- I joined Inside Politics with Dana Bash on CNN today to talk about Trump's seemingly unbreakable grip on Republican voters, and what Iowa voters told me first-hand about why they support him.
Ignored, forgotten, betrayed. He totally gets it.
They can feel this, but they probably don't know the impact of the 2008 financial crisis on their well-being in the subsequent decades. Obama was blamed for saving the banks, but the alternative he faced was a depression greater than the Great Depression. Minorities and foreigners are blamed but really they lack the influence to alter the US economy the way it was changed. In the end it was the lack of regulation of financial institutions that led to their current misery.

Hey Frank Luntz, I have a Bachelor's degree and I have been employed in my position for 13 years and I voted for Trump twice. By the way, check out the voting results for 2016 and the percentage of college educated voters who voted for Trump.

Lack of higher education doesn't mean a lack of intelligence or ability. Common sense, having practical knowledge, and being genuinely down to earth and understanding is not something many higher educated individuals can claim by default. Which is proven over and over again.
To address something else, most Conservatives and even Republicans seem to be sick of hollow libertarian arguments for having a hands-off approach when it comes to detrimental and, at times, even hostile corporations.

I’d argue that using the government to attack corporations for their ideological positions is consistent with Trump and the GOP and inconsistent with Democrats. If this Lutz’s analysis of why DeSantis is unpopular, then it’s inconsistent and contradictory with how most Republicans act and vote.
