      I think its a camera thing, its better to have space where the cameraman can manuvre around a lot, and any other space in the house would be too restrictive. also kids. I doubt the kids bother linus when they are filming in the garage, since the garage isn't the play-den, living room, kitchen, bedroom, or computer room, or theatre room.

    Side notes: Dual BIOS options rarely have big effects out-of-the-box. They're mostly presented this way just to provide a pro forma "legitimate" justification to AMD/Nvidia, for deviating from the reference design by adding "dual purpose" on-substrate _hardware_ features. Sold as toggles between low noise and max performance modes. But in practice are explicitly meant to accommodate hard core overclocking, by providing one or more additional discrete bios chips, to serve as safety fallbacks in case a hacked or modified vbios fails to flash properly or won't post. It's a warranty claim, who's liable, plausible deniability thing.
    As to the "only 2" DisplayPort (2.1) ports. DisplayPort supports _daisychaining_ of multiple displayport compatible displays. And with 2.1, you can daisychain up to 3x high refresh 4k HDR displas, off a single port from the gpu. Also Radeon does not limit their "ordinary" gpus to max 4 displays like Nvidia's GeForce does.

    • @seeibe

      I'd still prefer having the option of 3 DP outputs to be honest. I guess I'm in the minority with 3 cheap monitors for work, and 1 HDMI TV for gaming, being hooked up to the same PC, but then at over $1000 there's really no excuse not to support it.

    • @pr0xZen
      @pr0xZen Год назад +7

      @@seeibe You are indeed a minority.
      In general though, there _are_ DisplayPort _hubs_ available, enabling running multiple DP (and HDMI) monitors that do not have their own DP output - off a single DP port from a gpu. Technically speaking it operates as daisychaining does, without needing the monitors to support daisychaining. Wiring wise, it's closer to hooking the monitors up "the traditional" way. There is another bonus though: if your PC is further away from the monitors/displays - as with "proper" daisychaining, only the sigle "master" cable from the GPU to the DP hub (or first monitor in daisychain), needs be that long - the rest only need to reach from the display to the hub (/previous monitor in chain). Long DisplayPort cables are quite expensive, especially high bandwidth ones, and you do need those for the master link (and the first 1 or 2 in proper daisychain). Because it needs to have the bandwidth to carry the signal of all the monitors that follow, in that chain. Using a DP hub, only the cable from the GPU to the hub needs that max bandwidth.

All the games I could barely run with my previous card now I can max settings in 1440p or even 4k.
      The main thing was, it didn't require a new power supply. If I had wanted to spend 200 more for a 6800xt I also would have had to upgrade the PSU. I had intended the 6700xt to be a placeholder until a good 7000 series refresh card came out. But now after using it for months it seems like the perfect card for my current system.
