I realized it seems like I called the houndstooth skirt gingham, but I was comparing that I see gingham as a picnic gal style versus houndstooth being more of a sophisticated pattern. Got a couple comments correcting me and I was so confused why, but just realized I never said houndstooth! My bad!
Either way totally agree with you!! Gingham does feel summery versus houndstooth feels very fancy! I love gingham!
In French, it would be called a “pied de poule” pattern, aka 'chicken foot,' which I think is cuter & more evocative as a reference/descriptor. Sometimes 'pied de coq' (rooster foot) is seen to refer to a larger-scale version of this weave.
That green top at the end looks great on you. I think you’re right that sewing the shoulders down a bit would solve your issue with it!

I always pick up tons of things no matter where I shop (when I'm shopping for clothes), then go through and make tough decisions, which sometimes means I leave with nothing. I can't believe people were (hopefully only minorly?) annoyed with you about that. That's life! No sense in being wasteful. 💛

Honestly, I have similar ballerina skirts but I either wear them with a top of choice + blazer to make it sophisticated OR I wear the skirts with an oversized sweater and tuck it in to make it more casual! They're also great for making a basic t-shirt in the summer look "cuter" when most of the effort is the skirt (and it's flowy and light)! 👌🏾

That's why I love going to the thrift store...to find those unique items! And over the years my style sure has changed! I used to buy oversize sweatshirts and lots of Tshirts that had pictures on them. Now I am way more stylish! My self confidence has gone up too! Bold prints and bright colors and leggings or pants with patterns... The thrift store is SO much fun!
Personally, I think it’s a great idea to buy sweaters during the warm weather, especially if you know that you will wear it when the season come. I feel that winter clothes are cheaper during the summer and summer clothes are cheaper in the winter!

Charity shops just reopened in the UK but I'm still a bit nervous to go...this has me wanting to go so badly though! Hopefully there will be some cute stuff even in the tiny shops we have 😅🥰
Awww don’t push yourself until you’re ready!! Also bring supplies to keep yourself safe as well and try going in the mornings! Most thrift stores aren’t as packed in the mornings (not sure if it’s the same in the UK though!)
