Easily one of the most interesting, genuine, and even (if you'll excuse me) humorous stories I've heard in a long time. You have a great sense of humor and a great way of speaking, I've got to show my grandpa this because I know he'd love it. Been watching you since I was a young teen, now, as a 'grown-up' I can gladly say your videos only get better with time! like a fine wine. I should know, I'm old enough to drink now :)
That was a great story! Kind of reminds me of mine and many other childhoods many years ago! Too bad kids these days can’t enjoy the fun we had growing up!
I wish i could have lived back then. Seemed like kids back then were treated more like adults. More than adults are treated today. I can see you really love the stainless steel revolvers.
@@Icarryone i have heard that from many people. I love shooting blackpowder. Never shot stainless tho. I see you also like ivory grips. A few years ago i was at a antique store.and they had this stand made out of real ivory. I bought it and made a set of grips for one of my colts. I see why ivory grips were loved. They make amazing grips for guns
If I’m not mistaken this is a re upload, thank you very much for taking the time, I can listen to it over and over. Groin up in Mexico City, my older sister and brother and I used to play a lot with fire crackers, we would save the dud’s and when we had a few, we take powder out and make a small pile, as you mention sometimes you had to get real close with a match to light it, we’ll one time my brother did and when it lit up his face was so close he inhaled quite a bit of smoke, as he exhaled saying mama he let the smoke out his face didn’t burn but it was covered in soot. All I remember was my older sister had to run to the restroom leaving a trail of pi she was laughing so hard great times.
LMAO you are a great story teller and about my age. I did something equally stupid as the black powder on the bike seat. At 12 years old I was able to by the "ingredients" to make gunpowder at my local hobby shop. Remember whey sold chemistry sets in the 60's It didn't take much more also purchased at the hobby shop to make gun powder. My parents were out for a late dinner and a movie and we decided to put the mixture on a paper plate on our wood kitchen table. It went off in a instant hot flash. It burned thru the paper plate and table, and the sparks burned holes in the white vinyl seat cushions. The funny thing is I did my best to cover it up and it took a couple days for them to find the damage. I have no idea what I was thinking since my friends were always the crazy ones. The kicker is after explaining what happened I thought I was a dead 12 year old, but they let it go. I was shocked! Good times!
Icarryone , that was a great story and some nice Black Powder Revolvers to .My old supervisor back in the early 90s had a home made solid stainless 4foot long and 6inch thick cylinder that had a hole drilled in it that a golf ball fit perfect in .Then he put some black powder in a plastic lunch bag and rammed it down with the ball .Lit the fuse ,the ground shook and the gulf ball was, gone! Hope you like my story, thanks Slim.
Years ago, I attended a Civil War reenactment where a dozen 12 pound Napoléon style cannons fired simultaneously. You could literally feel the ground shake - absolutely awesome!
@@Icarryone That would be awesome Icarryone .I live in Virginia and you well know that more Civil Wars were fought here than any other State. But I haven't seen a re- enactment yet .Hopefully some day. Slim.
Oh mama those are some beautifull revolvers! I think we all do some experiments when we are young and realize its a miracle that we survived when we are older.
Removing that pipe is worse than cleaning out sand for weeks. 😅😅 Reminds me of the story from my chemistry professor. He and a friend were trying to make plastic wrap with his chemistry set. Ends up the national guard had to transport the experiment to the desert. Where it was summarily detonated.
Childhood memories
Yes indeed! 👍

Wow, thank you!
By far the best narrator of any firearm channel , maybe any topic channel.

Yes, too many video games and unlimited access to social media. No time for experiencing "real" life.
The work on that center, two tone revolver is jaw dropping 😨
Yes, its actually pretty ornate.
Now THAT is a story to be re-told. Over and over again.
👍😊
I wish i could have lived back then. Seemed like kids back then were treated more like adults. More than adults are treated today. I can see you really love the stainless steel revolvers.
Yes, stainless steel is much easier to clean if you're a black powder shooter.

Yes, the older version needed to be updated with better audio.
What a great story. Smiled all the way.
👍😊
Ah, childhood! I was blowing things up young too..... Don't know how I survived.
I hear you! 👍
Awesome video TY for sharing

That is an excellent origin story

Great story! Those were the days.
Indeed!

Sad, isn't it?

Yeah, that was just an experiment - probably won't use it again.
Funny!
Thanks!
Got a question, what is your favorite all time western?
I would like to say: "Open Range" - The mini-series "Lonesome Dove" would be a close second.
@@Icarryone lonesome dove got recommended to me by our Auxiliary here at my duty station. I think I’m gonna watch it
Just to let you know good sir. Someone is posing as you saying that i have been selected as a winner in their contest
