  • Protect your kayak with a $25 product by Gator Guard. The Gator Guard adheres to plastic, fiberglass and helps to protect against damage from dragging. I placed this 4x6 inch patch on the bow of the boat. I noticed when I would load and unload the kayak by myself I would scratch the area that did not include the protective skid plate that Old Town added to the Autopilot 120. The product is pliable for the first five minutes and then starts to hardened and bond with the surface you are sticking it to. UV completely cures the product in an hour. Now that I have added quite a bit of extra plastic to the kayak, I really don't have to worry about putting a hole in the hull. If you like this quick kayak tip, please like, share, and comment.

Another tip is to put it on in your garage or inside, then take it outside to cure in the sunlight.

Might try this if my pereguard ever comes off. Gator guard's keelshield was a regrettable waste of money and garbage. Wouldn't stay attached to my AP136. It was half hanging off when I finally just pulled the rest off without much trouble. It was so bad I avoided buying anything else from them. And yes I followed their directions to a T.

Hi Josh and camera person Chris. Looking good. I love family videos. Your daughter is a cutie and will be bringing boys home soon! 😅 I bet a pint of black Rust-oleum and a small brush and know one would know any different. Just a suggestion. Stay Well guys 👍👍

I'm going to check this out to put on the boat where the roller and boat meet. Still haven't made the swimbaits for you guys yet but will get to them as soon as I get some extra time to to them.

If you want to take it off to put another one on how do you take it off

I imagine you would have to heat it or sand it off.

Would you recomend doing this to a new boat, to protect it from damage?
