    That was a pretty good conversation. I'll have more of that, please. And by the way, Reagan did leave office in 1988 with a 63% approval rating, but his average for that year was 53%.

      luntz a dingus but i feel compelled to defend his shoes. I wouldn't wear them, but let the man live, he was clearly trying to say that his life is a cesspool of sadness and the shoes lift his spirits but Bill wouldn't let him finish.

    That was an interesting dialogue to say the least. It's a bit scary thinking that a great country of 320 million has been reduced down to a choice between who Hillary and Trump is a lesser of two evils.

      ***** That is exactly why we have to go with Trump. Media created the circus and lies about Trump. Its all to promote Hillary Clinton. The media is so biased it's not funny.

      +BM Trump created his own shit-storm by sticking his foot in his mouth every step of the way. The media has every right to jump all over him for the stupid shit that he says. Just like they have the right to jump all over Hillary for being negligent with classified emails, being too hawkish and being a terrible excuse for a democrat. Trump supporters chalk every criticism of Trump up as media bias, but you fail to realize that the media criticizes Hillary too; even in left-leaning media outlets like The Huffington Post, Mother Jones, etc. But the difference is you don't hear people on the left crying about it.

    I actually agree with what Frank said.... the US wants to see a third party candidate. I also think its funny how much of the rest of the conversation was wasted on the tired Democrat vs Republican fight. The two party system is an out of date generic label people are told they need to fit into. We divide a nation in two and tell everyone that other side is wrong on everything by picking the wrong side and we wonder what is wrong. We are divided and told to ignore the other persons perspective that is what is wrong. We need to update the version of our political program. IMHO True or false, either or, positive or negative is an oversimplification that is an outdated way of thinking and looking at things. We need to stop thinking binary and start thinking quantum.

    • @writerconsidered
      @writerconsidered 8 лет назад

      Perhaps you need to re-adjust your periscope a little. We are playing long ball. The reason third parties don't win or even register is because we won't invest in them because they can't win. So voting third party is an investment in the future of our government. Stop thinking in direct wins and losses and start thinking in where you want to move this country. I'm voting jill stein this election, can she win ? Hell no. But can it push the party and start the break up of the 2 party system ? Hell yea.

    • @Amberscion
      @Amberscion 8 лет назад +2

      He is simply going by the historical evidence. No third party candidate has ever had a chance at being elected. The rules are stacked against them. Stacked against them by both the Republicans and the Democrats, neither of which wants to see a valid third party arise because it might be enough like their own party to split the votes and hand the elections to the other party.
      If Bernie had run as a third party candidate a Trump victory would be guaranteed, because Bernie and Hillary would split the Democratic vote, while Trump would still get all of the Republican votes. Just look back at the other cases of third party candidates whose votes, added to the party who they most looked like (and this is primarily Democrats) would have led to a win rather than a loss.
      In recent history both Ross Perot and Ralph Nader could have been spoilers. Nader in 2000, had all his votes gone to Gore, might have changed the course of what was a very close run and legally contested race. Perot in 1992 got 18.9% of the popular vote, adding those to Bush, Sr. may have swung the election away from Clinton. It would have certainly given him a strong lead in the popular vote, although I don't have the state by state figures to know if it would have changed the electoral vote count.
      The reason the Tea Party has been so very successful is because it has remained a movement within the Republican party, and has not tried to split away to become a third party. If it did so, the Tea Party and the Republican party would split the right wing votes and the Democrats would win more elections.

      Anything that came out of Luntz's mouth, if you agreed with it, then you should stop and analyze what emotional chains the man was yanking, Because he ONLY uses phrases that are intended to get a knee-jerk reaction out of you, instead of actual mental thinking.

      +Bobs Black His real intent has become evident after he concedes. He has managed to push the Democratic platform way to the left, more so than would have been the case had he not participated. He even earned key concessions from the establishment, such as appointing a hand full of progressives to the DNC platform. He has vowed to continue to encourage people to get involved in the political process. He's not going anywhere. In fact, I believe he's paving the way for an unprecedented grass roots movement, by way of the left.

      Their sycophantic pavlovian behavior at every snarky and sarcastic comment Maher makes is indeed sad and pathetic. But if you think about it, this is why its impossible for a guy like Bill Maher to ever be open minded about opposing points of view. He literally has a weekly audience stroking his ego and cheering everything he says, and then booing everything a non-liberal says.

    • @bradscott3165
      @bradscott3165 8 лет назад +1

      How is Maher a liberal? Hillary is a neocon and he obviously is jizzing all over her. Maher is a conservative twat who is under the impression he's still relevant.

    • @TurdDoodlesworth
      @TurdDoodlesworth 8 лет назад

      He doesn't have a weekly audience, it's literally daily. Every time he posts on social media, they jack him off. Every time he goes out to do an event, they jack him off. Every time he meets his friends, they jack him off. Every time he goes out for a walk and someone recognizes him, they jack him off. He's a text book case of a narcissist and every one around him enables him.

    Reagan's approval ratings when he left office might have been 61%, but his average was 52.8. George W. Bush did better at 62.2. The highest average approval rating for a modern President was Lyndon Johnson, who had an average rating of 74.2. Next is John F. Kennedy, with 70.1.

    • @kewgardensstation
      @kewgardensstation 8 лет назад +1

      ***** Surprising, huh? But that's an average. Johnson's lowest ratings came in August of 1968, after he had announced he would not run for re-election, after the absolute rout of the Tet Offensive, around the same time Hubert Humphrey was nominated for President by the DNC, and The Chicago Riots. Only three months later, Johnson would retire from politics, and Richard Nixon was elected 37th President of the US.

      He's going to actually make progress unlike these career politicians. He's going to clean up Washington and actually make America first. He's going to hit China hard on trade for their constant manipulation on their currency. He's going to place tariffs on imported goods from China, Korea, Japan and Mexico. He's going to cut spending on overseas policing of countries we shouldn't be in. He's going to cut taxes across the board including a no income tax to the lowest tax bracket. He's getting rid of Obamacare and Common Core. He's going to reform the VA system. He's going to make Veterans and our Military a priority unlike Hillary who's indifferent to the chaos that's going on with the VA and doesn't make our Veterans a priority. He's not going to waste our tax dollars on climate change, he's also not going to go on a wreckless spending spree like Obama has in the last 7 years by hiking up Health care costs, increasing Food Stamps, making bad trade deals and giving money away to countries overseas every time a disaster strikes that has nothing to do with us.
