How about some early Lisa Eldridge? I still use the Bourjois healthy mix in 52 and the Becca shimmering skin perfector. And remember E.L.F.? She used their products all the time back in 2009/10.
It was a better time. Companies were not so frantic to release a hundred products a month and classic stayed iconic for a while. It’s overwhelming now. You barely own an eyeshadow palette for 2 months before a new one trumps it.
Full of Grace Exactly, it seems that everyone is comparing who owns more makeup and people buy new pallet before the last one gets used for 3 times. I truest love and adore makeup, but would also appreciate the frantic to tone down, just a bit.
Yeaaah me too and I actually stopped the video when she pulled out the old MAC shadows and I tried guessing the names and still got a lot of them right 😂 too bad I can't remember other things in my life as well as I can remember MAC eyeshadow names, duh
This video made me so happy! I too have been watching more classic beauty RUclips videos from back in the day, I just find it much different from what is now. I remember face and body foundation from MAC and omega eyeshadow being used for brows quite a bit.
hate that you don't upload often, but every time you upload a video you just shock me by how original and fun and unique your makeup look/idea is, it just screams QUALITY! after all these years you are still my fav youtuber!!
Oh my good, I totally forgot about it. And it's still so good! But we're drowning in highlighters right now, I should know, I have enough for 3 lifetimes.
This vid made me so nostalgic for when i first started watching makeup videos on RUclips. I barely watch any of my OG peeps any more (except you and Sharon) because they've kind of become caricatures of themselves or gone the privileged/unrelateable/lifestyle route. But, this was a sweet trip down memory lane!
I work at Sephora and the Smashbox Primer is still so popular! Clients come in and repurchase year after year and they are not interested in looking at anything else. :) The Laguna bronzer you have is the new "Sandwash" finish which is lighter and more luminous than the original, which is still extremely popular too! What a fun video. Thanks for the throwback.
This made me so happy. All of these products were so popular back when I was just first getting into makeup. I remember how much I pined over Mac products and the Naked palette when I was in college and couldn't afford them. A few more cult classics from then - Mary-Lou Manizer, Benefit Dandelion, Mac Soft and Gentle, and SO MANY NUDE LIPSTICKS. Nude lipsticks back then are what highlighters are now. Crazy.
Girl, I literally busted out my Naked 1 two days ago and as soon as I opened it I said (to the palette) "Why the hell does no one talk about you anymore? You're gorgeous!" And I totally used my Nars Orgasm blush. It just felt right. Been in a MAC mood lately. Some mac rediscovery videos might just be in order... Great video as always! Really fun to watch!
Loved this video! I remember when everyone was obsessed with Dior amber diamond, Collection 2000 concealer, Sephora x opi metro chic nail polish and Nars Turkish delight!
Omg I got mine the Urban Decay palette around 2011 and I still have it on my collection whenever I see it. omg that nostalgic feeling, I just keep it because it was my first high end eyeshadow palette.
Two categories that you didn't mention were contour (nyx eyeshadow in Taupe of coursee) and setting spray which besides UD all nighter I would say Skindinivia had suuch a following (Shaaanxo comes to mind). Great video your creativity is amazing!
I wish more gurus would do this! I'm so over all these new collections coming out back to back, I don't want to buy any of them. I want to just shop my collection and come up with new looks.
This video was so interesting Karima :) But it also made me feel quite... sad? How many companies come out with new products almost every month now? These products are so iconic and CLASSIC! A lot of makeup artists still use them, and since they perform great, they don't feel the need to buy 300000 new products just because it's a new trend. RUclips is a beautiful place, but sometimes it just makes you feel like you have to own all of the latest releases to be able to do your own makeup! Thank you for sharing this... and also for including old clips! haha
OMG cant believe that I have been watching beauty gurus for 10 years now. Every products you used, I knew it all. Thank you for making this awesome video. It's so good to look back. I feel so nostalgic now !!
ok SO for many watching this vid, these products are simply reminiscent of when they were in college using makeup a lot, which is nostalgic enough, but i'm pretty young, so all of these products remind me of my nine year old self watching pretty older girls on youtube using makeup and dreaming of the day i could afford to buy something myself. i'm in my senior year of high school now and everything i know about makeup i owe to these videos i've watched since elementary school - yours included, karima!
Such nostalgia. I loved this video and still use the Porefessional , MAC Paint Pot, the Mac concealer and MAC blushes and eye shadows.....among the 1000 other eye shadows that since then I "had to have". The story of how I acquired the Chanel Bronze Universal (?) is long but when I got it I was so underwhelmed. Of course it had everything to do with the fact that I am a MAC NC43 ish and it was obviously too light for me! It never occurred to me that the Pixiwoo sisters are fair so the colours would look completely different....I wanted everything they used. Thanks for this video, made me very very happy. Reminds me of a simpler time if you will. XXX
Commenting again to say: Karima videos are an antidote to all the crazy drama going around at the moment. A refreshing cup of tea after a draining day. Always keeping it classy xx
Wow it's like I went back in time! I still watch a lot of those RUclipsrs til this day. I also still use some of the products mentioned. I try new things all the time, but I'm a minimalist and like to stick with mainly what I know I love.
Oh the nostalgia! I've noticed there's a bit of a thing for old youtube famous products going around at the moment, lots of videos on past favourites, old online orders and discontinued products and I'm loving it.
This was the most enjoyable video, Karima! This takes me back! All these oldies are still such fun and it's really amazing to seeing how makeup trends evolved over time. Also super eye opening is the quality evolution from hobby video makers to very professional now. It's a different world! Thanks for this video!!
Funny because I fell into a Karima rabbit hole and started watching all your older videos. But also, with how much research I’ve been doing in law school, I loved how you cited your sources with all the clips haha!
Omg all of those Mac shadows names just gave me chills. I still use and will always use makeup geek. Marlena’s love for good quality makeup is what makes me always go back to her amazing products. When ever she launches her new shadows I jump immediately.
Omg I remember watching Kandee Johnson and pixiwoo right at the beginning of RUclips beauty “gurus” and it was after a bad break up and I’d sit in bed watching them. Back then there weren’t as many videos so I would always look forward to a new upload and get what I could. Thank you so much for doing this video Karima. ❤️❤️❤️ these OG girls got me into makeup and motivated me to get better. So grateful. I miss those days so much!
Oh my god this video made me so nostalgic remembering all these products and people and the way tutorials used to be. When you said "use it all over your lid to make your eyeshadow really pop" about the jumbo pencil I could've literally said it with you. I remember another cult favorite was the Revlon Stay Matte pressed powder.
I'm so happy that I found this video! It made me feel so nostalgic and happy to watch it and remember the good old days when makeup was all about, well, makeup, not drama and pettiness like it is today. Thank you for this video, I really enjoyed it!
Omg this was amazing. I also remember Benefit's Dandelion and other box blushes. Lots and lots and lots of MAC, Dior, and Chanel. Now, there's so many brands with new products every week it's insane.
OMG Totally looove this video!!! It bring back so many memories of when I started watching youtube. Love your videos Karima and the fact that you keep bringing new content without losing the old youtube vibes and falling on trends, I really appreciate it. Big thumbs up!
Great video! I was smiling all the way through 😊 The only products I would have included that you didn't mention are the Hoola bronzer, the Mary Lou Manizer and the Too Faced Shadow Insurance 😉
Oh the nostalgia! I would binge watch makeup tutorials around 2009 and now I’m only subscribed to a handful of beauty youtubers. Haha obviously you included, Karima. As far as products you didn’t mention, Soft and gentle mineralised skin finish is THE highlight that sticks out in my mind. I didn’t own a single highlighter at the time and that is the one I wanted. Never did end up forking out the dollars though. 😂
The old RUclips was so real, only a girl and her love for make up, no fancy video equipment or special set up, It was so reliable to my reality.... Is cool that you revived those memories and so much products that I still loved.
I really enjoyed seeing your enthusiasm for RUclips, youtubers and the products that you used to love. Your obvious excitement for the topic made me smile. This was a unique video idea, and I really liked the added touch of the old clips. I also liked the Samantha Ravndahl shout out haha.
This makes me so happy! I only got into makeup in 2010 and everything I know about makeup I learnt from RUclips. Makes me kind of miss the old days when it was all about cult classic products instead of just the latest limited edition releases but it's also so ironic that UD just annouced that the Naked palette is being discontinued.. talk about the end of an era!
omg this is sooooo accurate! Every time I was like: YEEEES OMGGGG. And the editing is amazing. The soleil tan, ardell demi wispies, mac lipsticks and luminoso are still part of my holy grails. I loooooved this video
wow this really took me back. i've loved makeup ever since i was little, however i only started making enough money to buy any in late 2014, right around when makeup tutorials blew up. it's crazy to me how much i've collected since then! the naked 2 palette was the first high-end product i ever owned, after my dad got me an ulta gift card. so much nostalgia!
This video for some reason just makes me so happy. I’ve been an avid RUclips beauty video watcher for 3 yrs. ( I’m talking about devoting 90% of my screen time to beauty videos) I’m 21 this year, been wearing makeup for 3 years and basically learned all thing beauty related from RUclips ( kathleenlights and such) Being a Chinese living in Asia , my western makeup style really set my mom off at first. And with time going by, I discovered that certain products and certain makeup techniques are just not for everyone, and I simply do not have a crease lol 😂 Anyways, love your channels Karima. And I see your love and passion for makeup through all your videos. ❤️
This video made me so happy! Personally, I vividly remember everyone and their mother using the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks and Rimmel Stay Matte powder!!
I remember I was 15 when the naked palette launched. Everybody wanted it. One of my friends had it and we were all swatching it in geometry class. That was my first taste of makeup palettes
I remember watching Marlena's tutorials in my dorm room during my freshmen year of college in 2007-2008! That is how I fell in LOVE with makeup and started learning better techniques. Love this video.
Omg Karima! I was only listening to your video (I was at work). As you mentioned the name of each eyeshadow in the palette and your MAC collection, I could actually recall immediately what colours/shades they were. They were truly classic!
KARIMA, at the very beginning of the video I INSTANTLY KNEW which shadow you are wearing on your lid. There could only be one that shines like that and that changes like that, Wet n Wild's The Comfort Zone! I too remember all of these cult classics and I too have some of those still. THX for this wonderful video!! It was PERFECT!
What a lovely video! I remember Gosh Darling , a beige lipstick, being trendy. The first beauty youtuber I remember in the UK was Lauren Luke, she was so much fun! And this was a blog era thing but Mac Lightscapades was soooo popular! And many Bourjois products. And that video by Lisa Eldrige showing younger people how to use lipstick because there was a generation of women that only knew lipgloss and lipstick was just not used at all!
This is so good!! I turned 12 in 2008 and this was like a look at my teen years in makeup. I forgot how much of a fad the beauty blender seemed at first... I was so wrong. This has got to be one of my favourite beauty videos in a while
This was much fun to watch, really took me back in time! I remember those videos/products, that's when I also got into make up, and like for so many others, the UD Naked palette was my first one. I still use it occasionally, you are right, it is still a good palette!
I remember so much of this! I quite literally grew up in the makeup community - when makeup youtube started picking up steam (2007/08) i was 12 years old!
This is such a fun video to watch! Yes, I was super impressed with your ability to memorize all those Mac eye shadow names. But I'm also impressed with myself that I know everything you mentioned. Lol Your captivating personality continues to shine through. I do give praises to your makeup application skills, but it is you that I came to watch. I wish you can utilize this strength of yours to propel your career into the next level. All the best to you.
This is the best makeup video. Literally so nostalgic. I remember when the kylie jenner makeup was a huge hit now its the bronze natural glow makeup. I remember when itsa10 was huge. Ugh i love
THIS FELT LIKE A HUG. TO MY HEART.
How about some early Lisa Eldridge? I still use the Bourjois healthy mix in 52 and the Becca shimmering skin perfector. And remember E.L.F.? She used their products all the time back in 2009/10.

Poor Sam and all of her discontinued products 😂
I still remember the "I alread did one eye" intro... Thank you for making me laugh.
Yes! I forgot about that! :)
Did anyone else make this into a game? Every time she'd announce a new product type, I'd guess which one it would be. So much nostalgia!
me! hahaha it was a treat to remember these amazing stuff that still work wonders to date
Yeaaah me too and I actually stopped the video when she pulled out the old MAC shadows and I tried guessing the names and still got a lot of them right 😂 too bad I can't remember other things in my life as well as I can remember MAC eyeshadow names, duh
I wanted to shout "ITS KITTEN" when she was talking about having a single shade in a palette 😂
haha YES!! when she pulled out the primer potion i was like NOO what about painterly paint pot??? but she did not disappoint. haha
Oh the timing on this... so sad that they announced today that the Urban Decay Naked palette is being discontinued!
I was so sad to see that announcement in my ULTA email this morning :( I love Naked 1. It has been a staple in my collection since it first came out.
This video made me so happy! I too have been watching more classic beauty RUclips videos from back in the day, I just find it much different from what is now. I remember face and body foundation from MAC and omega eyeshadow being used for brows quite a bit.

Shout out to the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks and the Corrector in Light Bisque. What a throwback :D thanks karima
Omg, yesss! I completely forgot about those products!
That Sam shout out though...
This video was so well made!! Girl your chanel just can't be compared!
Love this! I remember Mac Soft and Gentle, MAC Angel + Nars Turkish Delight because Kim Kardashian lol, and the Benefit boxed blushes - ooh and Hoola!
The Mary-Lou Manizer by theBalm 😊 i loved this Video, so so entertaining ❤️
Yes !
Oh my good, I totally forgot about it. And it's still so good! But we're drowning in highlighters right now, I should know, I have enough for 3 lifetimes.

I feel like all British youtubers used the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer at one point.
Iris Madeleine this is correct
That and Rimmel Wake Me Up!
Sooo true. And the Rimmel matte powder.
I still use it! It’s so good!
Great reminder of how much expired makeup I still have. 😳
No kidding....I got rid of my NYX pencils a little while ago with my naked palette. Both over 8 yrs old 😳
Girl, I literally busted out my Naked 1 two days ago and as soon as I opened it I said (to the palette) "Why the hell does no one talk about you anymore? You're gorgeous!" And I totally used my Nars Orgasm blush. It just felt right. Been in a MAC mood lately. Some mac rediscovery videos might just be in order... Great video as always! Really fun to watch!
I always think the same when I play with mine. Smog is still my HG smokey neutral shade.
Loved this video! I remember when everyone was obsessed with Dior amber diamond, Collection 2000 concealer, Sephora x opi metro chic nail polish and Nars Turkish delight!
Loved this video! Who remembers Dior Amber Diamond, was it called that? Mac soft and gentle, mac venomous villains collection... all the memories! Xx
'no sam, you can't have it, it belongs to me' I DIED
Omg I got mine the Urban Decay palette around 2011 and I still have it on my collection whenever I see it. omg that nostalgic feeling, I just keep it because it was my first high end eyeshadow palette.
I was 15 when all those products were famous. You actually made me feel very nostalgic haha
Omg that old school Sharon video! I love that you made this
Raquel Joann her accent ! 😍😍
Sarah Kelshaw It was sooo strong back then!
Other iconic products were the BH 88 and 120 colour palettes, and the Eco Tools Brushes! Thankyou for making this video, so nice to go back
The Mac Prolongwear concealer is still a staple on my kit. ☺️
Oh wow... the Naked Palette 2010 reference definitely made me feel old. Vintage.
This video is like a warm cup of tea for my makeup loving heart
Two categories that you didn't mention were contour (nyx eyeshadow in Taupe of coursee) and setting spray which besides UD all nighter I would say Skindinivia had suuch a following (Shaaanxo comes to mind). Great video your creativity is amazing!
I wish more gurus would do this! I'm so over all these new collections coming out back to back, I don't want to buy any of them. I want to just shop my collection and come up with new looks.
I love that you put in the clips from the old videos! Such an amazing video, like always

Original Naked is now being discontinued .
I feel your passion for makeup and it inspires me and oh. i love you.
Amazing video! The Mac eyeshadow roll call gave me chills lol! Dusting them off tonight. 😉👌
This video was so fun. I’m 23 and have been watching RUclips since 2006, it has taught me SO much. Really enjoyed these throwbacks.
Such nostalgia. I loved this video and still use the Porefessional , MAC Paint Pot, the Mac concealer and MAC blushes and eye shadows.....among the 1000 other eye shadows that since then I "had to have".

I love this video!! so nostalgic! I love all the video clips in between, it takes me back to the good ol' days!
Commenting again to say: Karima videos are an antidote to all the crazy drama going around at the moment. A refreshing cup of tea after a draining day. Always keeping it classy xx
You have been and will remain one of my favorite youtubers! You create unique and thoughtful videos! Authenticity simply cannot be beat.
Love this! I’ll have to revisit a few early faves too. It’s so weird that UD is discontinuing the Naked 1. It’s an end of an era!
Wow it's like I went back in time! I still watch a lot of those RUclipsrs til this day. I also still use some of the products mentioned. I try new things all the time, but I'm a minimalist and like to stick with mainly what I know I love.
Dang. This video aged me. I've been watching youtube since 2009. I've seen youtube trends come and go.
Omg I felt exactly the same o.O
Same for me, too..!
Omg sameee!
Oh my gosh, this was the greatest idea Karima! My heart loved seeing all those old clips and I love seeing you use the classics!
Aw Karima, I have missed you! I laughed out loud at the "No Sam you can't have it" comment :D You're the best! Keep blessing us with your presence :-*
Nothing is more nostalgic than MAC 190 brush... everyone used that for foundation and Chanel tan universal. Wow... I'm old
Omg I remember watching Kandee Johnson and pixiwoo right at the beginning of RUclips beauty “gurus” and it was after a bad break up and I’d sit in bed watching them. Back then there weren’t as many videos so I would always look forward to a new upload and get what I could. Thank you so much for doing this video Karima. ❤️❤️❤️ these OG girls got me into makeup and motivated me to get better. So grateful. I miss those days so much!

You made me wanna binge on old videos too! Luv u so much, Karima. I wish you posted more often!

I love this so freaking much. Your passion and nerdiness towards makeup is infectious
My gawwwd ALBATROSS. I finished an entire pan of it. I was a lemony flash for almost 2 years!
The old RUclips was so real, only a girl and her love for make up, no fancy video equipment or special set up, It was so reliable to my reality....
Is cool that you revived those memories and so much products that I still loved.
I enjoyed watching this video as it made me feel nostalgic and happy!! Please upload videos more frequently we missed you Karima!⚘❤
Aw I miss that Jaclyn! She looked so pretty in that video, her makeup has always been flawless.
I loved reminiscing about these products, great video!
I really enjoyed seeing your enthusiasm for RUclips, youtubers and the products that you used to love. Your obvious excitement for the topic made me smile. This was a unique video idea, and I really liked the added touch of the old clips. I also liked the Samantha Ravndahl shout out haha.
I still use the mac prolongwear today! Never found a better one. Loved this walk down memory lane, thank u karima!
OMG Sharon at 2:25. I need to go back and re-watch all of her old tutorials.
This makes me so happy!
I only got into makeup in 2010 and everything I know about makeup I learnt from RUclips. this was amazing, to revisit the old make up tutorial. well done! please do something like this again! perhaps revisit each year and key new launches?
omg this is sooooo accurate! Every time I was like: YEEEES OMGGGG. And the editing is amazing. The soleil tan, ardell demi wispies, mac lipsticks and luminoso are still part of my holy grails. I loooooved this video
Oh gosh, I have Naked 2 somewhere. Need to unearth and try some looks with it!
this is probably the best video I've seen in YEARS! Well done Karima this is what we wanted
wow this really took me back. i've loved makeup ever since i was little, however i only started making enough money to buy any in late 2014, right around when makeup tutorials blew up. it's crazy to me how much i've collected since then! the naked 2 palette was the first high-end product i ever owned, after my dad got me an ulta gift card. so much nostalgia!

I remember I was 15 when the naked palette launched. Everybody wanted it. One of my friends had it and we were all swatching it in geometry class. That was my first taste of makeup palettes
What a fun trip down memory lane.
I remember watching Marlena's tutorials in my dorm room during my freshmen year of college in 2007-2008! That is how I fell in LOVE with makeup and started learning better techniques. Love this video.
Such a great video!!!! I think Dior amber diamond was also a cult highlighter back in the days.
Omg Karima! I was only listening to your video (I was at work). As you mentioned the name of each eyeshadow in the palette and your MAC collection, I could actually recall immediately what colours/shades they were. They were truly classic!
Such nostalgia! Loved this video Karima! So going to go through my collection and pull out some of these oldies but goodies.

this video gave me ALL THE FEELS. OOOH, the good ol' days of beauty on youtube.
I LOVE this video! And what perfect timing to walk down memory lane to when youtube was about makeup. I still have and use a lot of these 💖
I love this video. So fun to take a trip down makeup memory lane. I must bust out my Chanel Soliel Tan de Chanel Bronzer.
What a lovely video! I remember Gosh Darling , a beige lipstick, being trendy. The first beauty youtuber I remember in the UK was Lauren Luke, she was so much fun! And this was a blog era thing but Mac Lightscapades was soooo popular! And many Bourjois products.
Such a great concept!!!! I remembered all those!!!
Brilliant video! It’s great to see how the products held up over time! And a gorgeous look!
