Abstract art using watercolour and paint mediums

I use mixed media to create abstract art.
I have used watercolour mediums to create patterns with and manipulate the watercolour paint.
I have used acrylic texture gels and mediums to distort the finish of the watercolours.
The mediums are from ‪@winsornewton‬
I was very happy with how much more exciting, enjoyable and easier it was to use the watercolours with mediums.

Hi Mara, I see people in shapes all the time, I think it’s the curvy lines. I was listening to draftsmen most recent podcast (on YT). They were discussing Reilly method and the curbing of the lines creating rhythm. It was very interesting (I’ve only recently discovered them).
I’m liking the mediums, it adds that exciting aspect like the gel plate has (moving things about, textures, etc). 😁😎

It must have been something about the medium used there bc usually there is no problem wh putting masking fluid over watercolor. As long as it's really dry anyway. ❤

Hi Elizabeth, thank you for this info. I’ve never used the masking fluid before so this is very helpful to know.
I really liked using the mediums. I think it was probably not dry enough. It was touch dry but I think an overnight dry would have been my best bet. ❤️
