A lot of European game developers seem to struggle with the proper, growly sound of North American trains and trucks I've noticed and it really breaks immersion for me. I live about a mile and a half away from the CN line in my city and when a train with a trio of GEVO's comes through at run 8, you can hear the roar even with the windows closed. These things are absolute beasts in real life.
I agree, I live across the street from the main rail line into port of Vancouver here in BC , when those GEs come chugging or those emds come screamin it sure fills my house with the sound and I love it!
Theres a NS main line about 2 miles from my house, you can hear the GEs easily at night when there is low traffic that doesnt obscure and break up the traveling noise of them.
There’s a CN line like 1 and a half miles from my house and when you hear an ACe goin by, you know it’s an ace, or even a gevo, either way them suckers ROAAAR
Not really. Even when they've went and recorded the 1:1 prototypes (Caltrain, Amtrak, etc) the sounds are still shit. Obviously their audio engineers are just incompetent.
But they won’t, because they know the community will mod. Why would they work harder when they know people are going to buy the product regardless and just fix the shortcomings
Thank you for taking a look at the mod! I was a bit skeptical on how it would sound, as all I really did was add a tiny bit of bass to the original engine sounds using Audacity, but I'm glad you like it!
Well we know DTG just don't understand what simmers want, although they enjoy telling us what we think we want, but to give them some credit, I just watched a run of the SouthEastern High Speed in the 395, and in cab sounds were actually pretty fab. Lots of bumps, rumbles and vibrations when going full tilt, and metal on metal going round the tighter turns. When they've done that 10 times in a row with new releases, then I'll consider buying it.
The thing that baffles me about the ES44C4 is that they were so excited to show off the new horn sound and they showed it off on stream and it is probably one of the worst horns in TSW. Like what?
That horn is 70 times better sounding now bell sounds great now can't wait! Nice notch 2 sounds like Power now unlike that flat stale sound like running an electric car default. DTG really needs to visit the United States and see American Locomotives up close impersonal and maybe they will understand what American Railroading is all about. Watching a video on youtube doesn't do any justice as to what you experience as in person, when the ground starts vibrating around you and you slowly can't feel your heart beating with you hand on your chest only shows you that you're experiencing something truly Amazing in life. This Modder already did a Super hell of a great job already if he could just add Radio chatter in cab that would take the sound to a 100% level through the roof for me making it feel so much more realistic especially if he could make it that you could turn the radio volume up or down. haha love the sound making your one of a kind the silly plucky comic relief type which makes your video's so truly enjoyable to watch I never thought I'd be more anxious for a new video as I look forwards every day at seeing something New. It's really nice seeing American Freight doing speeds higher that 35mph haha My only little gripe I have with DTG on American mainline train loads is I always feel they give us the bare minimum of needed Power for pulling and what I mean about that is when running a schedule lets say up grade and you have to be in Notch 8 and your locomotive is really slowly gaining speed or staying at a certain speed it's hard Not to think if this was real life what you would do if one of the Locomotives in your set-up had a malfunction as you would lose power now being stuck and waiting forever as in Real Life many Mainline units carry 2 or 3 other units in the train for a lot of different reasons some of the reasons Weight to spread out the Traction effort, More Front-end-brakes, Back-up power ect. which I honestly don't believe DTG understands this, given 2 more loco's doesn't mean they have to be running as it would give players more control as if they needed more power or power for the dynamic brakes, it just makes sense I'm I wrong.
It looks good, although it continues to disappoint the recycled and unrealistic sounds, really if it lowers all motivation to play it, on PC will it also come with that lousy optimization?
They said the reason they have to recycle sounds is because of licensing issues. Thr creators are British and they said it's hard to get access to record the locomotives in the US, I would assume the big corporate railroads are touchy about people recording and taking pictures of their equipment!
@@TBoy205 first time the entire folder then I separated it out. Then I tried the same concept with the pak folder itself. I’ll try it again since this is my first time having this issue because I definitely didn’t have it with TSW2
I got it working as strange as it may sound they probably at some point blocked it so you couldn’t do any type of mods until the actual release(got it a day before the 6th)
Why can't DT get sounds off the internet/RUclips? Could you or someone send this to DTG and show them this?? If this guy can do this in a day, then why can't DTG do it with more time?? Unbelievable. As a console player always getting the shaft.
DTG doesn't care. Cash grab. That's all. Recycle content as long as possible & create new assets with as little effort (money) as they can. This is what comes of having zero competition.
@@noway9880 Well they do have competition. And it keeps increasing. If they reeally aree creating new assets with as little effort ass possible they aren't doing a good job. Fixing BNSF licensing issues, new locomotive models and sounds, new lighting. I know there are some terrible add ons like cane creek but to say DTG doesn't care is just not honest.

I love that fact that us players make betters sounds than the company itself, if DTG actually tried hard, they could make some great sounds.
Exactly, they act like planes and sound equipment aren’t a thing lmao
Not really. Even when they've went and recorded the 1:1 prototypes (Caltrain, Amtrak, etc) the sounds are still shit. Obviously their audio engineers are just incompetent.
No sound can be 100% accurate because that would just take too much effort and resources and be unable to meet whatever deadline is set.
@@potatoman451 I know they can't be 100%, but if they actually try, they could have some better sounds than what we have.

@@BritishRail60062 Yes this mod is so much better than default
This is great! I didn't know you could mod anything in Train Sim World. Love it.
Unfortunately it's PC only, so us console players don't get any mods, so were stuck with DTG sounds.

It’s worse than the Caltrain P2s with obvious looping
Nothings worse than the CSX AC4400CW horn and the vacuum engine sounds 😭
@@loganfisher7074 I have to agree. The AC4400CW sounds more like a Class 56 than a GE locomotive. Listen to one on here and see what I mean.

I’d say the only thing they could do better with this mod is make the traction motors louder, cause they are loud af irl
There's definitely going to be an engine sound mod at some point
I play on PS5 and the good thing with the normal default one is that it does have that woop of the compressor
That sounds so good! It’s a shame I’m on Xbox or I would download it in a heart beat haha
You could technically try to adjust audio settings to increase bass somehow. The good news is you could edit the sound in post processing.
Hey there! You probably won't see this because I'm one year late, but what are your graphics settings?
Nice!
Yup, 100%sounds better! I dont know why but the BNSF locos sounds like Tesla cars in TSW3 ... :(
Glad it didn't take long, I could hardly stand it before
Is there a way to do this with the Xbox version not the console but the pc version from Xbox ultimate?
Nice presentation. Thanks
sounds much better
The horn is in pain like its saying ow
Does it work if you use pc xbox store to play your gamev
Does this fix the horn glitch?

Will this sound pack work in TSW4?
