Actually a great ball, watching them fly through the air is unreal. Performance wise they are comparable to a prov1x left dash, been using both for about 2 months and very similar stats. 4 handicap 👍
I bought a box of these and absolutely loved them, super long and fantastic on/around the greens. Eventually lost them all and haven't been able to find another box at any golf shop since. If I see them again in my locals I will definitely buy more and continue to use them.
Ping had a similar ball some time ago. I'm not a fan of the AD333, I have played with the QStar and the Zstar both are good balls. I wouldn't use the 2 coloured ball, great if you're placing or putting on the green but off-putting when not aligned up.
I would love to see you do more in depth reviews on the ball's you test. Many people don't know the differences in a golf ball. Like what is the ball designed to do? Spin, flight, etc Who is the ball designed for? Keep up the great work boys summer is right around the corner.
In New Hampshire 🇺🇸 they literally fly off the shelves. Very popular with the newbies. I think it’s great because when my friends find them in the woods to give them to me !
Hi James, a video I would like you try and put together or get some data on is how temperature impacts on ball flight and distance especially in the winter when we’re not getting the roll but are we also losing carry, and how much?
Top video gents. I use the Q star tour in white and they’re only $45 a box here in Oz, not the £40 that James mentioned 😮 I’ve not seen many use the colour combos but they’d be great for the short game and putting. Keep up the great work 👍👏
My Son and I used the Blue/Yellow and Orange/Yellow Divide balls recently. We really liked them - played down at several courses around Hilton Head and picked these up at a little shop off island. I was able to get nearly a full round out of my first one then hooked it into a water hazard.... I found them to hold up very well.
You and chris have said in a few videos that you cant clean and place in the rough. Tubes and ange golf life did a rules video with golf england and the rules have changed to allow you to clean and place in the rough now. Hope this helps. Keep up the great content (17:25 onwards in their video)
I have played with these the orange and yellow and love them. In the summer I felt I get a bit more distance with it as well. I don’t use the alignment just think it’s super fun and love seeing it in the air
Ive played these when they came out (the yellow/reds) and liked them. But my playing partner saw them and immediately thought they weren't for playing, and only practice balls...It took all round & showing your video to convince him that they were indeed made to play a round with!
I started to use these and seem to favor the yellow and orange. The yellow and blue has been hard to see when blue is face up. I don't use them for alignment because I never use ball alignments on the green as I find it to be a distraction.
Those are great balls. The yellow and orange are very easy to see, same performance you'd expect from Srixons premium lines, and still a touch cheaper than some other premium balls. Not a fan of the blue and yellow but the orange are fantastic.
Great ball for winter, saw the Z star and Z star xv in yellow/ white divide yesterday. Tried buying them but was told they can’t be sold until January 21
These golf balls are not readily available in Canada at the moment…out of stock pretty much everywhere! I planned on buying a dozen and giving a sleeve each to three family members while keeping one for myself, but no luck unless I pay a premium to ship from USA. They do seem great for putting and chipping practice. I will definitely try them on the course if I get my hands on some. Testing by some of the “experts” suggest matte finish balls spin much less in wet conditions. In your and Chris’s testing, did you find that to be an issue for the Divides vs. the standard glossy finish on the white Q Star Tour balls?
Just bought a box with a voucher for my birthday (no cash spent😉) and I have to say the yellow and orange colour way is excellent in low light winter golf conditions, not been put off by alignment at all. Definitely my new winter ball
I’ve tried these yes. I have the red and yellow ones. Love the feel and performance but incredibly have struggled to find them on the course. This was start of winter with peak leaf litter so am due to try them again. I do agree that they are perfect for short game practice though. 😀👍
I found one early this season and kept it in the bag for putting .. especially in the scramble outings we play in. Since it's the only one I have, that's all I use it for .. lol.
Unable to find them in Southern California...play green Volvik...wanted to try yellow orange in Q star for some more spin...can't see past 150yds now days switched to color balls....yellow orange green easier to find.
I used the red/ yellow one and really liked it. It was easy to see in flight but I found it hard to see on the ground I even walked past it a couple of times in the fairway.
Played the Srixon Qstar tour ball last year which I liked very much and changed to a ball Clubhouse golf were selling at a very good price. It was the Srixon trispeed a 3 piece ball which performed very well but Srixon don't have it listed and the only information is the trispeed which was introduced years ago. Worth trying for the performance and the price.
Ping had them years ago.i have just got a dozen of the yellow and orange .I love them for putting and I place them yellow up on the tee 👍they have been out of stock at most places
Played them this summer. I really had fun with them. I would have played them more but they were so difficult to find in the US. So after getting my first 12 they were simply tough to buy, especially the yellow orange colors. Yellow blue were more available. Now I am playing Snell MTB-X optic yellows now
I found a new red and yellow one - used it on the next hole and lost it in the only slightly longer grass just off the fairway!!!! It just disappeared - felt good with the driver though.
I use them for putting practise, there awesome to show the roll end of end when you hit it well. My favourite part of the video was Chris’ pre shot routine, it looks like the video buffing.
Srixon Quarter Divide ? 4 different colors ? Or a Srixon Axis Divide ? ( lines at North South, East West, then at 45* left and right off each center point or top and bottom Axis …… Would allow the golfer to pick a line up point as it lies on 2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th,7th,etc etc approach shots! ……. Is that too much ??? Lol
I play the divide ball and love it. Great for feedback. Soft off the face. Especially when chipping and putting. And just really fun to watch fly through the air and spin. Makes it so much more fun to watch.
Ping Eye 2...actually have one in orange/yellow around here somewhere. Kinda like the idea of it on the Q Star tour. Not Z Star performance, but more performance with lower compression is ideal for a lot of folks.
Truly appreciate and enjoy the videos you and Chris put out, James. Thank you. I personally use the Cut DC golf ball. It's a 4 piece ball for $29.99. I love the mid control and greenside control I get with the ball. But I'd love to know what a pro like you and Chris think of that Golf ball. It is not as long maybe? I'm not really sure? Please try it, if you have a chance. Keep up the great work James, Cheers!
Prefer long irons to woods, what is the best driving iron you have tested?, i am mid handicap, currently 15, but played to 12 most of the season. Been thinking of getting one, currently 4 iron is lowest club I have.
I found one on the course & then used it on my next round & really enjoyed it! I've used the Q-star tour before so it felt familiar. I usually play the Z-star XV & I didn't notice a big difference.
I'm currently using the Q star divide in the Yellow /Orange format, Like the ball flight, also like the way the divide helps to align putts, I found they did not give me enough control on wedge shots. More to the point, I think the Srixon soft feel has better stopping power on pitch shots and are cheaper at £19-99 a dozen and you don't feel as gutted when you lose one
I use the Srixon Q-Star Tour and really like it. I play Ping clubs and would like to know where Chris got his stocking cap? I can’t find one like it in the US.
Having found one of these in the wild I can say I wouldn't play them even though I prefer a yellow or green colour ball For practice I can see the benefits from them with alignment and feedback (spin and roll in short game/putting) but would find then off putting if you are not able to lift and clean
When I deep Color Balls like that I get the feeling they will feel like Putt Putt Balls. Rubber Bouncy Feel. Also that Dual Color balls would screw me up.. I am old school One color ball please. I am same type of Person that has to remove the flag to put when on the green.. leaving it in just feels weird as well.
I've used the yellow/orange balls for putting practice, have never used them on the course, You could try the Seed 'Jack" ball. is supposed to help alignment
I pitched one of these in on Saturday from 30 yds so now it’s my fav ball! I prefer a Maxfli Tour but I bought a ton of orange/yellow Divides since I’m blind. Still can’t find it underwater
I found one once a red and yellow one and it just reminded me of the old fashioned rhubarb and custard sweet and with a 23 handicap I didn’t really experience the the benefit of the ball. I also play the AD333 and the Kirkland Signature so for us mere mortals how don’t hit balls like you boys and don’t want to spend big on balls how about a video on the difference between those two. Wanted to mention that I love the banter between you two 👌🏻
Not played with these as of yet, cannot find readily in my area here in the states. I usually play the proV1x. Tried the Srixon Soft Feel the past fall, given 2 sleeves at an outing, was quite impressed with flight, feel, and distance. This concept/style came out years ago from Ping, cannot recall the year(s). I actually have a couple of the originals loose, and a brand new unopened set of 4.. These are in my ball display case.
I was given a sleeve of these and the reason I dont use them is because i dont want to lose them! Like a lot of folks, I use them to practice putting only but use the zstar on course
love Z-Star when on 50% off.....also really like Srixon soft for cooler weather and early mornings.... interested in trying these divided balls...cheers from Canada
What I would like to see. Concerning golf balls, we each have our preferences of course. We get them because we have different styles of play and have different abilities. What I'd like to see is maybe some suggestions for how best to play a particular ball type. Would you change your thinking about course management based on the type of ball you have in play? Would you choose different types of shots around the greens based on the ball type? Hard/Soft covers, high spinning or low. Do you prefer different compression levels based on temperature? Things like that would be informative.
I'd like you try one of the multilayer but surlyn ball (Bridgestone e12 / Titleist Tour Speed / TM Soft Response) against a good 2 piece and/or a cheaper 3 piece urethane covered ball. The 3 piece surlyn kind of seems like a middle ground...but do they perform as such in real world examples? And Ping did the split colour balls.
I've used them -- they're great for training on greens (use the divide as an alignment, if your putt isn't square, you'll see the colors blur as you putt), and fun to chip/pitch with, but I found them hard to locate on drives and long iron shots, especially if they wind up red side up. Fortunately, I've gotten them at pro shops where I had a $10 off $30 coupon, so I only paid $20 for them.
As a golfer with vision issues I decided to give these a shot. I played these for a few rounds and frankly hated them. I couldn’t get used to them and went back to my standard yellow. The version of the Divide I used was the Red/Yellow. Also the feel of the putter was terrible to the current ball I use which is the Yellow Tour Response.
After MyGolfSpy showed that the Q-Star tour had horrible manufacturing tolerances, the ball was essentially worthless. That said, the non-2-tone balls can often be bought very cheaply and make for good practice balls
@@CamMacMastermusic total BS - look up their last test - they purchased all the balls, hit them all with robots, and cut them all open - it was cutting them open that revealed the massive problems with the very poor manufacturing tolerances. The ball is complete junk if ball-to-ball you don't know if it is going to fly straight or curve right or left because they can't even center the ball's internal layers - honestly, they should have pulled it from the shelves
I currently play the Srixon Z-Star in the summer months and the Q-Star Tour in the fall and spring. Both are 3-piece with urethane covers. With me it depends upon what's on sale. Both perform excellent. The Q-Star Tour sounds a little firmer around the green, but performancewise I can't really tell. They are very similar. I play both in white so la la la about the colors.
Strange one, I think they’re great and they’re really useful when putting. I have the red and yellow which have been great since the leaves came down. Can imagine they’d be a nightmare in the autumn though. They might drop in price if people aren’t interested.
I've used it for several months and love it. Price is better than Pro V1 and performs about the same for me. I like the red/yellow but they sell out quite often.
I would like to see you and Chris do a talking balls on the Callaway super soft red balls ,gamed them on Wooley this year August time ,you probably might have found some that I left lying around due to them for me being incredibly difficult to find in the rough stuff but I also found they shone like a beacon in the tree/ woodland areas at another course I played at.
I play the Srixon soft feel in tour yellow and I really like them for the price. For me they played better than the Kirkland brand, longer and softer around the green. Of course Kirkland is half the price. I was considering getting a few of those for practice putting. PGA superstore sells thoseindividually
Ping did them back in the 80's and believe it or not iv'e still go 3 or 4 dozen in boxes in the loft. You’ve got me thinking, should I try and hunt them out.
Would love to see a comparison between premium "practice" balls and their normal balls. Not talking refurbished balls, but the OEM practice balls. I mainly play with Taylormade TP5 Practice balls which are $30/dz, which is a good 1/3 off the price of the new ones. Would like to know if I am leaving any performance on the table by using them.
I bought a dozen for £28 from a local pro shop soon after they were released. They've not been able to get any since. I've never seen them anywhere since in pro shops or American Golf. Places were advertising them at £35 but didn't have them in stock. It was easier to get the PING balls than the Srixon. In the end I gave up trying to get them.
I have been playing with these balls now for about 5 weeks. In this time i have won 3 competitions. I love the feel of the ball and the easy alignment. Dont mind paying more for them at all . I play with red/yellow. Plus i find them easy to spot in the rough. Only lost one and that was in a water hazard!
I found one of these on my home course and kept it. I just bought a dozen to use for my practice at home. I use for putting. It works perfectly in helping you know that you made a good putt. I’m also using with my MEVO+ simulator. I put the dot on the equator where the colors meets and it takes me less time to find the dot. I also use it with my drills when working on my swing path.
I haven't noticed this ball being played by others. I did find one while looking for my lost shot. It was interesting to use when putting. But didn't care for looking down on a multi colored ball.
I have not seen anyone play these balls at my club yet or found any in the rough / trees to try for myself!! In general I enjoy playing Srixon balls they offer a good belnd of value for money, longevity and feel ok in all departments. In competitions and when playing well I still favour the old Pro V's but during the winter months the Srixon's are often the ball of choice.
Love the ball and makes it easy to pick up in flight and on the ground. Especially for those of us that are getting older and harder to see. I liked it so much that I switched to the Z Star white yellow divide and absolutely crush them! Love them
Had six balls owed to me through competition. I usually use the srixon q star tour whites, got three divides to give them a go. They come off the clubs very well. Still ironically can't put with them, hmmm.
My wife and I both use the Divides and like them. I’m no expert, but I like the feel more that some other balls. I only have one left, but no one near me sells them. My wife buys them on line, but the only sell one box at a time. I ordered a box, but they haven’t arrived yet. I should add that I can still have a good idea where I hit one and still not be able to find it.
Please test the Callaway Supersoft MAGNA. It’s different in that it’s BIGGER than standard ball. Does it lose distance? Is it easier to chip and put with? I think so. Also, I think it sits well up in light rough, making the strike point easier to hit. Cheers , Chris.
I game the orange/yellow combination and absolutely love them. They are very easy to track in the air (I normally play yellow or green). I guess I need to stock up on them before they quit making them.
Ping did it years ago. I like ‘‘em for practicing wedge work. Fun to see how you are spinning it with different strikes. I DON’T play with them.
You should. You’ll love them.
Chris…. Brilliant Call on the white Divide. And White and black would be good too !
I agree with you guys. That blue is very hard to find in the grass but it does look good in air and very easy to follow.
I use the q star tour in yellow. Wouldn't use the divide just think they look bit weird.
Can you review the Maxfli Tour and Tour x? Thanks James enjoy the videos.
I like the idea for short game practice, like Chris’ other video. Just love the banter between you two!
Ping tried this years ago and they just never did catch on, but never did Ping other ball options?
Ping had a similar ball some time ago. I'm not a fan of the AD333, I have played with the QStar and the Zstar both are good balls.
I wouldn't use the 2 coloured ball, great if you're placing or putting on the green but off-putting when not aligned up.

3D Golf Ball ……
JRG…… Srixon should make a ball with a 3D color scheme and 3D Glasses. I made some of my own and it actually works really well.
Top video gents. I use the Q star tour in white and they’re only $45 a box here in Oz, not the £40 that James mentioned 😮

Appreciate your time Robert mate

Totally agree.

Srixon marketing tip …. Put them on sale or offer a loyalty program of sorts like a coffee punch card 😂 and they’ll get everyone using them.
You could hear the surprise in Chris' voice, "That's next to the hole!" Haha..
I like them myself :) helpful to practice and great for me on par 3's
first ball I sold out of as well!!! New shop vibes

Like watching you do reviews of everything outside.
Ping did 2 colour balls back in the day.
Play Srixon AD333 as standard, and Marathon Soft as my winter ball.
Hi James. Have you reviewed the Wilson Staff balls yet on ‘Talking balls’? If not, I’d like to see a review of those.... Big Wilson fan 😁 Thanks
As a golfer with vision issues I decided to give these a shot. I played these for a few rounds and frankly hated them. I couldn’t get used to them and went back to my standard yellow. I use the Bridgestone RX , but I found one of these and gave it a hit and was honestly impressed with them would have no problem using these
I used to think that Crossfield was the best putter on RUclips. No more. It's definitely JR!
If you play too much golf with the Srixon yellow/BLUE BALLS , the latter colour will lead to just that !!!!
Couldn't get these for love nor money not long ago
Still really enjoyed using it
Would prefer them in a cheaper model like ad333 or distance
Would love to try them but not seen them in any of our local pro/golf shops...
The ball I like to see you test is the Titleist tour soft vs the pro v1
Best ball for winter play?
Ping made a similar ball. I currently have Zstar balls in yellow for holes where I usually hit into the scrub 😎
I have, but not for fall golf. I lost three on the first hole I played with them, one was in the fairway.
Thanks James and Chris that was a riot 🤣...👍🥃🇨🇦
Would like to see a review on the Lazarus irons an wedges from Amazon thanks
Wasnt there Ping balls back in the 90's when i started playing, who had 2 colours if i remember right?
How devastated was chris when you sank that putt 😂😂😂
Interested in these but haven’t bought any yet, would definitely have got some by now if they were in the AD333
I game the orange/yellow combination and absolutely love them. They are very easy to track in the air (I normally play yellow or green). I guess I need to stock up on them before they quit making them.
