Joe & Mac, also known as Caveman Ninja and Caveman Ninja: Joe & Mac, is a run and gun platform game released as an arcade video game by Data East in 1991. It was adapted for the Super NES, Mega Drive/Genesis, Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy, Amiga, Zeebo, Nintendo Switch, and IBM PC compatibles.

Dude, you killed it! Joe and Mac was originally made for arcades, so it was a classic quarter muncher. This game is no joke, you played it really well, kudos!

You have to open the red eggs with no enemies on the screen to get to bonus areas to get keys
Some eggs if you hit them from far away will become bonus levels
If you attack the egg close, that egg that was going to be a bonus level just becomes an item
You have to kill all people on screen and sit there for a second and if u hit it u get the pink one. Oh ya its the red eggs that give ya bonus levels.... I played this too much lol
@@petermuir7861both of these are perfect examples of why I love old video game nonsense. Made reading manuals totally justified
On level 2 the water spouts count as an enemy and needs to be despawned before breaking egg to get the bonus.
I keep saying “the wheel is strongest” but for some reason he cannot hear me. lol.

Getting more of the same power up is a multiplier. Notice sometimes you can throw 3 wheels back to back but sometimes only 2
DUUUDEEE YOU DID IT!! I’ never thought you would. I asked for it a long time ago and am suprised that others are too!. Yesss thank you bro love ya. This is the best of the Joe and Mac games imo. My dad and I could never beat it but I came back later and did a few times.

This game really shines on 2-player Mode, there are some amazing interactions when playing with your buddy.

$70+ for Japan imports. $60 for bigger name games. $40ish was for more lesser known titles.

Earthworm Jim and Kid Chameleon are going to be my recommendation every video btw. Groovy! Edit: Darkstone for PS1 is an awesome diablo type game
we all have good memories of Earthworm Jim as kids as it was like playing a videogame equivalent of Cow & Chicken or Ren and Stimpy, but it sadly does not hold up.

He's already played Earthworm Jim. I have nostalgia for Kid Chameleon but let's not kid ourselves, the game aged unbelievably poorly lol. There's still a kind of novelty about it though being kind of a Sega version of Mario.

Nostalgia explosion in my brain. I totally forgot this game existed. I used to play it with my Mom when I was a kid. I love this game. It’s funny because you said it reminds you of Adventure Island which is another game my Mom loved and it always reminded me of it as well.
Played this in the Arcades, where it was known as Caveman Ninja. Never got around to the home console versions

Rayman 1, I'm telling ya. Gorgeous, fun, difficult. The perfect Ryu game.

@@jwatsey1478 Hahaha yeah I was furious at some parts, especially the level where you have to jump across inner tubes and fish. Man is that level frustratingly difficult.

This was supposed to be a 2 player game that is why it would be much easier and quicker to wear down the bosses. Used to play this game with my younger brother or cousins after school. Makes it super tough with just 1 player.

Got to try Bionic Commando on the NES. I remember it being a fun but very challenging game.
RECOMMENDATION: The Chaos Engine (AKA Soldiers of Fortune on SNES)
Underrated gem in my opinion and VERY difficult towards the end. I think it could make for a great video.
As a kid my top 5 most played SNES games were Zelda: ALTTP, Super Mario World, Castlevania 4, Super Ghouls N Ghosts and Joe & Mac lol, I love this game, such good memories playing it with my siblings in much happier times.

You should play Deja Vu or Shadow Gate.
Pocky and Rocky, Legend of the Mystical Ninja, and Hagane are the three I had the most fun with on the SNES outside the big name franchises
One of my all time favorite snes games. I've had it since I was a kid and go back to it quite a bit. I'll never forget the first time I beat the demon just for him to have a 2nd stage.
I played this game one week as a rental before my mom rented Final Fantasy "II" (IV). As an 11 year old, and having played Mario World and this game which both had map screens, I thought FF4's map screen was going to take me to a side-scrolling level... it took me to a random battle and I thought it was a level but they stood there! RPG's weren't big for USA children. Fortunately I grew into it and it became one of my defining traits by the next year.

I remember my mom taking me and a friend on vacation to Las Vegas when I was about 9 years old. It rained the entire time and so we rented this game from Blockbuster and played it for hours on end. 2 player is fun!

Brooo! Straight into hard mode and one shot! No debunking required dude you are amazing! Took me weeks, I think the hard mode didn’t change much tho! At least other people found it difficult too and you had fun and got to knock it out haha
Only thing is that this game is meant to be played co-op which makes it a much more dynamic experience and something later games focused more on, this is a great introduction game to the franchise

I loved this game as a kid. Remember that the wheel was the best weapon, hardest to use, but best.
Game from this era was something else and many of them still holds up. It's crazy when you think about it

This a fun little gem on the SNES! The arcade version is probably the best version of this game, with the Genesis version having some differences to the SNES that make it a more faithful arcade port. The Genesis version is slightly harder than the SNES version in general, you can actually stomp enemies to kill them, you can charge up your weapons to make them more powerful, it has a couple extra weapons, and it also has an exclusive level that is strangely absent from the SNES version (a dinosaur-riding level).
Also, if you like Joe & Mac, there is a semi-obscure game on the Sega Genesis called *Toki: Going Ape Spit* You play an ape in that can collect and spit out different weapons. It has a similar tone to this game and is actually even more challenging (1-hit deaths). Worth checking out, if you get the chance!

So am I crazy and is it not that the boss has weakness it's just that they have multiple health bars and the game isn't good at showing it?

You could also make a series of arcade games. You have the skills and they have the challenge. Something like karnov or Toki for example, two of the really difficult games for someone to finish.

Data East had some of the craziest games out there. They aren't all bangers, but you got give them props for creativity.
I loved this game as a kid and again as an adult. Wanted to suggest Maximo for the PS2 if you haven't played it before. It's another game in the Ghosts 'n Goblins series. I've watched you play most of them so I figured you might as well run through the whole series.

That piranha plant boss is nearly identical in how it fights and most of its design as the boss from the Poison Ivy level of The Adventures of Batman and Robin for SNES! 😂

Wheel is the stronest the health going slow cuz your on hard, you find keys in the bonos section. You get the bonus from breaking the red eggs with no bad guys on scrren

Uniracers for SNES! An incredibly fun racing meets Tony Hawk game. Lots of challenges like time attacks and trick attacks. Would be good for a short video or part of one.
Glover for N64. This is a really weird game. Its like mario 64 style, open world gotta go into levels and collect things. The weird thing about the game is you play as a glove.. with a ball. You kind of just have to see it >.>
