Is it possible to walk into my local pharmacy and ask for work experience or will that not interest dental courses?
Yes you can, any type of volunteering/work is good to have to strengthen your application.

Hi, I was wondering if fluency in a language and an interest in pursuing to learn other languages counts as an extracurricular?
My dad is a doctor and often comes across patients to have trouble speaking English, these patients obviously won’t be able to get the adequate care they need without being able to communicate, he is fluent in several languages and uses them to communicate to these patients.
I’m fluent in in English and Farsi, also beginners level Arabic, I’ve also learned the Korean alphabet and learned how to read and write in Korean (but I’m absolutely not fluent in this)
I was wondering whether or not this would be a good skill to include in my personal statement and relate it to dentistry😶
Yes ofc it is good to be multilingual- usually if you’re fluent in your home languages it is not as stand out (as a lot of people are bilingual /trilingual from this) - however if you embark on learning a NEW language (like Korean!) and get some sort of qualification for it , it can be more impressive for the uni!
But remember - this is a v v v v v small part of your application so don’t bank on it too much!

Tbh you can read any books you want - I read the smile stealers , some atul gawande books are interesting too !
