  • The Bobcat had always been a bit jerky, but that all went downhill when one side wouldn't go forward.

    I have yet to put it back on the machine.... soon will know (fingers crossed) this video was a blessing... Thank you so very much.... I am not a mechanic just a youtube do it yourselfer. I do have one question if you can please. I did both motors 100% the same from the tear down to the amount of dielectric grease and step by step install using Hydro fluid on the rollers..... Had everything clean and then cleaned again. When together I can not turn the shaft by hand (I could before build).... My bigger question is one shaft turns with a rag and crescent wrench with one finger both directions ....... the other motor with a rag and crescent wrench turns both directions however it is a major effort.... I would say 1/3 to 1/4 as smooth? ..... will this free up once under pressure of the machine?.... Thoughts and impute greatly appreciated. Thank you again!

    Great video. I did my left drive motor following Jake's procedures. I also had trouble with that number 19 back ring fitting down into the slot. It seemed to want to jump out. I finally just sat the grower in on top and tightened everything up. I am in the process of diagnosing an oil seep. I am getting a some drippage under the Bobcat onto the floor. Not sure if it is just fluid I lost when disconnecting the hoses and it is slowly coming out. Or if it could be that backing ring not fitting down in the slot. I did buy a 1'5/16 wrench to help loosen the top hydraulic hoses. I have taken the side plate off and felt around the drive motor after using it and it does seem to be wet.

    Excellent video and great content hope you keep making more. Got to do both of my drives on a 943 looks like i need to take out the control lever/foot pedal tub assembly to get them out. The motors are moving still just both must of blew the seals cause both front axles are leaking hydraulic oil out them and I am guessing the Chain case is over full of oil. Boy they made these machines real easy to work on didn't they. HA HA Everything is really cramped on mine.

      I hear you.... It's tight. I thought oil would run out of the chain case too. It didn't. The stub shaft goes into some sort of sealed gear. I think?

      It could be your seals are bad caused by the bearings and races being bad. I redid all my seals and bearings last year on my 753. It is quite a job getting the races out and back in but there are some videos out there to watch.

    Nice video Jake. I need to do this on my 843....once it warms up a bit. I am not sure how you managed to do this without destroying that nice shirt😂 I can't go into my shop without getting covered! Keep it up!

    Great video. I have two questions: What is the wrench size to remove the hose to the drive motor-1’’ maybe? Where do you get the red plastic threaded plugs to keep the fluid from draining and their size? Thanks

    • @publicprofile1
      @publicprofile1  2 года назад

      I don't remember the wrench size off the top of my head. But it was a JIC fitting, so you can look up a chart online. Harbor freight has a good price on a large wrench set. The plugs came from the hydro hose store. They gave them to me for free.

    How did you handle the indentation from the roller? You were very concerned but didn't mention it again! Great video!

      I rubbed it lightly on an oil stone. Just enough to knock down the burr. Seemed to work.

    How did you get the #19 backing ring to stay down?

    Can anyone tell me what size allen sockets were used-first for the small valves and then for the large four bolts. Thanks

    • @jackjenkins2065
      @jackjenkins2065 3 года назад

      1/2" hex socket. You need the hex socket so you can torque down the bolts.

    Hi Jake !! I REALLY NEED HELP ON THIS :(
    srry about my english
    I'm chilean and I have the same problem as u were, but a guy scammed me out of money and he lost my "rebuild kit" , I watched your tutorial video and looked for a new "rebuild kit" but it cost too much in my country. All I want to know is how much did it cost to you in dollars or where did you buy it? I need to know that to know if im being scammed again by the high cost they told me.
    I don't know if you are still responding commentaries but I would love if you answer this :(
