Okay you will have to let me know if I should add anything/decorating tips because like I said I was feeling SO indecisive!! I honestly almost didn't upload this video because I felt like maybe I didn't do "enough" to makeover the space, but I am proud of what I did do and wanted to share this new space with you all so hopefully you enjoyed ❤
Don't worry Alexa! We don't expect things to get done in the blink of an eye, renovations take time and effort. I think it's nice to see a slow change, it feels more realistic and doable. Keep up the good job and I love to see your enthusiasm with this new apartment. I hope I'll turn out just the way you envision it❤
Yeah it looks great and if it functions the way you need it to for filming then it’s perfect! I think the rug could look cute and add some color and interest to the space. Maybe you could try it out and move it somewhere else if you decide you don’t like it there?
Maybe a small couch/sofa or daybed somewhere to seperate the areas, maybe against the wall between your office and the shelve. Obvi, area rugs works as well. Maybe turn the clothing rack so it sticks out from the wall instead of being against the wall ... Does that make sense, i mean instead of '--' its like 'I' and creates an area behind it where you could have another shelving unit and put some stuff you like to look at from your chair that does not fit on the wavy shelf, that, by the way, is beautiful ! That way you could have the pink checkered rug in front of the mirror and create a little area there ☺
For me personally, the look of everything being on the ground looks messy. I think you should put the art on the wall. It will open up the space. Idk if you follow Trixie Mattel, but she just renovated her home and I think you could get some inspiration from her home makeover. It was very inspiring for me
LOVE!! Maybe some translucent/blurry window film on the parts you’re blurring out now will help with editing/post but still let the natural light in! Super renter friendly too
You could add white transparent linen curtains on the windows to maybe help you not have to blur the window out every video but still let light in. Also I think a rug would be essential in that space especially if you want to keep the walls white which I think is a great idea! If you were to add wall art maybe something textured and white instead of colorful that way it doesn’t take away from outfits or videos! Love your content!!!
i love the space! i would suggest hanging up the frame near your shelf just so that your eyes are drawn a bit up (everything is floor-centric right now) that way you can use up the amazing ceiling height of the space!
May I suggest a set (or 2) of curtains for the "filling the wall" problem. Colored/patterned curtains would accentuate the height of the room and a transparent curtain between the colored ones solves your window blurring issue.
Be careful with windows in closets. Clothes will get sun faded before you know it, especially SoCal sun. Either get a blind for the window or be very careful what clothing is in the line of the sun.
😊Yep, our galley kitchen w/a huge picture window NEVER gets direct sun☀️ the way the house is oriented & w/the overhangs. Still, our back maple wood cabinetry has all been bleached blonde while all the base ones on the other side remain dark. UV Rays are ⚡️powerful stuff. Natural light is great, but faded clothes would not be fun. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)
Cute space! Rechargeable puck lights would be great for the darkness on the shelving. I use a set to give my bookshelves custom lighting (without having to occupy another outlet). I put some peel and stick Velcro on the lights so I can easy remove them to charge and stick em back under the shelf
Go for the best of both worlds! Meaning, hang your art, and then add ceiling mount curtain rails from one end of that wall to the other (not too difficult or rental unfriendly) with airy white curtains that you can pull to cover the whole wall (minus windows) during filming/filming in that direction. It's already looking cute! Since you did ask for advice, I would love to see an xl rug in the middle (or layered rugs linking areas of the room), and you might consider a second squiggle shelf right next to the first. And (last 2 suggestions, I swear) I personally would move one of the lamps to another area, as they seem too close together at the moment and having scattered ambient light is also lovely, and it would be so cozy to add a big reading/relaxing chair and side table (maybe in front of the equipment corner).
Love the white walls so much better, good job to you and John! I'm obsessed with the natural light in that room. I think keeping it minimal decorating-wise is good to start with and you can always switch stuff out and rearrange as you go along. Glad you uploaded this!
Yes to a rug!! Use that checkered one you said you bought once! It would look amazing! ❤ (also like others suggested, you can add thin linen curtains or roman shades or a film on those windows you're blurring out) I love mixing interior designs too. It brings so much character to a space!
Congrats on your new space!! Love the sustainable decor ❤️ I would suggest to put things of different heights closer to the walls and some furniture in the middle so it creates a more dimensional space and not only “side” design. Love you!!!
I think you should add the pink rug I like a little color and I don't think you should compromise you entirely for RUclips you know 🤷🤷 it's your living space do what makes you comfortable
I love it your style is call eclectic It just stuff you love and little by little it will be filled with the things that make you happy just love so happy for you 🪴🌼🌞
I’m glad you kept it colorful even though it’s more minimal. Too many people associate minimalism with colorlessness nowadays and it’s sad. I’m looking forward to a bedroom makeover now since you’ll be able to do a bit more with it.
I've had my house for a bit over a year and I FEEL when you said you felt the need to buy stuff and questioning your decisions in my core. I'm thinking about changing everything. Even if you felt like you didn't do enough, I think it was nice to see. Not to mention more realistic than folks that can immediately buy all new stuff! Congrats on the new place :)
I absolutely love this new space! I think you added the perfect amount of trinkets and personalisation to make it feel like you whilst still being a little bare which makes it not chaotic. I noticed you had to blur out your windows for privacy. I don't know if you plan on adding curtains? If you just want privacy whilst having light coming in, Ikea sells these paper blinds that create this blurred effect but still let a lot of light coming in. It might be good for windows that the cat won't use (ie the one above your trinket table). Anyways, can't wait for the full apartment tour!
It looks beautiful! I personally love the usual maximalist backgrounds of your videos, so personally I think it would look so cute with lots of artwork on the walls and the checkered rug. But I totally get that it makes filming harder! And I'm sure it will look great no matter what you settle on :) And OMG I am so envious of your big closet!
I love your new space! brains are so funny because I think you did MORE THAN ENOUGH for this makeover! I love the idea of adding a rug to tie it together a bit & want to echo other comments re film for the windows to help you blur! Loving the new space and hope you are too❤
I really recommend the Hinomi office chair! Comes in cute colours, very adjustable, and it can fold down to sit under your desk if you need extra room, there's even a leg rest! Love your new setup - it's so cute!
Definitely need something on the wall next to the shelf. Everything on the ground just really pulls the eye down in a way that looks unfinished. Just my two cents. :)
Alexa! This is so beautiful! 🥹🫶 I do think that your pink checkered rug would tie it all together. Also, how would it look if you put that “New Yorker” poster between the floor pant and clothing rack? 🌸🐈⬛ I’m obsessed with that poster, it’s such a chill vibe and I think it would be super cute in frame!
A big colourful rug would add a pop of colour at the bottom on your videos and cafe curtains on the bottom Half of your windows your give you privacy whilst letting in light for filming 😊
I saw a couple comments saying they didn’t like the trim staying a cream/beige with the white walls, but I just want to say that I love the subtle contrast!
Congrats on the new place! It looks beautiful 🌸 have you tried to put the long white lamp on top of the sofa table in the corner? I feel like she needs the moment 🫰🤌
I love the idea of adding a really cute standing room divider (or shelving unit) and area rug to sort of section off the space in the room! Like one part of it is your little office nook, and the rest is for filming. I also think you could add a stained glass decal to your window so you don’t have to blur it out anymore 🫶🏻🫶🏻 Oh and maybe a wallpapered accent wall?? Just to add some nice texture so the room isn’t so stark white everywhere
i swear we have so many of the same clothes😂😂 i have the same vintage motorcycle sweatshirt!! so excited for this video this is the content i’ve been beggingggg for from you lol!
So nice to see you so happy with your new space after some earlier places that stressed you out! Wonderful to have such an airy room. Like others, I have window-related thoughts. Maybe a tiny tension rod with a sheer panel for the lower part of the room windows so you can draw it across the part you’re blurring out when filming but then leave it open for your & the cats’ view the rest of the time. And then definitely some kind of dark shade or UV filter material to protect your clothes, especially those right in front of the windows, in the closet. It would be sad if they got faded by the sun.
If you are open to suggestions I would recommend moving most, if not all of the clothes into the main room, that way you have ample room to build outfits, display the clothes nicely and film the clothes. And instead of plastic bins for folding clothes get a dresser that you can then put decor items on top of, you can find a vintage dresser at goodwill.(I would watch that video). I just think it will be more pleasing to the viewer to be able to see all your clothes and not feel as cramped in that packed closet. I like how you used to have your clothes on multiple clothing racks. Also I think it would be easier to come up with video ideas when you are able to easily access all of your clothes faster and more efficient to not have to move clothes back and forth whenever you want to use them in a video. Also do you own this house? If you are open to it, try measuring your desk and chair space to see if the closet would be sufficient to do your sit down work, it still has windows so I don't think it would be that dark and you could take out the door and easily remove some of the built in shelving/rods in the closet. Then you will have a nice cosy spot for editing and hanging out with the cats. Love your videos, looking forward to more outfit inspo!
Love the gratitude you have of your new space. Very positive energy I’m getting!! I hope you feel so inspired and it aligns you to the content you create ❤️
I think the room came out amazing! I love the ghibli pieces you have❤!!! Less is def. More in my opinion but the colors u have going on ur desk corner is really nice
Great job! I can relate to cat hair on clothes. I've had cat hair on my clothes all my life. Once in a while, my husband takes something out of the closet and remarks that it's covered with cat hair. My response is 'what did you expect?' :)
everyone is already saying this in the comments but transparent film (you can get reflective kind so it has pretty shapes lol), i am sure you don't want to add curtains, but even white ones to add some dimension to the walls. i love the shelf you put in it's very you ,but it really does draw your eye to the floor, so maybe adding something higher on the wall for behind you would be good! love your space though, can't wait to watch your next video in the space!!
Some sheer decorative curtains might help with privacy so you still get light but don’t have to blur anything out! Then you can also open the curtains when not filming if you want :)
How about a much taller plant in that space by the window by your shoes? Not as likely to be focused on as pretty block coloured? Then that wall space isn’t as bare but it just a tall plant so is moveable! ❤
I take cat hair everyday for ever just for Salem 🥺 Love the room Alexa ❤ I think if you ever feel like adding a few more things to the wall, that would work too ❤
I love the set up! I personally think it would look So good if you actually hung the giant black mirror on the wall instead of leaning it from the ground!
Hey I’m wondering if you can please tell us about your mirror? It’s gorgeous and the biggest home mirror I’ve seen. Is it an antique? It’s so pretty and I love the corner details. Also I love your decor!
I’m not totally sure how to phrase this but do you have any tips for having your clothes not in your bedroom? I’m moving in with my boyfriend and some roommates and my current plan is that he takes the bedroom closet and I have the office room closet, since he won’t be using that office. I just can’t wrap my head around having my bras/underwear not in the bedroom OR having them away from my clothes. I also worry it might make planning outfits harder since I can’t change a million times if my roommate is in the office😅
Do you fully own your apartment or do you just get a fine when you decide to move out? Where I live most of the time you rent apartments and you can’t really do much to change the look of it that dramatically so I’m just curious!
@coolchameleon21 did someone say boring? It's great. Love seeing the growth and changes of this channel! Alexa puts so much thought in all the changes she makes. It's great!

I think your office looks amazing and beautiful!!! I love minimal and simplicity when it comes to decor! In my opinion your office looks perfect!

YES! Do it!
I was going to suggest exactly that as well xD
Especially in the closet (some clear UV block film) because your clothes will get sun bleached. I’ve learned the hard way! 😅
@@caytiedid770i hope Alexa sees your comment!
Or some lace curtains!
the pink checkered rug would look so cute in your office!
Agreed!
YES!
You could add white transparent linen curtains on the windows to maybe help you not have to blur the window out every video but still let light in. I thought about that too but having a rail that long might be difficult to get hold of?

(using my pal's YT acct)
Yeah, seeing all of her leather shoes in the sun makes me nervous
I had a lot of clothes get ruined this way
Sheer curtains might be helpful for the windows so you can keep the light, but avoid having to put the blur on the window
I was just about to say, I hope the window and reflection won't have to be blurred in every single video.
Cute space! Rechargeable puck lights would be great for the darkness on the shelving. I use a set to give my bookshelves custom lighting (without having to occupy another outlet). I put some peel and stick Velcro on the lights so I can easy remove them to charge and stick em back under the shelf

Such a lovely light and airy space! Don't worry about trying to get the decor perfect. That will evolve over time. I think your rug would look great!

2 windows in the closet!! You have really scored with this apartment (after much disheartening hunting I know!)
omg I loooove the vibes of this room, it feels open and airy but still has your style and personality in it!! hope it serves you great
Your Ghibli screen savers are to die for!
Congrats on your new space!! Love the sustainable decor ❤️ I would suggest to put things of different heights closer to the walls and some furniture in the middle so it creates a more dimensional space and not only “side” design. Love you!!!
The paint brightened up the room so much! The final room is simple yet functional and that's definitely needed for a filming/editing room! Great job!
I wish the white matched the trim and doors. Helps soften the eye
Such a big functional space! Be careful the light from those closet windows doesn't fade your stuff 😅
I think you should add the pink rug I like a little color and I don't think you should compromise you entirely for RUclips you know 🤷🤷 it's your living space do what makes you comfortable
I love it your style is call eclectic It just stuff you love and little by little it will be filled with the things that make you happy just love so happy for you 🪴🌼🌞

aww hi salem! i love the two kitty cat decorations on your office wall too 🐈 🐈⬛
OMG - that New Yorker poster is divine! Now I've got to get one. Thx!
The little nijntje (miffy) in your shoe is adorable omg
Love the joda clock ❤. I thrifted found a stormtrooper alarm clock. So cool we are into star wars stuff. Love the mirror Ball planter toi❤
It looks beautiful! I personally love the usual maximalist backgrounds of your videos, so personally I think it would look so cute with lots of artwork on the walls and the checkered rug. Yoda Lego clock is a NEED
I’m so excited for you to have a big closet for all your clothes and your office is so cool! Congratulations on the new apartment!!
I love the minimal look of this room! Shows your personality and style without being too overwhelming. I prefer when backgrounds aren’t too busy.
The swan light is awesome
This is so cute!! 💕 Window film could be a fun solution for not having to add blur in post
That closest. WOW! Congratulations on your new space. I am looking for a clothing rack and was wondering where you got yours? It looks sturdy.
Definitely need something on the wall next to the shelf. Everything on the ground just really pulls the eye down in a way that looks unfinished. Just my two cents. :)
The desk glows in sunshine, Alexa. This is the perfect desk for you. 😊
what about painting the doors!! green or pink to go with your checkered rug 🩷 some simple sheer floor length curtains tooo
I think on the door wall you can do head to toe curtains to make a backround thais textured.
Alexa! This is so beautiful! 🥹🫶 I do think that your pink checkered rug would tie it all together. I saw a couple comments saying they didn’t like the trim staying a cream/beige with the white walls, but I just want to say that I love the subtle contrast!
Love the swan lamp
Congratulations on your new space!
Hi! I would say your Pinterest board aligned with some post modern Gen Z stuff with the bright colors, acrylic, and ~curves~
Congrats on the new place! It looks beautiful 🌸 have you tried to put the long white lamp on top of the sofa table in the corner? I feel like she needs the moment 🫰🤌

The white paint is everything!
So nice to see you so happy with your new space after some earlier
places that stressed you out! Wonderful to have such an airy room.

I love the office setup! It feels very fresh and very you!
**Side note, I literally ordered the same Miffy plush keychain from Japan because of you. 😂
Good morning Alexa happy Sunday morning to you and I enjoy your channel and you are amazing supporter
Oh wow the paint helped brighten everything up and how you decorated looks amazing to me! Great job🩷💖

Love the gratitude you have of your new space. Very positive energy I’m getting!! I hope you feel so inspired and it aligns you to the content you create ❤️
I loveeeee the disco ball
i’m SHOOKETH that the apartment complex allowed you to paint !
They said as long as it’s not a darker color they won’t take it out of the deposit (guess we’ll see though when we move out 😅)
Most complexes don't care as long as you paint it back before turning it back over, also
So happy you found a nice place! Patience paid off. Looking forward for the next videos
I think the room came out amazing! I love the ghibli pieces you have❤!!! Less is def. More in my opinion but the colors u have going on ur desk corner is really nice
Windows in the closet?! Beautiful, you are so lucky to snag that place in this rental market 💚
I love it! It’s so you! You seem so much happier in your new space too 😊 I hope I can have an office like this one day!
Could you perhaps hang a plant above the cool lamp?
Great job! I can relate to cat hair on clothes. I've had cat hair on my clothes all my life. Once in a while, my husband takes something out of the closet and remarks that it's covered with cat hair. My response is 'what did you expect?' :)
I love it! It’s such a great space! Your swan light is my favorite! Also where do you get your artwork? I need some but don’t know where to look
everyone is already saying this in the comments but transparent film (you can get reflective kind so it has pretty shapes lol), i am sure you don't want to add curtains, but even white ones to add some dimension to the walls. i love the shelf you put in it's very you ,but it really does draw your eye to the floor, so maybe adding something higher on the wall for behind you would be good! love your space though, can't wait to watch your next video in the space!!
i love it, it's so realistic and chaotic😅
Alexa your office looks amazing!!! I love it! I recommend Branch furniture for a desk chair, i got mine from there and it’s sooo comfortable
Love everything 😍
Some sheer decorative curtains might help with privacy so you still get light but don’t have to blur anything out! Then you can also open the curtains when not filming if you want :)
How about a much taller plant in that space by the window by your shoes? Not as likely to be focused on as pretty block coloured? Then that wall space isn’t as bare but it just a tall plant so is moveable! ❤
So excited for you!
I take cat hair everyday for ever just for Salem 🥺
Love the room Alexa ❤ I think if you ever feel like adding a few more things to the wall, that would work too ❤
Lovely new office! I think it needs a little more, not sure what though. Sheer curtains would help with privacy too 😁
LOVE Ljangfall ikea desk chairs.
Never been this early for Alexa's video! Jackpot!
cool to see diff content like this. ooh reno
i’m so early wow!! congrats on your move! i can’t wait to see what else you do with your new place 😊
I am excited for you in new office Alexa sunshine 83 happy sunday
Happy day. Alexa!! Thank you for sharing !!
Love it!
Where did you order the cats that are above your desk? LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM 😍😍
Coming back to this vid for when I get a house 😅

Where did you get the wavy shelves thing😍😍😍
I love it (:
10:38 background looking more grown up! Looking forward to more content from here!
why does “grown up” equal boring? that’s lame
@coolchameleon21 did someone say boring? It's great. Love seeing the growth and changes of this channel! Alexa puts so much thought in all the changes she makes. It's great!
