Just ordered 2packs. After watching this I bought a used SOT that had a crack for almost nothing. This keel Guard is very highly recommended every where. Cant wait to install it on this kayak
I got a hole in my kayak yesterday and was taking on water bad. Luckily I had one of those foam rubber stadium seat cushions and tore off a chunk of the inside and stuffed it on the hole. was able to finish my trip without having to drain my kayak!
I tried installing this earlier. Could not get it to form right. Was stiff as a board out of the package. Was not pliable. I’m wondering if I had a bad one. May retry again. After watching yours and others. Had me baffled
kayaking for 9 years now and both of my kayaks show their age and wear. I will be ordering Gator patches in the early part of Spring. Surely they will still be around to do just that.
You've put a lot of work into this channel. The content is solid and your diy tutorials are top notch. Content has improved greatly since you started. Liked and subscribed. Thanks for taking us along and providing some solid help for us kayak fishing folks.
Really good info, I have a new kayak, think I will just put the gator patch on the bow / keel to start off, and keep and extra one in my dry box.. Do they have a Shelf life ?
I’m not sure on the shelf life, I’ll have to look into it. But it looks like as long as it’s stored properly, it will last a long time.👍🏼 thanks for watching be sure to subscribe.
Okay, so this is like the third vid I have watched in reference to this product. I like it and want to put this on my 2021 Hobie Outback. My question? I havent seen a video on how to remove it later on when it starts getting worn and its time for a new one. If it hardens and is as strong as they say, How do you remove it? Heat gun and slowly peel away? Chemicals?
I’m new to your channel and it’s awesome sir I have only watched about 10 of your videos so far and I’m very impressed with you and your videos. Keep it up.
Damn, I've been worried about my pa 14's keel, it's wearing out, and literally flat now. Thank goodness I ran into this video, definitely going to invest and recommend to my buddies.
Hi really like your channel have subscribed, question ..what yr and model Hobie is that? Looks great ..watched you Doing the painting and upgrades ..never noticed model and yr !
There is a similar product using a clip from your video in the facebook advertising. I recognized you and thought I would come here to see if the product is good or not, but looks like a totally different product.
Thanks, yeah the ad you are seeing with me in it is some cheap duck tape stuff not this Gator Guard. The company stole clips of my videos and are using them to trick people into buying their crap. We are currently trying to do something about it. Thanks for reaching out !
Stuff didn't work for me. I don't have an indoor place to repair my kayak and found out this stuff hardens within seconds outdoors. Also thought $70 for a 9x12 piece was alittle pricy. Thankfully Amazon has a good return policy.
I used gator guard on my older kayak. Awesome stuff. You can keep working it after you peel the clear plastic off
Now what about when it’s time to replace it? How easy or hard does it come off to put another one on?

You just got another subscriber here and I'm checking out the links you provided now. Thanks!
Great video and product looks good, how has it held up after 3 years of use?
Nice video .... quick Q, what's your kayak made of? Is it HDPE?

Thanks bud! It’s a 2014 Hobie PA
Clean first then sand so you do not sand contaminants into the plastic then sand then clean again
Is that regular rubbing alcohol. Or do you need a 60% and greater version. I know I’ve bought up to 91% at Walgreens
I think just the regular stuff is fine👍🏼
Merry Christmas
