The King's Academy, a National Blue Ribbon, Christian school in South Florida, recently presented "Les Miserables" on its main stage. Starring TKA alum Nate Adams (Jean Valjean), senior Chase Pereboom (Javert), sophomore Kyle Martin (Marius), senior Lexi Graves (Eponine), junior Graham Popadic (Thenardier), senior Summer McCarty (Fantine), and junior Gracie O’Connor (Cosette), this performance showcased TKA’s young talent and was the last musical staged at the school’s Loveland Center. (In May 2017, King’s opened the Page Family Center for Performing Arts, a state-of-the-art, 800-seat theatre, at its West Palm Beach campus.)
TKA’s Conservatory of the Arts, an American High School Theatre Festival award-winning fine arts program, is led by Mr. David Snyder (Artistic Director, Musical Theater, Department Chair), Mrs. Sonia Santiago (Vocal Arts), Mrs. Cathy Higgins (Dance- Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz), Miss Riselle Portuondo (Dance- Ballet and Modern), Miss Sarah Fahey (Theatre Arts), Mr. Brad Majzner (Stagecraft), Mr. David Skinner (Instrumental Director), Mr. Wes Lowe (Assistant Band Director), Mr. Patrick Clifford (Strings), Mrs. Macey Norton (Video/Digital Arts), Mrs. Laura McFaden (Visual Art), Miss Mikah Adams (Popular Music, Elementary Choir), Mrs. Robin Phillips (Piano), and Mr. Gene George (Elementary Music Theory and Band).

This song adaptation is a little too pretty and clean for what it should be, (the dance, accents, acting, etc) but the set, music, and lights are beautiful

Yes, he was pretty good too. I enjoy his solid commitment to the character (drunk, sluggish gestures were funny) but the character should have more charisma/interaction with people! He's a con artist and a swindler. Dunno if that was the actor's or director's choice though.

Beautiful set and costumes, like the choreography.. but it’s WAY too fast. Piano is rushing! Slow the tempo please! RELAX and let the music happen! Lyrics get jumbled and lost, phrases get cut off, and the result just sounds awkward.

Yeah, this song really works best when it's given a little space to "breathe" rather than rushing through. The timing is important on this one more than probably any other song in the show

The leads are wonderful, Monsieur Thénardier is wonderfully slimey and his physicality is fanatic, Madame Thénardier is that nice combo of exasperated and a bastard herself. Not a fan of the chorus. They're too choral and too weak for this piece, lacking in character and feeling kinda toothless. The dancing and the costumes also really isn't doing it for me, too polished and flashy for the dump that is the inn.
