You said "Topical oestrogen in men has the opposite effect on the hairline than it has in women" - Are you saying it's hairline protective in women, or that it's damaging to the hairline in men? I also had no idea progesterone in the combined contraceptive pill would increase androgens, additionally I thought progesterone would compete for 5AR and decrease androgenic hormones (DHT). It would be informative to see a video covering these topics for women.
Progesterone can convert to DHT via androgen backdoor pathway
@monke2361 this would be mitigated if the patient was also on finasteride and especially dutasteride given that 5ar is still the enzyme involved in this synthesis
Women with AGA have a different hair loss pattern. Most don’t experience a receding hairline.
All I can say is be patient and take your medication. 90% of people see results after 100 days. Plus there’s hair products out there that help cover up thinning and balding spots. SureThick is nice for this it takes a few try’s to master applying it but I was out in a wet snow storm and it didn’t come off.
What type of estrogen?is it in natural form what about natural progesterone?or both in combination
Could you talk about the use of topical estrogen? like estradiol? and whether the topical, in contrast to oral estrogens, has possible effects on breast cancer. Thanks.
Hello doctors. Could you make a follow-up on topical finasteride? Your video is 3 years old now. I have been on topical for 1.5 year. Does it make sense to switch to oral?
Thank you for the show. Is there a hair/follicle test to know exactly what you're deficient in?
I had a punch biopsy done in a dermatologist office to get my diagnosis. Please see a dermatologist who specializes in hair loss. It’s an appointment that will give you the answers that you want.
Do a show on GELATIN and COLLAGEN consumption. Seems potential for hair benefits.
Is topical estrogen available in the US? Also Please do a video on the hair supplement Nutrafol. What are your thoughts about its efficacy.
The best vitamin for your hair is a PreNatal vitamin. Cost $. Nutrafol $$$$$$$
Are you saying that alfatradiol or 17-alpha-Estradiol have a bad effect on the hairline in men?
Cause I am using an alfatradiol and minoxidil topical solution alongside 1mg Finasteride every day for about 6 months now. Wondered if thats counterproductive.... I am a man (24 years old fine and thin hair genetically and naturally) with norwood 2 who has come a loooong way.
What additional meds or something we can do i am on 1.25mg minoxidil and 0.5mg dutastride
I added spironolactone at 100mg but I got sides maybe drop to 50mg maxx but is there any other thing, I dont mind I prefer mild feminization, just not as extreme as 100mg spironolactone really affected my ejaculation
trying to double my dutastride and minoxidil if my doctors let me and adding some other option idk what I did even 0.5mg estrogen
But what about the topical use of 17-a Estradiol, a non-feminizing estrogen, used in men?
Yes please, a video about using this topical
Not as effective blocking dht as topical finasteride according to studies
@@hellaslayin7175 Sure, but I'm interested in the effectiveness and long-term safety, both as an added and alternative therapy :)
