I'm 75 and I wear what is neat and comfortable. I don't wear fuzzy slippers but I wear sneakers and sandals in the summer. I also wear shorts and sleeveless tops in the summer and I keep my butt covered at all times. I wear what I want and that fit. When I go shopping I like to dress nicely but being a baby boomer I still remember how women dressed in the 1950s. Though I don't wear dresses as I don't have any. But I still like to dress nicely. Happy New Year and God bless.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful perspective! It’s inspiring how you embrace comfort and style in a way that suits you. Dressing nicely while staying true to yourself is a beautiful approach. Wishing you a Happy New Year and many blessings ahead!
Yep. That hit me at 78. I used to clean everything every day as I'd been doing the same thing daily for over 59 years. Laundry every 2 days. I finally realized I didn't have to anymore. FREEDOM!!!!!!
I've always been at this point 😂 spontaneous, never gave a crap about what others thought, fashion was what I felt comfortable in and liked, living in the moment!
Don't have to wait until you are 70! I've never bothered with fashion or any other trends, never been invited to all that many parties, only have a routine of taking care of our animals and only get important news from family members who are interested in listening to it
You're absolutely right! Living authentically and focusing on what truly matters, like caring for your animals and staying connected with loved ones, is a beautiful way to live at any age. Thank you for sharing!
I think Yoga is a very misunderstood concept in the west. It is not meant to be a physical work out. The asanas need to be performed with proper spiritual practices like meditation. Once you have received initial training it needs to be practiced at home or in a quiet place. Not in a noisy gym/studio with its accompanying distractions. If done properly it is soothing, destressing and relaxing. Doesnt need fancy equipment or attire. Unfortunately as with most things the west has commercialized it so much that the basic goal of practicing yoga is lost.
You're absolutely right! Yoga is deeply spiritual and meant to be practiced in a calm, focused environment, not as a workout in noisy, distracting places. Its true benefits come when combined with meditation and mindfulness, rather than commercialized trends. Thank you for sharing this insight!
Thank you for sharing! It's great to hear you're feeling this way at 62. Embracing this mindset can truly lead to more peace and happiness. Keep shining!
9…!!! I’m so ready to embrace life more fully & authentically…Thank you for pointing out such liberating new ways to accept the freedom we earn by becoming older…, without apologizing for being ME…!! 😉😊✨🙏🏼🕊️🙏🏼✨
I can’t agree, please don’t advocate bad manners, I’m 89 and would welcome the kindness shown by someone making me a casserole, how rude to react that way. I also doubt a neighbour would welcome that remark about their garden! 😮
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I completely understand and respect your perspective. Kindness and respect for others are important values, and everyone’s preferences are different. The intention is never to offend but to encourage thoughtful interactions. I appreciate your input!
I have had several jobs where I had to say "no" a lot. This made it easy to say a polite but firm no in other areas of my life...parties, volunteering , etc and i never felt guilty about it. Being alone is not the same as being lonely. After I was in my 20's I knew comfortable clothes were for me, as long as the clothes were clean and appropriate for the occasion (shoes especially).
Thank you for sharing your experience! It's great to hear how you've embraced setting boundaries and found comfort in your own choices. You're absolutely right-being alone doesn't mean being lonely, and knowing what makes you feel comfortable and confident is so important. Keep living your truth! 🙏
I’ve not cared about such things …EVER!! Maybe I’ll start soon?!? Almost there, age wise. PS. Now that I have finished watching, I can say that nothing in the video magically changes at age 70. You are describing personality changes that are partly dependent on environment. Extroverts turning into introverts, for example, with retirement. All overly vague and personally inapplicable generalizations.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! You're right-personality changes can vary greatly and are influenced by many factors. The video aimed to explore common patterns, but everyone's journey is unique. Appreciate your perspective!
On the most part this is a very good video! But the part about telling other people what they “should” do in their own yard is NOT OK! And there are times when not being polite is rude, being any age does not earn you the right to be rude or poke your nose into others lives and tell them what they should be doing or not doing! Live and let live! I’m 78 yo! It’s Dec 31, 2024 you all out there have a Wonderful New Year! ♥️
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feedback! We're glad you enjoyed the video overall. You make an excellent point about respecting others' boundaries-it's a reminder we all can benefit from. Wishing you a joyful and peaceful New Year as well! ❤️
The only problem with not watching the news is being unaware of changes in laws and in the world/country that may affect you. You don't want to show up at some place you've done business before to find out all of the stores have closed, etc. Or SSI has changed. It pays to be in the know to keep up with current events.
You're absolutely right! Staying informed about important changes is crucial, especially when it comes to laws and services that affect our daily lives. It’s all about finding the right balance between staying updated and protecting your peace. Thanks for sharing your insight!
There's no need to feel guilty. Rest is important at any age, and it's great that you're listening to your body. Enjoy your mornings and take things at your own pace!
Oh no, Ethel turned into Karen! It was her right, she’s old. Some of this video is too ridiculous. Civility has no age restriction. Yoga isn’t meant to be grueling. Opting out of the world and it’s issues isn’t freeing; it’s choosing to live in a vacuum. Why not just opt out completely? Good grief! I’m 80, do as I please as long as it doesn’t hurt someone else, wear trendy fashions IF they are beautiful AND comfortable, eat semi-wisely and get a moderate amount of exercise whether walking, weed whacking or painting the house. All of this jibberish would make me want to just check out early.
Be careful with speaking your mind. It is fine to speak your mind and stop sugar coating if you can handle it when you get a non sugar coated response. Some people believe that age gives them the right to tell it like it is then get their feelings hurt when another person tells them like it is. If you can't take it don't dish it, Is my philosophy.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! You make a great point-honesty is important, but it’s also essential to be ready for honest feedback. A balance of speaking truthfully and being open to others' perspectives can lead to better understanding and growth.
This is terribly generalized. What about the people who still have to worry about survival? Those who are alone? Still have to work? Not everyone gets to wear fluffy slippers.....
Thank you for your comment! I completely understand your point, and you're right-everyone's circumstances are different. The goal of the video is to offer insight and inspiration, but I acknowledge that many face real challenges. I appreciate your perspective and hope to continue providing content that resonates with everyone. Stay strong!
This list is horrible. Invite other people to become Sloppy, lazy unsocial, and blind to watch the world. every item on your list will just humble a person to depression. It will close your mouth to the friends and family. And they’ll become that quiet person that sits in the corner that no one knows. Your health will get weaker and they’ll take away the reasons for living life to its fullest.
Thank you for sharing your perspective! I understand your concern, and it's important to balance solitude with connection. The goal here is to inspire a sense of inner peace, not isolation. We all need to find our own path, and it's about what works best for each individual. Your feedback is valuable, and I appreciate the opportunity to discuss these ideas openly!
Thank you for your comment! It's true that not everyone will always agree, but staying true to oneself with principles #5 and #6 can lead to greater inner peace and personal growth. Keep embracing those values!
I can only imagine how challenging that must be. Life can throw unexpected hurdles at any age, but remember, it's never too late to rebuild and find new strength. Stay positive, and take things one step at a time!

I'm so glad to hear that! Embracing this phase of life with positivity and growth is truly empowering. Wishing you continued joy and fulfillment!

Agree with you 100%!!!!!
The spiritual side is the issue. I would never do it.
@@nancy9478I agree, Nancy. Every pose is a worship pose for a different god. I stay away from yoga! It’s demonic!!!
One of the unnecessary things on my list is watching videos telling me what I don’t need to do anymore.😉
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Sometimes even the simplest reminders can spark valuable insights. Wishing you all the best on your journey! 😊
Yes. I’m 62 and feels this way now.
Thank you for sharing! It's great to hear you're feeling this way at 62. Embracing this mindset can truly lead to more peace and happiness. Keep shining!
These were good ideas to think about. Thank you for sharing.

That's definitely a 9 for me. N just in time for me to come across this video. I just turned 70 in July. Thank you. I thought it was just me.🤔😏😁

I am 90 years old and feel guilty when I stay in bed until 8.30am.
There's no need to feel guilty. Rest is important at any age, and it's great that you're listening to your body. Enjoy your mornings and take things at your own pace!
Why on earth do you feel guilty! You’ve earned a right to rest!
I agree. I feel l wasted the whole day if l am not up by 7:30😂.
You go Ms. Mary!
That all well and good, I'm living that. However, doctors want you to still be 50, busy and active when I just want to be left alone.

I never cared what people think. But guess what. I love fashion. Even at 70. So u r making over 70 f
Did not finish comment. Seems like u put people like myself who love style. Oh yes keep us where u want. Omg. This is dumb.
If you love style,go with it. I think the meaning here is just be you.

Rthelnshould mind her own business. On another note what 70 year old is named Ethel?
Thanks for your comment! Names can be quite timeless, and people of all ages have unique ones. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts!

Thanks 🥰
If a person of any age abides with #5 and #6, other people will not be agreeable, accommodating to their presence or participation.

Try going through a divorce at 70 and see how that makes you feel🙄
