unpretentious, no BS, and informative. thank you for sharing. new subscriber here.
love the gourds, i'll stick with the beeswax one tho since i don't trust paraffin when it comes to anything food/drink (dunno but read there's a chance it might be able to accumulate in the liver and kidneys.. might be bs and probably a non-issue anyway if u don't drink liters/alcohol from the gourd every day, but the smell of beeswax reminds me of my childhood so that's that :D)
Good video man keep it up, I'm subbing rn
Thanks for watching! I really appreciate the sub! ^_^
noodle boiler ? never thought of that, thank you. good video.
nice video my g, keep going
Love the videos man! I’m attempting my first gourd bottle this week. I think I’m going to take the paraffin wax route, but I was wondering if you rubbed the paraffin wax on the outside of the bottle to seal it the same way you did with the beeswax in the gourd bottle video? Thanks dude!
Thanks for watching! Good luck with your first attempt!
Great question. I didn't rub it with the wax like I did in the previous video but I did seal the outside tho. It was done when I finished shaking the gourd.
Some spilled out and coated the outside. As it was still hot I simply rubbed it with my glove and then heated it over a fire to get it to smooth out and coat evenly.
Hope that helps!!
I really would like to make my own I just bought mines today even though you make it look easy I'm a bit paranoid I wish I had somebody that knows how to do it for me
Por favor traducir al español
i make alot of wine at home and i really want to put it in one of those beautiful gourdes
what will happen if you dont coat it? will it still hold the alcohol or water? or maybe it will slowly disappear?
You are actually the first person I have seen that used wax on one of these bottles, does that just increase the lifespan?
It’s actually crucial for it to be water proof I have a leather mug from a festival a few years back and the wax protects the leather since it isn’t water proof I’m sure it would work without the wax but certainly not as long
Hey man. What kind of gourd is this
is it possible to use this with heated sake or would it strip the wax?
What wax is better and do you have to put it inside
This is that in sindbad tale
are you sure using paraffin wax as sealant is such a good idea? isn't there a risk it leaches toxins into the water?
"Paraffin wax is very combustable! We're doing it this way so it doesn't get too hot, or it'll combust! You've gotta be careful, paraffin wax WILL COMBUST if it gets too hot!"
_spills a bunch of wax from the gourd directly onto the heat source, multiple times_
Never use paraffin wax. Use natural beeswax.
New subscriber here. This is a fantastic video! Thanks!
I'm here from tiktok bless you brother love your content 💪🏻
great to have on my samurai cosplay costume
Did you try and open the pores of the gourd at all by heating it up?
Maybe that is why your beeswax one deteriorated and didn't last
