Side note: I did some decluttering yesterday of a 50-100 square foot area and it's taking FOREVER so I'm especially amazed by the amount you two accomplished in a single day. WOW

Those wooden chairs are awesome. Imagine if a garage sale were held once a year to start with, this wouldn’t have accumulated
For some that is the first step! Get it out of the house. Sometimes so hard to let go.
@@gamerperson9545 I have a garage sale every spring and fall and because of this, it’s always clean and orderly with both cars inside.
I think having the dumpster on hand and Habitat being able to pick up same day was a huge help. No post-declutter holds! That's the stage that always gets me, lol.

1) Good weather helps
2) Clearly a family who loves a party ( folding tables & chairs, drinks trough)
3) You were so organised, you had the next two steps ready (dumpster & pick up)
4) it doesn't matter how much space you have, you'll fill it 😂

This was fabulous. It’s all about being ready and having that extra person to redirect. We can waffle over the smallest things unless someone asks what we really intend to do with/use an item for. So cool to see him drive his car in😀
That's my problem with binders and boxes. I hared it when they tossed the binders lol. My boyfriend's problem is T-shirts from volunteering/sports game giveaways that are too small

I love how this turned out! His wife is going to cry tears of joy when she sees how neat and organized everything is now. No more climbing over junk to get to the things that they actually need and use.
As someone w an apartment and no personal garage, that is a lot of stuff lol. My parents finally cleaned out their garage for my moms new vehicle but their home still has lots of clutter.

Watching this after tackling my parents' basement, we found my grandpa's photos from WWII 😲 We also have so many old photos in frames that take up a ton of space, so we're planning on taking them all out of the frames and putting them in albums! It will save a ton of space.

What a great inspiration Carla. It's inspired me to get rid of /donate our kids old sporting equipment. Goodbye skateboards, hockey skates and helmets. I'm sure that garage clearing will just be the first step of many for them. I find once you get started that you start to reevaluate other spaces in your life.🌻

I'm trying to get inspired as well to clean out my sort of depression room/daughter's old bedroom who moved out in 2017!!! & I still haven't gotten it together lol! Unfortunately, it has become the kitty litter box, xtra & off season home decor, dumping ground room!! I so look forward to the light feeling that comes from completing such a task...

Brad looks to be about my age. I wish my husband was as motivated to clean out his work shop as Brad is. This was a really fun video and very motivating! Funny the stuff we keep that we forget we have. It’s hard to get rid of momentos. I’ll be tackling our detached garage in the fall when it cools down. I’ll play this video again when I’m doing it.
there is space again for a CAR. - I'm still amazed at how big that garage is, as a European.. it's a full-sized apartment space for me XD

I called Habitat for Humanity, they took almost everything.

Outstanding excellent job! That's the right way to declutter, just two people and the input of the owner who knows what it's dear to him and his family to keep! A helper that listens, advises but it's flexible! He kept all valuable things in all areas (I would have donated the magazines to an antique shop as they're collectibles!) Good job 😊❤

So happy to see a man willing to declutter. I’m still working on my husband and son but it’s a slow process. Meanwhile I’m purging as much of my own clutter as possible as I need to feel like I’m making progress.

It is hard to declutter, especially when you have decades of stuff. I've gone through my art supplies twice and decluttered and I still have a ton to do. And when it cools off, I live in the desert, I plan on tackling my garage. I got rid of two large storage units and ended up with 12 or so boxes with mostly mementos (pictures that had been my mothers and grandmothers). I need to get rid of them and that will be the hardest. Brad did an outstanding job. I think that it was great that he had Carla there to help and guide him.

This was so much fun to watch, not only because it was a guy decluttering, which you don't see often, but also because it's always nice to see so many items donated and given second life. It's always great watching people take control of their space, by taking control of their mindset, and ultimately their lives.

Good Lord above! What an epic day, you two were amazing! I hope Brad was gentle with himself after this - because the sheer number of decisions he needed to make - the being presented with years memories and having to do it all in one day - it was all a mountain! I think he and his lady ought to go in that space and put on some music and have a dance - light some candles - get the energy stirred up and circulating - a little magic to celebrate that incredible effort. It looked wonderful afterwards! Amazing job!

The restore is a great place to donate. We did the same thing this week to our basement. They picked up a large load and we decided to donate more the next day. It is freeing to see the empty space!

Watching this to get motivated to clean out my garage from hell😅 those bakers racks are fantastic. We bought 3 for our garage and the ability to get things up off the floor made a huge huge improvement. We got ours at home depot. They are very affordable and look great.

Surprised the books in good condition in cardboard boxes. I have mine in our barn loft in plastic bins and plastic bags filled with books and sprinkled with boric acid to keep out the bugs! This was a MASSIVE declutter project in the South Carolina heat. What a great job and so satisfying. Brad gets a really nice kickback area! Plus the car fits!!
