This was such a satisfying decluttering project! It's amazing how taking just an hour to focus on one small space can make such a huge difference. I'm glad I'm not the only person who loves an impromptu declutter :)

One thing not mentioned is it's so much easier to clear someone else's stuff and vice versa. Great job, Carla!!
One suggestion is that if the side shelves were in an L shape rather than parallel she would have more room to step in and have more vision of what she has stored.
Yeah, a different shape would be better for the shelves. We don't see if she's a smaller person, but when I saw the low ceiling my back already hurt 😢
Carla you are such a good friend. You bring humor and hard work to each project. Plus, cats love cleanliness and organization. Looks like they were happily supervising the progress. 😹

Yes! I feel like I stumbled upon the very best person with the best attitude to get it done! I don't feel bad about my inability to clear my clutter (I am disabled and the low energy deters me from starting. I just found Carla and I am ready to start doing it one space at a time! She's so gracious and calm. ❤❤❤
If your friend could build decluttering muscels, she would have a near empty pantry in a year. Learning to let go. We all are different though, important is that she is happy with herself. Thank you to your friends for allowing us into her home. ❤
Don’ the inside of that door is valuable real estate! My mom just got one of those hanging ziploc bag/parchment paper/plastic wrap/aluminum foil organizers and that cleared out a whole drawer. She could also hang her lunch box(es) on the door. I mean the sky is the limit with that ❤️

Actually, you can buy a clean pizza box. I know crafters who use them to store craft items.
Every week,my husband orders a large pizza and I order the eggplant parmigiana dinner that comes with bread,salad and dressing. They put all of mine in a smaller pizza box for safe transport. At first we didn’t know what to do with a perfectly clean pizza box but now we put the leftover pizza in it and get rid of the large box.🙌🏻

Can't fully tell what from the video, but the small bugs look like weevils, and they like a lot of pantry staples that are starchy/carbohydrates. Its super important to make sure rice, flour, etc. is kept in airtight containers.

We are all guilty of keeping stuff we will never use. I just decluttered my already minimal kitchen, and for some reason I'm keeping a pack of stainless steel straws. BUT, after watching this, they are gonna be donated!

My guilty pleasure is my attic. The ladder is narrow, the light is only available from the last step on and I wouldn't dare to stand on the floor. Don't trust it to be walkable.
But there are 2-3 suitcases shoved to the right and left. The roof isn't isolated, so there garbage, I'm afraid.😢
Yeah. Our intentions are good (environment friendly stuff), but when you never used it before, it has to go. Today I gave a carpet away, no luxury quality, but someone else will enjoy it.

Mostly just cleaning out on this one. Suggest she gets a covered container for dry cat food. If she really doesn’t cook the. Suggestion: Counter could be decluttered and appliances etc stored on floor under pantry shelves.
Not sure what the background is, but I think that the person who needs the place clean, should also be helping with the cleaning!
I’m sooo into zoning that I would have put the two lunch bags on the right side next to the paper and plastic bags.Underneath I would have put the plastic cup box,straws,etc. box and cooler.Silverware box and water dispenser on floor of right side. (All non food) On shelves on left side,all food: for people and pets. Of course,you graciously did this on the spur of the moment,I’m sitting here contemplating what might be the best to sustain in the long run. (so now I’m just going to walk away.)🤭

❤ I’m playing catch up with Carla tonight. Aww, such a nice little declutter and reorganize! Now, I know you recently visited on the east coast, but I am going to need you to come to West Virginia and we do my little dining room closet. 😂 I am 100% capable (as long as my back isn’t hurting too much….seems to be a theme lately), BUT…what you could do in an hour or two would take me four or five. I know it. Every time I start something like this, it takes me so much longer than I expect. Not sure if it’s the ADHD or I’m just too thorough about some things…or indecisive? Probably a combo of it all. I need a cleaning buddy to keep me on track! I can’t seem to truly concentrate my efforts I guess? I feel like it’s all a domino effect. Maybe you or others will have tips for moving the process along faster. I wish we could share pics in the comments of youtube vids. I would show a before of the closet. It’s mostly kitchen/utility storage and cleaning supplies. Then everyone seeing it would make me get it done. Maybe. 😆

Much better. I thin your friend might benefit from auditing what she uses over the next couple of months and decluttering what is redundant- good way to overcome the fear of letting go.
Very nice organization. If she did have more cans (only 2 lol) she probably could get more can holders to go across the top. They looked "handy". The plastic bag holder also was handy...seemed to store a lot of bags.

I didnt declutter anything this weekend.
Our ac went out and it is still 90° daily. Deconstructed and cleaned out a window unit for our bedroom, then dried it in the sun, then reassembled it. Hubby installed it because I cant lift

Really a great reorganizing job!! Since we pay .10 a bag in CA, haven’t had a plastic bag since 2012 when the law changed. Why pay for bags to be stored in a closet or cabinet? That pantry looks outstanding now! I have a closet just like that under staircase. I store birdseed and hit my head multiple times a week! Who invented those???

My pantry floor opens up to my cellar. One side I can put a shelving unit (which I ordered)and it won't have to be moved to open the floor..I bought green paint in artichoke to paint the interior walls and ceiling. I've ordered. Motion detector light to put in the top and I'm waiting on sealable containers to come in. Higher shelves will go in the opposite side so the tools can go on those. Waiting on grandkids to start back to school to get going on mine!!
