I agree with the above replies, what I see as the biggest problem is justice is not being served. our cities were burned and looted people walking out of store with full baskets, and being allowed to get away with it. The withdrawal from Afghanistan was total shit show. The border wide-open & all they keep talking about is January 6th. All of this is so off point people now have no faith in democracy and definitely not this administration that is seen by many as total failure

He’s protecting what McConnell did -which was wrong. He led s party of cowards. I see McConnell as our worst player. He wasn’t ever working for the people. He is responsible for alot of the hatred that came then and has only got worse- leading us to a candidate like Trump. McConnell came out when Obama won to show his displeasure and rally support AGAINST a president who won. McConnell should never have shown his racism. That -in my opinion- is behind these particular statements. And McConnell deserves what happened to his party because of what HE did. What Trump did is worse. He committed crimes. Absolutely correct. He also said "and if you don't fight like hell, when you wake up in the morning you won't have a country."
Yet it troubles me that so many people were prosecuted and jailed. I say that because I believe that these people actually thought that our country and way of life and our "almost sacred" right to have free and fair elections, had been compromised. And that the perpetrators were about to get away with it! Yes, Trump had the crowd riled up! (I assume the ones who weren't buying Trumps bullshit, did not participate in the violence.)
The constitution warns of this sort of thing happening and provides a pathway for Americans to fight, if necessary, to protect our rights even if we have to fight our own government. Should they have believed that President Trump was was not serious about how dire the situation was and that he was just kidding? Well, he was our President! If they shouldn't have believed him, who should they believe?
The one who should be in jail is Trump, not the ones who followed his orders. He should have, at the very minimum, been barred from ever again holding public office.
If you or I went into a crowded theater and yelled "FIRE" when there was no fire, we would have to go to jail, especially if it resulted in people being killed or injured or there was property damage or loss of income because the theater had to give refunds to everybody who bought tickets. There would likely also be a stipulation that in the future, the perp is not allowed in the theater anymore or risk being arrested again. Some sort of punishment would be given. Right? But, you wouldn't punish the people who bought the movie tickets! You punish the person who yelled "fire."

Frank Lutz is the guy who gave a former backbencher named Newt Gingrich the vocabulary to allow him to portray Democrats not as the "loyal opposition," but as the enemy. As in, a mortal threat to America that needed to be opposed at all costs. Luntz helped plant the seeds of deep division and polarization that took off in the 1990s. He provided the accelerant for the fire that Republicans lit at that time, turning neighbor against neighbor with "wedge issues." He typifies the situational ethics that Republicans began using for political advantage in the Reagan era, refining and weaponizing it. He has zero credibility and a huge amount of culpability for today's dysfunctional and damaging politics. The living embodiment of the term "partisan hack."

Immaturity, retardation , mineral deficiencies, incestuous parentage, cult imprisoned persons; is that what has happened to these Americans that they don't appreciate freedom? They seem resentful, ungrateful and vengeful, wallowing in victimhood , which is DJT's essence. It makes sense they would latch on to him as their leader. Frank Luntz was on the cutting edge of how to manufacture a narrative to sell to these people so they would continue to vote against their interests. I used to work in marketing. I know just how these Lutz people work. They find code words and key phrases to get people to open up to them. Trump does this too, but he does it out of a reptilian instinct instead of using psychological principles.
These 74 million have been sold a lemon, they're going for the con, the flimflam. But key to the agenda that is being sold is that it is someone else taking their shit. The communist professors are stealing their children and indoctrinating them has changed to the elites are taking babies and farming them for hormones. The crazy started with people like Luntz. Where was the GOP's sense of "let's move on" during the Clinton impeachment, for (what seems to me to be) a lesser and more personal infringement? When did any of them say, "Clinton has lied under oath about his personal sex life, but who doesn't"? There was less to reconcile in that case; there were no people dead as a direct result in that case. So, why the double standard?
