Hardknott Fort

"The Lakes" is a short collection of pieces representing various locations in the English Lake District. Instrumentation is varied, from small chamber to full orchestra.
Hardknott Fort is a ruined Roman fort on the Hardknott Pass overlooking the Esk valley. It has largely disappeared but the ground plan is complete. The setting is one of sombre deserted beauty, but also a reminder of the military might that once occupied it
