huge lack of power to that side of my wheel base and clicking almost like teeth on a broken gear of some sort . Does this video pertain to My issue u think? I havehydtaulic power at attachments and elsewhere just flicking loudly when turning nut more so In 1 directiom. In cars I’d say cars I’d call it on the c.v. shaft here im very new amd have allot deep dome ok this machine! Thanks so luc for the ur genuine concern for others and ur work ethic! U will make it places for sure little brother
Hey I appreciate the kind words, honestly the s250 more then likely has a different drive motor but as with all drive motors they should not be clicking and realistically there shouldn’t be any room within them to allow for something to click internally to them. Does it only do it in forwards or does it make the same sound in reverse?
It would be super expensive to ship a unit they are quite heavy also I’m swamped here lately just follow the video and you can knock it out with a little trial and error main thing is just having the right tools, a torch, and a vise to hold it to brake the bolts loose it’s super simple you got this!
You bet! Hopefully it helped some it’s straight forward, if it did help and if it’s not too much to ask would you please consider liking the video and subscribing?
@@Alexr2735 I have in the pipeline a vid on how to do the stalk bushings, and how to set creep. Just fighting this tropical storm off and once it clears up I should be able to get that knocked out 🤙🏻
dont be lax about making everything perfectly clean when repairing hydraulic stuff. that is if you care out your equipment. scrub the outside with wire brush and cleaner or pressure wash first before taking motors and pumps apart and the quality of your repair will be that much better.
When using grease to hold seals in place for reassembly, you really need to choose one that will dissolve in your hydraulic fluid. Dielectric grease is silicone based. Silicone will not dissolve into your hydraulic fluid. I would suggest using a standard assembly lube or bearing grease.
Great video! Thank you! I'm surprised at how often this sort of video has saved my a$$ or saved me dollars and/or time. Thanks!

Something else that helped mine was doing the steering bushings. ruclips.net/video/W0TkPPZlIHs/видео.html
If you need anything let me know! Have a great rest of your week!

In regards to the stuck bolts: You'll call me a liar but a old timer taught me to use wax after I heat up the bolt. Does amazing work on them.
That’s awesome! Like carnauba wax? I’m assuming paste and not liquid. I’m definitely going to give it a try I sure do appreciate the heads up!
I’ll have to check that out i appreciate the heads up!
Hahah have a good one man
One thing I didn't see. Mark the cases and put them back in the same orientation.
Thanks, especially some encouragement. Doing a 643, some pretty big
differences in removal. Having some trouble removing the keyed gear shaft from the pump. On the 643 the whole shaft and gears comes out. The inside simular. Again thanks
Hey hopefully it gave you some insight and hopefully motivated you a bit to get it knocked out and save some money!
Cheers!!!

I have a delay in movement, what advice can u give me on the way forward to fix it,????
Thanks
If I have a knocking noise from my drive motor will a rebuild work or does it sound like I need a new one please help any prospective is welcome.
It’s easy enough to take it apart id take it apart per the video and see what it looks like in there then relay back to this comment, can also upload pics to Imgur and provide me the link
@@DrSidewayZ it was the bearings little more labor intensive but cheaper parts for sure thank you for the reply
i have a wilmar wrangler articulated loader . ineed rebild kit has POwers drive motors
Oring backers are usually used to keep the orings from squishing out into the tight corners where they get cut or pushed through.
i just bought a 742 today , drives bad , i saw your other video on the levers , so plan on doing both , the motors and the lever timing/bushings , i work on drag cars , and skid steer is a whole different ball game , but i see it is relatively simple
Without the video I wouldn't have even considered building my motor
I appreciate you taking the time to drop a comment! It definitely motivates me to keep making videos especially if they are well received! Thanks for your video. I'm sure I could do that on mine but just need a video of how to remove my skid plate on my 751
Hopefully it helped!
I'm guessing you saved yourself about $4-500 right there. I appreciate the video.
I’ll see what I can do I appreciate you following up and checking out my vids!

You know how that algorithm be listening to you in the background hahaha I’m
Trying to get a video together on how to do the pivot pins as well but having difficulties getting anyone to replay back with a parts quote.
Man getting parts here lately has been a complete disaster! Dang sounds like it will be good as new once you’re back together!
@@DrSidewayZ The dealer kept trying to sell me a new machine rather than help with getting parts for me. Getting the correct centering plate guides for my machine has taken over a month… it’s almost like they make it so difficult to fix your older machines on purpose only to make you get a new one.
Honestly I prefer the old mechanical beasts over the new electric everything days, sure certain features are nice but good luck with a field repair

You bet! Hopefully it helped out some. It’s straightforward it just helps seeing inside of one before you go at it. Thanks
Hi could you please do more 743 repair videos ,thank you
Absolutely, I’m looking to do a video on how to do control stalk bushings and set the drive creep here soon! Along with other videos. I appreciate the viewership and the sub, is there anything in particular you’re wanting to see? Thanks
did you have to drain the chain case first. thanks.
So jacking up the one side and putting it on some harbor freight jackstands on level ground I was able to get by without having to drain the case. Hopefully that helps some
Do you need to top off the hydrolic fluid and bleed the system after this procedure?
Yes top it off but it will self bleed
Good content and explanation; gave me the confidence to attempt such a job so very successful. Look forward to further postings. As others have done. Thanks for sharing, from Aus. I have a machine in such a remote area, Information such as this is invaluable.
Hey mate I sure do appreciate it!! I appreciate you taking the time to comment and drop a honest review! Have a great weekend!
Dealer said motor needs timed.. didn't see anything about that in your video.. does it actually?
On the 743 and 743b I know for a fact it doesn’t idk about other models but the 743 generation is literally what could be described as a water wheel style drive motor
Hey I appreciate your videos! I got a used 753 Bobcat and the hydraulics are really choppy feeling when I turn. Is the rebuild in this video what you think would fix that? Thanks if you see this and respond!

Hey Larry hope you’re having a good weekend man did you get it knocked out? Hopefully it helped a bit
Hi! Nice video. Simple and to the point
I have a question
My one drive side is going weak, its happened before and i had the dealer rebuild the motor. 2 years ago. So i asked the dealer if its something i could do. He said rebuilding the seals in the motor is easy, but the timing part is whats difficult . Said if the timing is wrong itll screw up the machine
I have a bobcat s100 2012 .
So these 743b only have one style motor that they were produced with, so they work remote of the pump the pump is bolted to the engine these work remote with a hydraulic feed and return these are bolted to the lower case of the bobcat aka the chain case and they index into sprockets that have extremely beefy bike chains that drive the wheels
hey man, I know it's an older vid but this was so helpful and have me the confidence to try it myself! Thanks!!
@@DrSidewayZ when you remove the hydraulic lines do you have to drain hydraulic fluid to the machine or anything?
@@A.and.H.Adventures so you’ll have a little come out honestly what I did was take two rubber gloves and just taped them around the end of the lines to catch and hold any fluid that comes out, with the machine off the lines shouldn’t have anything in them except what has been already pumped into them
@@DrSidewayZ ok perfect I thought I’d have to drain the hydraulic fluid and flush after putting back together thanks!!! A huge help
Thanks for the Video. I Imagine it would be similar to the 763 at the golf course I'm wrenching at.
Any update?
I’d venture to say it’s a different model I see no reason for a seal to exist there or where it would even sit.
Best torque spec, goodentight!
Hahahaha
wen you go back together with the complete pump assembly did you have to time the pump in any manner?? thanks
@@DrSidewayZ ok but I mean the 3 parts of the pump itself flange valve body and top of pump. Do you just line up 2 drain holes n bolt it back together
Awesome overview! I’m going to pick mine up today can’t wait to start!
That’s awesome is it your first one? You’ll definitely fall in love with it! It’s so useful and practical!
@@DrSidewayZ No I’ve had two before and have done well with them
Hi nice video. Do you think a high speed motor like on a lawnmower is internally a lot different than the slow & high torque motor you opened?
So I’m honestly not sure, possibly it does look like the hydrostatic drive motors are like that from just a simple google image search
Great video man. Pretty sure I'm.abojt to have to rebuild my driver side drive motor on my 753
It’s honestly not bad man but I’d highly recommend doing both I did one side and then it blew the opposite side out I guess from it being newly sealed and passing that pressure on down the line. If you follow the vid you should be able to knock it out with relative ease. Just make sure to have a torch, vise and a decent work table
Could you tell me why my seals keep blowing out every 6 to 8 hours?
Which seals is it?
I'm sorry!! The drive motor seals left side.
I’m in the same boat I hate those videos you always find yourself fast forwarding and end up missing some key points.
Let me know if you need anything
Appreciate you checking out the video!
Hopefully that helps some
nice video. great explanations, clear easy to understand instructional video. thank you very much.
Hey glad it worked out for you! What did you find helpful? I’m genuinely curious as this is one of my better performing videos!
Thanks for checking out the channel!
Well hell ya...what's the information to get the parts?
It’s in the description but the lovely RUclips update made the description hard to find,
Today Im going to be rebuilding my drive motor on my Bobcat 743B, the 743 should be identical.
1. Breaker bar 1/2"
2. SAE standard Allen/Hex sockets
3. SAE socket set
4. 1/2" to 3/8" socket reducer
5. Various 1/2" extensions
6. Impact gun however not necessary will make your job easier
7. Heat source, I used a acetylene torch a map torch will be just as effective
8. A workbench or a vice secured so you can break pump bolts loose
9. Two large adjustable crescent wrenches

Is the Drive Motor Seal kit from LPS for both sides or will I need two kits to do both sides?
It is for one motor,

It’s went up a little I got it for $94 but now it’s $124 I guess the mess we went though made prices go up
great video I must have a early 743 pump's little different but really helpful
Hey i appreciate it, hopefully it’s helpful to someone
hi what is the name of the place you bay this rebild kit
Everything is listed in the video description however, here’s a directly if you need it loaderpartssource.com/drive-motor-seal-kit-to-replace-bobcat-oem-6659601.html
Thanks for checking out my channel if there is anything else I can help you with just let me know
There are companies who can inject foam under your slab to relevel it this may help with your sunken driveway.
What is the part number of the kit

came across your channel, nice work mate !!!
Hopefully this helped a bit
Dielectric grease, petroleum jelly, transmission assembly lube, all good, never use grease, because it will not pass through the filter.
Also petroleum based lubricant can sometimes swell orings causing you to Nick them when installing them too
Very Helpful! I have that job coming up.
Awesome feel free to subscribe and if you end up having any questions drop me a comment and I’ll try my best to help out! It’s pretty straightforward to be honest. Have a great rest of your week! Appreciate the comment!
What was it doing to know you needed to rebuild?
Basically acting like you’re not starting in first gear but 3rd, it would buck and not move forward smoothly looked like some kid learning to drive a manual car for the first time
Where did you get the kit?
Loader parts source
What fails on these motors?
The orings and backers
Thank you keep on keeping on
I'm going to do this my mechanic it's saying about 3500 to replace this on my 763 I didn't k ow that u can rebuild this
That’s a lot of money that you could save just follow the video and it should be real close to the 763 drive motor, for the seal kit it is different get your serial number off your bobcat and go here
loaderpartssource.com/search/?q=763+drive+motor+seal+kit
There are a couple various kits on their website so you need to find which one matches your serial number
Awesome tutorial!! Very well done. New subscriber
Hey hope you’re having a good week! I definitely appreciate the feedback, seldom do i actually hear anything from anyone so I definitely appreciate it! Helps motivate me to make more videos! And i appreciate the sub!
@@DrSidewayZ I've had a good week, thank you. Hope you have too. I appreciate the great content.
Thanks mate, great video. Keep up the good work!
Hey i appreciate you checking out the video and also the kind words! Have a great rest of your week let me know if you run into any issues.
Drive motor potentially being my worst case scenario so I’m tumimg in brother so like with anything I like to be comcious of meeey potential issues…… big question for u is because my s250 just Started clicking loudly when pushing forward/ rev leaver driver side lever today im not sure what all pertains mechanically to a tire man
Not want engage as normal without huge lack of power to that side of my wheel base and clicking almost like teeth on a broken gear of some sort .
Thanks for the help.
Hey hope you’re having a good week! Hopefully it did help! Was there anything specific that it helped out most with?
Great video! Just what I needed
Hey I appreciate it! Hopefully it helped!
Thanks mate from australia
Hopefully this helped a bit
THANKS
Appreciate you dropping in!
Can I mail you one and u can rebuild it?
It would be super expensive to ship a unit they are quite heavy also I’m swamped here lately just follow the video and you can knock it out with a little trial and error main thing is just having the right tools, a torch, and a vise to hold it to brake the bolts loose it’s super simple you got this!
Thanks great information.
You bet! Hopefully it helped some it’s straight forward, if it did help and if it’s not too much to ask would you please consider liking the video and subscribing?
@@DrSidewayZ absolutely, and make some more on the bobcat when you can, I own a 743, old but I really like it, again thanks.
@@Alexr2735 I have in the pipeline a vid on how to do the stalk bushings, and how to set creep. Just fighting this tropical storm off and once it clears up I should be able to get that knocked out 🤙🏻
Thanks for sharing
Hopefully it was helpful!
Good video brother
Hey Dvpdaddy hope you’re having a good weekend, appreciate you dropping by and leaving a comment.
Excellent thank you
Hey I sure do appreciate it hopefully it helped out a bit!
Great job.
Thanks I sure do appreciate the kind words hopefully it helped you out
I ain't got much coin but I can send a few comments
dont be lax about making everything perfectly clean when repairing hydraulic stuff. that is if you care out your equipment. scrub the outside with wire brush and cleaner or pressure wash first before taking motors and pumps apart and the quality of your repair will be that much better.
I ran it through the parts washer at work and got it cleaned up
Amazing job...
Thanks I definitely appreciate you taking the time to drop a comment! Have a great rest of your weekend!
When using grease to hold seals in place for reassembly, you really need to choose one that will dissolve in your hydraulic fluid. Dielectric grease is silicone based. Silicone will not dissolve into your hydraulic fluid. I would suggest using a standard assembly lube or bearing grease.
15min shuttle valve. Note to self:)
Great video!.
Appreciate you dropping in!
