I bought a used 2017 gt premium with 18k miles that sat on a dealers lot for 4 years . The dealer had gone out of business from COVID so I knew two things. The car didn’t get too much hard use, but it was going to take some work. I talked them down to $22k. I replaced the AC condenser, the seals rotted. Replaced the exhaust system, it got banged up being dragged from the lot. Flushed the transmission and fuel system, replaced the spark plugs, a few coolant hoses, all the filters and brakes, rotors and calipers and had all the recalls handled. Doing some of the work myself, I had 28k invested overall but instead of OEM parts I’m using BMR, Borla, mishimoto and Baer. It runs better than new, but I agree, you should have some mechanical ability before getting into a used muscle car
Hello i had a 2016 Ecoboost (EcoTragic) Mustang...tried the "Economy".... it was the only performance car in lot. I asked Ford how long before a White V8 Handling Pack can be Spec. They said 6 months. I couldn't wait that long. Therefore, not knowing anything about Turbos, i babied it for 3.5 years and the Turbo locked up... choking engine. No boost code, and investated why... it takes stepping on the accelerator Pedal to so high exhaust can spool impellers in the Turbo. Premium was supposed to be used instead of the regular, that Manual recommends. 6 months later there's an Over Boost Code, which said low compression on cylinder 3. ( at 39,000 miles)..took it to the Dealership and it was there for new engine for 2 months. 1.5 years later the at 59,869 miles the same happens. 2 months they said, and warranty covers rental for 1 month the 1st time, and the 2nd time it doesn't cover any month. Ecoboost & the EcoTexh from GM is the same. Reasons they are the worst design and thank Ford engineer who got out of College and know nothing cars. I worked in Aerospace then for a while worked a Medical Devices and engineer didn't know to jump start a battery on a regular gas powered car always needed my help. I knew this stuff before internet lol Therefore no RUclips back then. I replaced a fuel pump in my dad's F150 at age 12... he didn't know how knew i was mechanically inclined. lol with out a service manual... anyway i found out Turbos get to be 1,875° Fahrenheit or 1,020°Celcius They're mount an 1/8 inch from the all no aluminum engine block, without a Heat Shield or Insulation blanket. When i took the Ecoboost, while it was in for repair, was already looking for 3 weeks for a White V8 GT350 or a Mach1 Handling Pack in White with the 3rd Pedal 6 Speed Manual Transmission. IN August 9, 2022 after 3 days with the rental, ( $110 / night x 60 days = $6,600 better to use this as the down payment.) I Bought the only White V8 Mustang with the 3rd Pedal 6 Speed Manual Transmission in all of the State of California. Only one in this combination it is a 2022 Roush Mustang with Rev-Match Tremec 6 Speed Manual Transmission Magneride Suspension, Intercooled Limited Slip Torsen Rear Differential V8 is the only way to live never buying the Following Scams Turbos or Electric Vehicle's (EV's) 👦👍🏎🏁🚩
I've had my 2018 GT PP1 since brand new. Haven't had ANY engi e or transmission problems. It's been solid, I had a problem with my driver's side mirror popped off during a car wash where I accidentally hit it with my elbow and got it replaced by the dealer. However, even after it came back it still had iddues where it would pop out. I managed to get to sit well now, so we'll see. The only other issue I had was my driver's side A-pillar was leaking and turned out it was some little hole they left open fro. The factory, it was a defect. They fixed it u der warranty and like I said, it has been solid other than these 2 issues, which didn't cost me anything. I will say I hated the stock suspension. Even for a performance pack, it sucked. Coming from a BMW, it handled terrible. I have fixed it though, but that has been pricey. I've done everything from BMR & Steeda suspension parts cause those OEM bushings are way too soft. It's no wonder it gets a bad rep of it crashing into crowds. I REFUSE to trade it in for an S650. The S650 is not worth it imo. It's basically the same car with a few upgrades i.e. interior but essentially same engine, transmission suspension including the crappy soft bushings. I have heard they put a bit better bushings now though so that's a plus. The steering feels feels a little less numb, but whatever, my car is paid off now so not trying to go S650.
Thanks for your very honest feedback...this was a great educational video on the Mustang! I just purchased a 2022 GT after watching your video and it saved me over $4k after using your various recommended sites and research.
Massive congrats my friend and I'm so glad this content was able to save you a substantial amount of money on your purchase. Enjoy your incredible new vehicle!
Thank you for your time on this video. Seriously i love my Fords Alot, a truck F150 and of course my 2016 GT /CS Premium Tastefully Moded. I wouldn't trade my Mustang for any other car, i absolutely love it to death, i praise Ford 👍 🙌 🇺🇸 👏 👌 💪 👀 🇺🇸 🔥...
You are right about the “numb feeling” the Mustang has. Deny this at your own risk. I haven’t driven the newest S660 Mustang, but the S550 lacks the road connection that other sports cars have out of the box. Maybe the engineers wanted to bake in a more muscle car driving feel.
I got a 21 convertible 3 days ago with a bumper to bumper warranty for5 years 60k miles. I like it so far. I know when i put it out to pasture, I might get another one.
What was the pricing for your bumper to bumper@ 60k miles? I got the 3 gears plus one free year @ 100k miles bumper to bumper warranty with the $250 deductible. Buying sucker bet as I'm the second owner with 15k miles on the car.

In my country Indonesia S550 GT cost about 2x more expensive than Ecoboost Used 15-17 GT is around $185,000 and uses 15-17 Ecoboost starts around $98,500 We also pay annual road tax and GT annual road tax is 3x more than Ecoboost around $3,200 So is GT worth the money? Or just go for Ecoboost for the fraction of the cost?
What other v8 are available that are comparable? The ecoboost isn’t bad at all…nobody wants it in America but that is because the v8 exists and even in America a used eco boost is nearly half the cost of gt. If the ecoboost was dropped in another rwd, platform same everything bet less people would complain…
@@mostwantedmotor Because of luxury sales tax imposed on big engine... The cheapest option, including annual road tax and maintenance cost, is only 2015-2017 Mustang GT. Hmm. It s so hard to tell. I want to buy a Mustang 2.3 2017 model. Some reviews says the cars are very good. Only people modify the engines. However, others are more negative. Saying the engine isn t really well built from Ford. My mechanic is a bit skeptical. If something goes wrong with the engine it s expensive to repair. I already got a BMW z4. Old classic 2004 model. In which has been an excellent car. I wish to make sure the next car is also reliable. But, I m really confused. If the Mustangs 2.3 is is good or not. I mean with original engine. I don t need any modifications.
Probably an unpopular opinion but I think anything more than the 4 cylinder is a waste.. 300 hp is way more than enough for street driving but idk man. How much power do you need when most roads are less than 50 miles per hour?
Taking what one guy says on youtube vs all the consumer index data that says otherwise. But you do you. The s550 is an awesome car. Haven't talked to a single person thats owned one thats said otherwise. And you cant beat modding a coyote. Strongest N/A engine for modding. Still holds the record for most HP.

Take caution in buying anything Ford now a days. Bronco had over 700,000 engine failures at only 1,000 to 3,000 miles !!! 😮
It’s wasn’t 700,000 failures, the 2.7 is terrible and they investigated all of them, Just don’t get the 2.7. 2.3 is honestly the best of the bunch.
I agree on the quality. Fit, finish, and paint is shit. But I baught a base V8, so it goes fast and makes noise.
