The King's Academy, a National Blue Ribbon, Christian school in South Florida, recently presented "Les Miserables" on its main stage. Starring TKA alum Nate Adams (Jean Valjean), senior Chase Pereboom (Javert), sophomore Kyle Martin (Marius), senior Lexi Graves (Eponine), junior Graham Popadic (Thenardier), senior Summer McCarty (Fantine), and junior Gracie O’Connor (Cosette), this performance showcased TKA’s young talent and was the last musical staged at the school’s Loveland Center. (In May 2017, King’s opened the Page Family Center for Performing Arts, a state-of-the-art, 800-seat theatre, at its West Palm Beach campus.)
TKA’s Conservatory of the Arts, an American High School Theatre Festival award-winning fine arts program, is led by Mr. David Snyder (Artistic Director, Musical Theater, Department Chair), Mrs. Sonia Santiago (Vocal Arts), Mrs. Cathy Higgins (Dance- Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz), Miss Riselle Portuondo (Dance- Ballet and Modern), Miss Sarah Fahey (Theatre Arts), Mr. Brad Majzner (Stagecraft), Mr. David Skinner (Instrumental Director), Mr. Wes Lowe (Assistant Band Director), Mr. Patrick Clifford (Strings), Mrs. Macey Norton (Video/Digital Arts), Mrs. Laura McFaden (Visual Art), Miss Mikah Adams (Popular Music, Elementary Choir), Mrs. Robin Phillips (Piano), and Mr. Gene George (Elementary Music Theory and Band).

I like how Fantine says "If there's a God above he'll let me die instead" and she dies shortly after this scene while Cosette is one of the few to survive the play.
"Lovely Ladies" breaks my heart -- especially when it slows down toward the end. This is excellent!
Also, this Javert is awesome!
I am shocked. After all, they are not professional actors and singers. But they play and sing like that. Incredible!
They are professional.
Don't underestimate high schoolers
The main parts are ok but the ensamble completely misses the meaning behind the song. It seems they all overact their lines too much meaning it’s a bunch of solos stuck together instead of a group effort.
Yeah no-
They are miked up. And the sound production is amazing. As singers they are average highschoolers. The choir is awful though. When they break into harmony the seconds are sharp. Also the choir or some sections of it don't keep time when they break into harmonies. When the choir doesn't have to break into harmony they are ok. The sound production is amazing though.
Fantine's arrest is the most underrated part of the whole show
Javert was played so well
4:05 OK I can feel my tears and my heart being shattered again.
I’m absolutely obsessed with this video- the acting for Javert and Fantine is awesome!
I live for the Javert and Fantine bit
This actually is quite professional. Thanks to all!
THE CHILLS!!!! THE CHILLS!!!! BRAVO LADIES!!
I am blown away. AMAZING
This is so good!! I just wish they added the sailors solo bits
YESS VAL JEAN!
Val Jean here is amazing
how old are these kids? 16-17? they have amazing voices.
Well they are in high school so between 15 and 18
The one who plays Valjean is an alumni of the school
I wish I had a voice like fantine for our roleplay 🥺
10 francs will save my poor cosette I got chills omg
Everyone is so cool!
Javert was so good
True
Needs more power in his voice and lesser growl. But he is good
Everyone did so good! Love seeing other groups performance😀 Keep up the great work!
I want to go to their school and study there! I really wanted to be a part of this play :(((
I love the costume designs🖤
Wow! That was impressive!
What about I dreamed a dream??

MissRainbowSunshine 101 In the Broadway or musical version, when she gets booted from her job, that's when she sings I Dreamed A Dream. Not when she becomes a prostitute like in the movie.
MissRainbowSunshine 101 s
That was very inspiring.
The choreography is nice
chapeau
They wore so brave 😍😎🤗
The part in the 2012 movie, where they pull out Fantine’s Teeth, I always closed my eyes at, so I wanted to see it happen in the play, so it’s not as disturbing
Gacha_ Wolfy YT it doesn’t happen in the play
Is the girl who sings, "He's got a kid, sends her all that she can!" the same girl who played Amnesia in the 2019 "Aida"?
I would've loved to see Fantine going through most of the number with a full head of hair, then maybe to be thrown into the mist and emerge hair-chopped, from the fog to look more confused than joining in on the dance.
Loved the enthusiasm though from all the performers.
Best Les Miserables performance ever!!
Are you mental?
Hayden Barnes I know! I think they are mental! Lovely Ladies are not supposed cute and perfect. This was the freaking French Revolution!!!!!
Karinas Music true! Why are the lovely ladies TWERKING
kina jane ikr !
@@karinajaneconolly7531 For High Schoolers, I think they did very well. Maybe it wasn't award worthy, but they still did very good.

Les Miserables Movie
Is it just me or does Fantine’s actress look like Patti LuPone
