Thanks for sharing about the young patient. It's very difficult to consider long term consequences when you're a teenager suffering at that age from insecurity. Everything these days is about appearance to young people and you can understand the desperation.

I love your show and I have watched all your videos! You stressed that Finasteride gets stored in the body over time. Hence the following question: after having taken Finasteride for a full year (3mg/week), can I reduce the dosage for maintenance (for instance, 1.5mg/week) without loosing ground? Thanks.

I had a transplant with Dr Knudsen today. At the end I walked out knowing I would have hair for the rest of my life, way more than I’ve had for years and this hair will really change my life in so many ways but generally I feel so happy about the future.
In the future this type of surgery will be as common as dental surgery. I worked out that if I lived for 20 years the cost would be $2.74 a day, if I lived for 40 years it would be $1.37 a day. Who wouldn’t pay $1.37 to have a full head of hair ? Go for it guys, just do it and you’ll never look back.

Is it always necessary to use medical supplementation (topical minoxidil/finasteride) after hair transplant to maintain the post transplant hair lines and graft? Because i think that some patients choose to transplant because of being sick of using medical treatment everyday. Are there cases in which further supplementation is not necessary?

I’ve always had problems with depression and cripplingly low moods, and as I understand Fin and Dut can exacerbate or even cause these issues. I deliberated long and hard and decided to take the meds, because not doing anything when there is a simple thing that I could be doing is depressing in and of itself. Watching a part of my body, and a distinctive and attractive feature of mine wither is depressing on a few different levels. I am still depressed, I can’t say if I would be more or less so if I didn’t take the meds. I’m still concerned because I’m not certain that it’s working, but at least I’m trying something and it’s giving me hope.
