- My driver lock and unlock button was not working so before buying a new one, I decided to take my old one apart and see what was wrong. It turned out it just needed to be cleaned up. also, my passenger front window used to roll all the way down even when i didnt press the button ALL the way down and the cleaning fixed that too! Enjoy...
So glad I found this video. I was about to drop $150 for a replacement. Just cleaned it using a wire brush and now it’s good to go.
Do you have to remove the whole door panel to remove the switch?

Dude you just saved me over $88 yes it took over an hour with q-tips and alcohol and the door tear down but I thank you very much 🤙🏼😎👍🏼

Just saved me a hundred bucks! Took my switch apart and cleaned it and everything works again. What’s crazy is it didn’t even look that corroded, but I guess it was. Excellent video!
Thanks for the video walk through! I just got mine done in less than 10 minutes thanks to the thoroughness of this video. I also found using small gauge electrical fork connectors (the crimp on type) makes easy work of all the small plastic pins. The fork connector acts like a small pry on each individual tab. Get the angles right and the entire things just flops out 😂
Thanks! I had an issue where drivers window, as well as the master lock / unlock wouldn’t work. Took it apart, used some CRC QD electric cleaner with a high quality microfiber. Cleaned the hell out of the board (you could see the dirt on the contact). Everything works great. Saved me a solid $100-$150.

I was going to buy a new switch until I saw this video. Works perfectly! I used electronics cleaner and a small wire brush. My window switches barely worked and lost the ability to use unlock. After cleaning, the buttons work effortlessly.
Thanks for the video, fixed my 2005 GMC Sierra. I did have to remove one screw from the inside but I was able to get to it by just loosening the right side and bottom of the door panel and I was able to reach the screw with a long extension, didn't have to remove the whole panel.
Could anyone tell me the wires that power the drivers lock/ unlock button. It’s the only one not working
Same problem on my '04, carefully took the module apart using several screwdrivers to wedge tabs apart and clean both sides of circuit board and the black tabs on the green silicone pad with rubbing alcohol and a q tip, reassemble and hopefully you'll save yourself 200.00+ , Thanks for the advice, saved me money , but more importantly a week without my window mirror controls, My module came apart without having to take the buttons off

THIS VIDEO SAVED ME $250. This worked for me. My locks, mirror and windows stopped working on the driver side. I disassembled and followed the suggestions in this video and honestly I was surprised that it worked. Thanks!

FYI I used a regular toothbrush not to hurt the contacts or board. I couldnt find 100% rubbing alcohol but I used 91% and it got the job done. CAUTION: Take your time taking the switch apart. it would be easy to break the tabs that hold the boards in place. It took me about an hour to diagnose and hour to break down switch and clean and put back together.
A pencil eraser will work just as well in removing the built up carbon on the contact points.
My 05 suburban is having problems with the drivers side. The window and mirror lose power and I have to manually lock the door. But the switches still work for everything else. I hope I can try this and fix it
My 03 just lost all power to the switch , speaker works but nothing else ..it started out intermittently then every now an then if I opened the door a bit I'd see power to the switches lights then just stopped completely idk wtf it is

2005 Cad ESV 245k miles. Driver Pwr switch didn't unlock. Was about to buy AMZ A Premium new switch $105 but then I saw this vid. Going use can air first if needed then the alcohol and soft toothbrush. It's worth a shot to save a tank of gas. Thank you
My 2007 Avalanche switches are "chattering" and draining the battery. same problem? it stops when the key is turned on but then returns.
I had that issue, changed out the whole assembly and it stopped, passenger door module that reads the key fob went bad

Just fixed my 2003 Yukon XL driver side drivers window switch. Works just like New!!!! I did break the front mount on the cover over the switches when removing the whole unit from the door. I would have had to remove the panel so I could get up in there and take out a small screw. It fit back in nice and tight though so I think I'm ok.....was thinking if it was loose...i could throw some hot glue on it and quickly put it back in place....but it fit tight enough I think it will be fine.
This fixed my driver's window on my 2003 Silverado 2500!
So only my driver side door lock/unlock doesn't work. The passenger side will lock/unlock so I know it's not the switch, the latch is new so it's not that. Could it be this board, or could it be bad wires in the harness?

I had the same issue with the mirror controls so I have already but this is good advice. Now I've built a home made remote start system which works well but I want to add the ability to unlock and lock the doors (Without sending serial messages to the bcm). It seems this would be the best place to do it. I'm hoping I can solder small wires to those test points you can see in your video to trigger the buttons as if they had been pressed. crossing my fingers that it will work, but I don't see why it wouldn't unless it activates the security trigger and starts blasting the horn LOL

Have this same exact model, can’t see how you put it back together maybe my phone, but on a side note, my panel is broken, how can I fix it? The grey part that holds the switch in place. They don’t sell a whole replacement for the arm. Ideas??? Taped it into place with duct tape but it comes unglued. Switch is not working now.

Check and see if the other windows are getting power first.. you would have to pull the door panels and check the 2 wire plug going to the window motor with a test light or volt meter.. when you push up on the button, one wire will get power, when you push down the other wire will get power..
Hey, Pry up the outer shell towards you, use canned air to clean without taking it apart! Worked on my 2005 Tahoe.

Did all that changed fuses and relays under seat and changed main 125amp fuse under hood??? Cleaned all the boards and terminals too? Any other ideas?

John Rougeou not to bad, they put off if you use a small pick or flat head. Should still work without it too however if you press it with something

im having problems whit my 06 silverado , the pasenger door open light is always on
Might check the door latch ..sometimes they get dirty and you gotta oil em back up in the motor part , it's got a clock type wheel that clicks when closed or open if it gets dirty it sometimes stop recognizing whether its closed or not

Gm issues never end. My 05 yukon power locks quit working, only locking worked. I was not able to unlock from any door.
I pulled and wiggled all the fuses and relays, under hood also and now it all works fine.
Also a bit of good advice to to all the Chevy owners to put a new ground on the engine to body. Mine was completely corroded off on the firewall.
