- When a human delegation arrives at an interstellar summit with two infamous Vzorix "pets" in tow, the aliens are shocked and terrified at these deadly creatures now acting tame and affectionate. As the summit continues, the Vzorix remain protective and devoted to their human masters, leading to chaos when the aliens finally push them too far.

This story is totally believable. Humans will make anything a pet.
I was think about crocodiles & great white sharks, Lions, Cobra's etc... There are a number of people who interact with those species on an intimate level at present day! So this Sci-fi concept has a hint of truth to it, your spot on. It's so refreshing & new, I haven't seen anything like this concept in Sci-fi in my 40 years in the west! We may actually have a new genre emerging here. I've seen a bit of it in anime lately, but it never occurred to me, to consider it in the "real" world & on a Star Trek / Stargate methodology!

lets be honest tho it's pretty good logically if you can earn the subordination of a species physically stronger then you in some way that is near absolute and train them while everyone else is terrified it is a really good tactic for battle beasts and the main reason racarth in Warhammer is so effective people expect a dark elf to show up with one dragon or hydra's not a army of fire elementals and giant spiders that follow orders affectionately it's like having a zoo of monsters as a army this is basically the same concept on a larger scale.
I know right? I loved this, so wholesome, even the most ferocious species need love too.

I lost my frisbee in their back yard once and slowly fed the dog a pound of baloney one slice at a time while I got into the yard the retrieve my frisbee. after that the dog was my best friend. Always coming to the gate to get pets and wagging his tail so hard the whole back half of his body would wag.
I hate to tell you this, but that dog was improperly trained. Accepting food from strangers is a big no-no.
@@YDV669That is a very hard trait to break.

Humanity ultimate technique: spending excruciatingly long time to find the best spot for scritches and use those scritches frequently
All the comments talking about how we tame animals by petting reminds me of how I, as a young boy, tamed a wild catfish that lived in a lake at my grandparents' farm via the same method. My great grandparents (Grandfather's parents) taught me fishing, and caught catfish regularly, but one particular catfish caught my eye, he was way bigger than the rest and had a white spot on the top of his head, and I would pet him as he swam by the boat. After a few years of this, the special boi learned that I was a friend and he would raise his head out of the water sometimes for whole minutes just so I could pet his head. He loved it. My great grandparents were dumbfounded, and if my whole family hadn't seen the interactions unfold, to this day none of them would've believed it, in their own words.
When I was about 4 or 5, I wandered to a house down the street. It was owned by a K-9 officer. When asked by my parents, I was told he said: "Oh, God, I hope the dog doesn't have him. He's trained to attack!" They found me wrapped around by the dog, who was busy cleaning my face. They said the officer was dumbfounded.
I think to an extent animals can sense malicious intent. They can also, however, tell very keenly when another animal or human is still a baby and/or very young, and so they tend to behave differently in those cases. When I was a toddler I was protected by one of my grandparents' dogs from their two others pretty often. The other two would get to playing and they'd be running around, but I'd be on the floor playing so if they weren't careful they'd risk trampling me. The protective dog sat with me and would attack them if they got too close during their rough-housing.@@johnmckown1267
I swear many years ago I saw a video of a man who made friends with a housefly. After that, anything was believable.
I live near the K9 trainer so I've been able to get my last few dogs trained. Most of the dogs don't seem aggressive at all, and pretty much just hold on as soon as you go down until the release command is given. There's definitely definitely exceptions but most seem to see it as a game of fetch and tug of war

Dogs descended from wolves, house cats descended from bigger cats. outside of the grazers, all the animals we “tame” are not exactly “safe”. We still do it though
as long as there is trust, they will not kill us,hurt maybe.
i saw a youtube video once of a person that had a wild wolf,he treated him with kindness and visited him every day, some time later he went in to the pen and the wolf let him pet him.

This brings me weird flashbacks to The Jungle Book from when I was a kid
"Let me tell you the law of the jungle, as old and as true as the sky
The wolf that will keep it shall prosper, the wolf that will break it must die
As the creeper that girdles the tree trunks, the law runneth forward and back

The story wouldn’t surprise me if it were in real life. We have a tendency to want to adopt everything is a pet. Even in real life people adapt lions and tigers and bears, oh my! As pets.
NO lions, tigers, bears, cats, dogs, birds, etc. consider Humans as retarded and deformed members of their own species!
We are pack animals. We hunt in packs. We have used animals in various roles. We have "tamed" and "domesticated" the water buffalo. Arguably one of the most dangerous animals that we human use in farming today. Yet it is not even a predator. A dangerous animal is only dangerous in certain situations. When that criteria is met. All hell can break loose. We humans for the most part understand and use this in training everything from an eagles, which is never tamed, to the descendants of an extinct wild species of wolf.
I suspect that we humans when we get off world and find animals on other worlds, will invariably make pets and/or use them in some capacity. It is what we do..
i heard the auroch and wild boar were also said to be "savage" and "monsterous" beasts in their time
@@gusty7153 That they were and in the case of the wild boar is still true today. In the south east US, the south West USA, and in some other parts of the world are considered dangerous feral animals. That hunters still take special caution in hunting.
On a farm. you do not fall down in a hog pen. The animals will kill you and eat you. In dealing with pigs it is always better to walk with caution and keep an eye on the animals as you work in that pen. the head butting is not showing affection. It is trying to knock you down to eat you.
Another fun fact about mr. hog. With in a single generation of getting free from a farm and breeding. The animals revert back to those wild origins. Not many other "domesticated" farm animals do that as quickly.
