    Thank you Andrew. The symptoms you described are the same as my 642 right side. I would like to rebuild the drive motor on the right side and film it. Since I rebuilt transmissions for over 25 years it should be no problem. But only if I can find the parts. I will of course film it and upload to my Repair playlist. Ill be sure to give you a shout out in the Video.

    Good job, and finally, a man who uses a 'real' impact wrench. No more waiting for air to build up in a compressor,..and have to drag out air hose, making sure that there is no moisture in the air line's in cold weather especially.
    I like those tire/wheel combo's. You'll get your money's worth from these, I'm sure.

    Andrew, you are having a lot of trouble with these bobcat's how in the world are you having 2 drivemotors (on the tracked one) rebuilt within 2900 hours. Poclain drivemotors on the small sized "knikmops" seem to last 8000 hours or more. Even without changing the hydraulic oil every 1000 hours. And they have 4 of them. Greetings from a machinery machanic. If you ever have questions, feel free to send a message.

  • @JimsEquipmentShed
    @JimsEquipmentShed 6 лет назад +2

    My takeuchi jammed up, but it wasn't the hydo part to the track motor, it was the gear set.
    No replacements, or parts availability for units over 15 years old.
    So I took it apart, removed the chunks, and filed the bent stuff out of the housing.
    Takeuchi was willing to sell me two new units (As the speeds wouldn't match what the current models ran at.)
    I passed as I'm not made of fucking money.

    • @AndrewCamarata
      @AndrewCamarata  6 лет назад

      They available aftermarket? Or look for used? If not maybe make another part fit, or make the parts that are needed?

    • @JimsEquipmentShed
      @JimsEquipmentShed 6 лет назад +2

      Andrew Camarata The planetary’s lost some teeth, and proceeded to bend up a few of the softer housing ring teeth.
      The oem no longer offered anything close, and my machine was just about worth the price of buying one track motor, much less two.
      So I would have popped for one, but I could’ve justify anything past that.
      None of the local shops worked on anything small, and I really couldn’t give up the machine to mail it around with out a timeline.
      I got it working, and sold it after I bought my kubota excavator. (The new owner was well aware of the defect, I showed him my videos on the track motor repair.)
      But it really shied me away from buying a Takeuchi in the future.

    Did you check your drive chains lately? I have a bobcat 773 with 6000 hours and took cover off to check oil level and my drive chains are so loose they touch the bottom of the chaincase. Bobcat said once they start slapping the chaincase its timeto replace them before they break and cause more damage. Im wondering if they can be replaced without removing the sprokets by maybe cutting them then tying the new chain to the old one and pull the old one out as the new one goes around the sproket. Instead of doing 10 times more work and removing axles and sprokets etc.

    Is this a 3rd bobcat? Sounds like a diesel engine.

    • @AndrewCamarata
      @AndrewCamarata  6 лет назад +11

      Its diesel, I got it a couple years ago with the 742.

    • @Ezrider359
      @Ezrider359 6 лет назад +5

      the 7 represents the size 4 the generation and 3 is a diesel engine and 2 would be a gas so being a 743 means its a mid size 4th generation diesel (i think around 1300lb rated lift capacity for the 4 series) 4 series should be early 90's if memory serves. probably more info than you wanted to know....lol

      I was always curious what the numbering scheme was. I had a 443 from 1988, so I'm always keen on his Bobcat videos. By my count, he's got 3 of them now.

      the next series where they changed to the s-t designations gets real simple s for tires t for tracks a s250 would be a tire machine with a 2500lb rated lift capacity. the newest ones though im not sure how they came up with there numbering system. i like his bobcat video's as well not really sure why though....lol

    Thanks Andrew. How many hours dose this loader have? I would say a drive pump is major. My JCB always pulls to one side just a bit. As you know I'm hoping to change it out this year for a tacked Kubota.
