I think having the dumpster on hand and Habitat being able to pick up same day was a huge help. No post-declutter holds! That's the stage that always gets me, lol.
Observations re: this video.... 1) Good weather helps 2) Clearly a family who loves a party ( folding tables & chairs, drinks trough) 3) You were so organised, you had the next two steps ready (dumpster & pick up) 4) it doesn't matter how much space you have, you'll fill it 😂
Side note: I did some decluttering yesterday of a 50-100 square foot area and it's taking FOREVER so I'm especially amazed by the amount you two accomplished in a single day. WOW

As someone w an apartment and no personal garage, that is a lot of stuff lol. My parents finally cleaned out their garage for my moms new vehicle but their home still has lots of clutter.
Watching this after tackling my parents' basement, we found my grandpa's photos from WWII 😲 We also have so many old photos in frames that take up a ton of space, so we're planning on taking them all out of the frames and putting them in albums! It will save a ton of space.

Brad looks to be about my age. I wish my husband was as motivated to clean out his work shop as Brad is. This was a really fun video and very motivating! Funny the stuff we keep that we forget we have. It’s hard to get rid of momentos. I’ll be tackling our detached garage in the fall when it cools down. I’ll play this video again when I’m doing it.
It is hard to declutter, especially when you have decades of stuff. I've gone through my art supplies twice and decluttered and I still have a ton to do. And when it cools off, I live in the desert, I plan on tackling my garage. I got rid of two large storage units and ended up with 12 or so boxes with mostly mementos (pictures that had been my mothers and grandmothers). I need to get rid of them and that will be the hardest. Brad did an outstanding job. I think that it was great that he had Carla there to help and guide him.
Awesome job! It's hard work! We stored my husband's grandmothers furniture in our garage when she passed away. A few years after my husband passed away, I went through everything in our garage. So Much Stuff!! I called Habitat for Humanity, they took almost everything. It's such a good feeling to declutter on a large scale. Good job!!! 💕

The restore is a great place to donate. We did the same thing this week to our basement. They picked up a large load and we decided to donate more the next day. It is freeing to see the empty space!

Surprised the books in good condition in cardboard boxes. I have mine in our barn loft in plastic bins and plastic bags filled with books and sprinkled with boric acid to keep out the bugs! This was a MASSIVE declutter project in the South Carolina heat. What a great job and so satisfying. Brad gets a really nice kickback area! Plus the car fits!!
Watching this to get motivated to clean out my garage from hell😅 those bakers racks are fantastic. We bought 3 for our garage and the ability to get things up off the floor made a huge huge improvement. We got ours at home depot. They are very affordable and look great.

This was a great episode! Brad got his workbench back and his car in the garage. I bet he is on cloud 9! I love Habitat for Humanity Restore. They were so grateful when I donated my mother’s and grandmother’s china. I had the worst experience with Goodwill rummaging through my donations and tossing things in the trash pile right in front of me. Perfectly good pieces. Uggh, never going back there!

Good Lord above! What an epic day, you two were amazing! I hope Brad was gentle with himself after this - because the sheer number of decisions he needed to make - the being presented with years memories and having to do it all in one day - it was all a mountain! I think he and his lady ought to go in that space and put on some music and have a dance - light some candles - get the energy stirred up and circulating - a little magic to celebrate that incredible effort. It looked wonderful afterwards! Amazing job!

Surprised the books in good condition in cardboard boxes. I have mine in our barn loft in plastic bins and plastic bags filled with books and sprinkled with boric acid to keep out the bugs! This was a MASSIVE declutter project in the South Carolina heat. What a great job and so satisfying. Brad gets a really nice kickback area! Plus the car fits!!
My local farmers markets have a “need a bag, take a bag” box.. it’s a great way to get rid of the extra reusable bags all over the house

Watching this to get motivated to clean out my garage from hell😅 those bakers racks are fantastic. We bought 3 for our garage and the ability to get things up off the floor made a huge huge improvement. We got ours at home depot. They are very affordable and look great.

This was a great episode! Brad got his workbench back and his car in the garage. I bet he is on cloud 9! I love Habitat for Humanity Restore. They were so grateful when I donated my mother’s and grandmother’s china. I had the worst experience with Goodwill rummaging through my donations and tossing things in the trash pile right in front of me. Perfectly good pieces. Uggh, never going back there!
