Refrain from excessive heat styling 5. Protecting your hair from the sun 6. Stay hydrated 7. Good diet 8. Proper sleep 9. Deep conditioning treatment. Early treatment is essential”....:🙄
    when 99.99% of health care providers don’t take you seriously and could care less about hair loss at its very early stage.

      When I was 20 I went to my Doctor. They didn't believe me and didn't even look at my scalp. I told him my hair looks thick but it used to be way thicker! I got him to look at my roots and he said "oh now I see"....he just did the thyroid and iron test. Told me it's all good and that was it....

Best of luck ladies. Minoxidil is kind of a drag in a couple ways but I can testify that it worked great for both me and my seventy five year old mom. Cheers

      Hello! I've been using 5% topical minoxidil for 2 years, all working really well, full head of hair, until 3 months ago when i started experiencing a lot of shedding, more than 500 strands a day, in the shower even more than that. Although that happened, i never stopped using it. I have to mention, my hair is long, and i noticed 1-2 inches long strands falling(from the root , with bulb). May I ask why can this happen? Thanks, your subscriber from the very first episodes!

      I tried 5% Minoxidil but started to feel lightheaded and signs of vertigo. So had to give it up after 2 months. I am now on 5% oral fanistride. I’ve had very good results in 4 months ..
      however listening to the videos about fanistride I’m worried about long term side effects of the tablets although I don’t feel any yet.

    At age 67, have short hair with diffuse hair loss. For at least a year, I have used the men's 5% foam once a day or once every two days. I spread it in my hands and rub it all over my scalp. Of course, I don't see any hair growth; however, the hair loss has been greatly reduced. My understanding is that you have to use it forever since your hair will revert to its usual amount of loss if you stop.

    Very good point using the term “ systemic”. What i think you should have warned people is that, using a systemic/ an oral version of minoxidil means that is will be metabolized in the liver, so that is a risk that people should be aware of. Am i right? Have a wonderful week-end... from Romania, Europe.

    I tried to tell my doctor when I really started to lose hair, and she thought it was my thyroid. Well I beat the thyroid thing, but my hair is still falling out. I went to a dermatologist and he said it was female pattern baldness, which I thought was strange since my dad and mom had full heads of hair up until their passing. Then there is this : I have a tendency to lose hair now more since I lost a child five years ago . Trauma . So when I have stress now I shed etc ..
    I had covid staring early July , no respiratory etc and hospital but REAL sick for about three weeks , bad stuff was two weeks .
    Then early September tons of hair loss and it’s still going as of October 5. I had been on good hair vitamins and MINOXIDIL for over a year but it’s possible it made my hair fall even more with the illness ? Hair that was slated to fall had not … until it did .
    My hair grows very fast so maybe coming out fast , but for how long ??🤔😣😣😣
    Anybody have any insight on this . Very depressing for sure .

    What do you think of the 2% solution twice a day? I tried the 5% (solution) and had a very dramatic increase in body and facial hair. On the 2% I don't at all have that problem, which is not surprising because in the US for the solution version the women's is 2%. Is it still helpful? I was diagnosed with iron deficiency, by the way, ferratin being 12 and have been supplementing that for several months. The shedding has gone down to half of what it was, do you think that's a normal response? It seems to be kind of slow to me. Thank you so much! Great videos!

      Weight loss can cause hair loss but the hair loss should stop and the hair will grow back once at a stable weight. If hair loss is not due to stress/weight loss/health challenges, then try Spironolactone 100mg twice a day.

    Thank you gentlemen for the informative video you created for us women! I use the men's 5% Minoxidil PG liquid. For me this is easier for me because the pipette helps deliver the product to the scalp with more precision. I didn't know that it was available in an oral form. Is there a risk to the liver and/or kidneys since it's systemic and goes through the gut? Do you recommend spironolactone to increase efficacy?

Since I put it all over I have had the worst dread shed and have lost much of my hair. Ha. I started to use my husband’s at first which is the liquid with the pippette. Then it made me itch. Now I mainly use the foam but here and there use the liquid which I think gets to my scalp more efficiently. Sorry for the long response. Just wondering how you’re doing now. Beat wishes

    My doctor told me to use the 2% for my female pattern hair loss because 5% minoxidil significantly increases facial hair (as a side effect)
    And I've been using 2% for 4 years now
    Should I switch to 5% ?

    • @TheHairLossShow
      @TheHairLossShow  4 года назад +3

      It acts where you apply it. So as long as it doesn't drip down to your face, it will be fine. I usually suggest 5% minoxidil for women that I treat.

    I am shedding A LOT on minoxidil. Maybe 1000 and over on wash days, and 500 on non-wash days. Currently in the shedding phase (week 5). My hair is already super thin so losing this much hair is alarming. Would you say this is normal or is this a bad reaction (if there is such?) I'm not over exaggerating as I have suffered with chronic TE for years and know what shedding is like.

      Jengira Begue Hang in there, dear! I lost hair exactly as you did( 1000 per wash, at least!) in the shedding phase that, for me, lasted 3 months! But i didn’t give up, and a have regrowth and now i only lose 10-20 hairs a day, and not more than 50 per wash!

    • @nonawolf7495
      @nonawolf7495 3 года назад +2

      That's great news - it means the minoxidil is working!!! When you first start, minoxidil "reboots" your growth cycle. The first 3 months are very difficult, but stay with it... you will start to see regrowth at around 6 months. Maximum regrowth is achieved at about 12 months. Congrats on the fact you are responding - it means your results will be good!!

      I actually have never heard that and have done so much research on hair loss. I'm not at all a doctor or expert, though. For me the problem is that when I used the 5% I had a dramatic increase in body and facial hair, I switched to the 2% (twice a day) and that problem is totally gone.

      10% minoxidil is excessive and doesn't contribute extra benefit. The curve flattens at around 5%. Beyond that, you're just using more drug.
      From Dr. Russell Knudsen's blog
      knudsen.com.au/hair-loss-treatment-with-generics/
      "there is NO evidence that any strength of minoxidil greater than 5% adds to effectiveness."

    I have tried it. Well, after applying it, I felt hade ache. And that's after every applying. Also it could affect on heart badly.
    And the worth thing, if you stop using it, all hair will fall. All.
