What i like about this movie is that the movie answers "who they are" instead of "what they are". Their intent is the main focus of the movie because we dont know what there intent is till the very end of the movie. Is it resources? A precursor to an invasion? A simple introduction? And throughout all of this its impossible to know if these interactions are benevolent or malevolent. Its one thing to face an alien with clear hostile intent, atleast you know what you're getting into. This movies intent wasn't to instill horror but it did it better then 99% of horror movies by playing off our biggest fear. Fear of the unknown. It didnt need any jumpscares or clear acts of maliciousness because they knew that letting the human mind think up its worst case scenarios would be far scarier then anything the movie could have done.
Well said. Fear of the unknown is what gives a lot of horror movies and games their biggest edge. A monster that you know all their capabilities just becomes another creature. Not knowing what something can or will do makes it all the scarier, which is also a huge element in cosmic horror.

I think from what i see, its more like giving humans a little push to probably develop something that benefits them in the future. And by future i mean thousands if not millions of years. Maybe billions. Almost like they tweak their future by using other life forms. In this case Homosepians. (Humans because of the Abnormal Brain growth that doesn't match up Human evolution speeds).
The first time i watched this movie, it was very interesting. But after a while it did get a bit confusing but understood the movie to the full extent. But after a week had passed, i was getting non-stop deja-vu everyday for the past 2 weeks or so, and thinking back if it was related or not
They can move matter with their thoughts... The shapes made on the glass/screen are not drawn with touch, they are created with thought. If they have the ability to move particles so small by thought, then some thing bigger than a molecule would be easy.
The problem is, are they really using technology? Their ship are probably just solid rock of cocoon moving by mechanism we can yet to understand, just like their language that basically beyond our imagination
Very good movie. But if you are an extremely intelligent alien - don't you have the intelligence to teach some less intelligent beings (i.e. humans) by starting simple and step by step?
You assume they're very advanced species, what if they're not? No one knows if they're using technology at all, it's probably just their nest or cocoon moving mysteriously, everything about them is just alien to us
Intelligence is no use if you don't have the info. A human can run intellectual circles around an ant, but if it's the first one you've ever seen figuring out how they communicate is going to be challenging.
The issue is more the completely different existence levels here. Those aliens are in the fourth dimension (time) meaning their langage structure includes time in it. Not even mentionning not using the same mediums, not necessarily having the same sight wavelenghts etc... Humans are so inferiors to them that it is hard to put yourself on their level. (Try teaching a bat to write it s name 😅)
I've actually been thinking about this for a while. If we were to ever discover an intelligent alien species, it would be virtually impossible for us to communicate with them. our ways of communicating would be so different from theirs, it'd be the ultimate language barrier
@@ArranVid what if it's biologically impossible for us to learn each other's languages though? Like what if they communicate through sonar waves like dolphins or something

Best alien movie ever
I knew octopus and squids were aliens
Absolutely love this movie it’s so amazing and the soundtrack as well, as well as making language a literal weapon that can see the past and future and your able to change the future to your favorable outcome?? That’s an insane weapon, I would like to know what threat is so great that they need our help in the future
Jeremy Renner makes the perfect confused face here just a mix of several different emotions
Great movie.
Can you imagine how they could ever need OUR help? 🤣🤣 like have they ever seen what humans do on TikTok? Loool
Agreed, most humans are annoying and pathetic compared to the brilliance seen in other life forms in the universes.
The first time i watched this movie, it was very interesting. But after a while it did get a bit confusing but understood the movie to the full extent. But after a week had passed, i was getting non-stop deja-vu everyday for the past 2 weeks or so, and thinking back if it was related or not
This film is AMAZING
I MISS YOU SO MUCH !
0:02 Nice to see what Black Doom is doing after shadow gens, poor bud got tired of radical highway
Someone needs to tell me how these creatures built this technology that got them to earth!
They can move matter with their thoughts... The shapes made on the glass/screen are not drawn with touch, they are created with thought. If they have the ability to move particles so small by thought, then some thing bigger than a molecule would be easy.
They built robots which do all their work. Only need to be programmed.
We are close to that already.
No they don't
The problem is, are they really using technology? Their ship are probably just solid rock of cocoon moving by mechanism we can yet to understand, just like their language that basically beyond our imagination
They bed matter with will alone.
Such an amazing film, I absolutely loved it
Those are so cool looking
I like this movie a lot . Very Different in this genre . Background music , Concept and the shots are beautiful
Very good movie.
But if you are an extremely intelligent alien - don't you have the intelligence to teach some less intelligent beings (i.e. humans) by starting simple and step by step?
We as humans have much higher intelligence than any other known species on our planet and we can only train a miniscule amount of other species
@@huckleberryfinn-cz3gd no one said they're extremely intelligent, they could be equally intelligent to human but in very different way
The issue is more the completely different existence levels here.
I love this movie
Kenne den Film.Lief auf Netflix.Sehr zu Empfehlen.
I never really understood the movie nor why people liked it so much. It makes a lot of sense now! Definitely will be giving it a rewatch! :)
Extraordinary 😊❤ Adorable Fascinating Magnificent 😊
Finally a alien movie that ain tryna kill people 😂
Anyone have the title for this movie?
Edit: ohhh I’m dumb, it says on the video “arrival”.
Americans when they go overseas be like:
11/10 movie 💙
I've actually been thinking about this for a while. If we were to ever discover an intelligent alien species, it would be virtually impossible for us to communicate with them. our ways of communicating would be so different from theirs, it'd be the ultimate language barrier
We would eventually learn each other’s languages.
@@ArranVid what if it's biologically impossible for us to learn each other's languages though? Like what if they communicate through sonar waves like dolphins or something
@@TranscendentBurger we just gotta make translators, its easy enough to detect
Math is universal
We may not understand their language, but there is a good chance they will have computers, which will likely use code that is understandable to our computers.
I don't know whats going on here but those guys are adorable
WHERE I CAN SEE THIS MASTERPIECE
The timing of this movie was really something else tho! I was doing my degree in English linguistics and this came out! I was hyped as fuckkkk! 😂
SCP vibes
Yeah this is going on my movie bucket list alright
Yeah i asked asked some friends once if an alien like ET just showed up in your back yard what would you do. First response was charge him like a batter charges a pitcher who hit him with the ball, no mercy. Im dying 😂
"What are they saying?"
"I don't know, I don't speak Coffee-Stainese"
We should rethink eating octopus...
Movie name
Anybody know what title of movie where is big this things like in 2:25, i dont remember what is movie it was but it like 1990 years horror movie.
War of the worlds?
War of the worlds?
Cloverfield?
The mist?
Aliens be like: "wtf? Abott and Costello? We just told you our names. Mfers."
The alien thugshake
Alien: oh no way that's Hawkeye! Yooooo I love you in avengers!
They remind me of the spawn from the space guys in all tomorrows
absolutely love this movie
I really enjoyed this. But I also hope that people look at entertainment and see entertainment. Not try to make entertainment real life. People are too easily scared. While I understand that species come in different forms, the biggest problem is that people need to overcome fear.
Tbh instead of aliens invading earth and killing humans. Why not just make movies based on aliens just visiting earth and wanting to learn about each other, and possibly even becoming companions with humanity
We need more movies like that tbh
They look like the aliens from the movie monsters that takes place in south America
❤ Extraordinary 😊❤
